Galaxy Note 9 Unboxing and Tour!

Hey, what's going on guys, welcome back Kelley here again with the Droid life, so, as you can tell Galaxy Note 9 in house, this is the blue version and I know that, because you can see right there, that's the yarn, yellow pen, color that comes with the blue one. Only with the blue one there's also a purple one Oh big shout out to AT&T. We really appreciate the support that you're sending this device out. This is 128 gig model, which you can see right there. Obviously, there's 512 give models too and yeah we're going house now. Your resident Note hater has one in house now, and we're going to unbox it, and then we'll do some other stuff with it, and we'll get to that review until you guys, you know what we think about it.

So stick with us. This is our it's our note 9 unboxing. So where do we begin here? Well, you can pre-order this guy right now it costs a thousand bucks. For again this version, 128 gig versions a thousand bucks anywhere. You get it from Samsung from ATT from Verizon Farewell Sprint's doing a weird lease program, but everywhere else sells it for a thousand bucks.

If you want the 512 gig you're jumping up two thousand two hundred fifty bucks and again that's that's everywhere. Almost all carriers are doing, including 18 to you're doing like a buy one, get one free deal. So if you do buy one from AT&T they'll give you a free one probably have to get a new line. Things like that Verizon is doing that I think T-Mobile's doing more of a trade in style where they'll give you credit for it's confusing. We've got a whole write-up I'll link that down below but yeah.

So we've got one in house. Let's throw this thing open, get this out of the way, and then we can start. You know doing the whole review song and dance so packaging again. The pen is on the front. This looks like guides up top so guides there.

Let's see if I can get this phone out, there's a little pull tab. Ii phone set that down feels like a note, already SIM card. So this is all pretty standard stuff. So there's your fast charger. There is your USB-C microUSB.

Whatever charging thing case, you need to transfer between phones and then in here we've got your USB 80, USB, cable and that's some headphones guess. We can pull this fun stuff out. So there's your USB, a 2, C cable, which will charge your phone with here, are EKG tuned headphones and then this little guy right here. This is your. This is for your s-pen, so it's a little grabber tool, so you can actually pull the tips out with it and then there's a couple extra tips in there too.

You should break because the S Pen tip. So that's within the Box. Let's, let's grab the phone so grabbing the phone here, uh, here's your Galaxy Note 9 is my first time touching. You Tim actually went to the unpacked event where they announced this thing, so I actually haven't held this thing. Yeah, this poll stickers off including these white stickers remind all your friends.

If these white stickers are on their phones, they can take those off. There's nothing really that important on there that you can't find on the inside of the phone or the box. So, let's boot up and while it's booting we'll talk about specs and stuff, so Samsung Galaxy, Note 9 has their Knox thing. It also has Android, even though it doesn't look like it because of their skin. So yeah.

This is the blue one, the sharp-looking blue. Actually, it's tough to pick up on camera, but see a really deep, nice looking blue and then the other version is a purple color. So in the US you get blue or purple black and copper metallic are elsewhere, although there's always a good chance, one of those two or both of those will show up a place like Best Buy down the road. So if we're looking at the phone you have hi, there, you've got a Snapdragon, a 45 processor. On the inside.

You have a six point: four inch, quad HD Super AMOLED, display up front. That's 20 960 by 1440 for those of you keeping track so big. This is their biggest AMOLED display. Yet I believe you have six gig RAM in this version, as well as 128 gigabytes of storage, there's also an SD slot. You can throw in another 512 gigabytes of storage in there.

If you want there's also a 512 gigabyte version, which I mentioned that has eight gig ram, so 128 gig storage versions has 6 gig ram. The 512 gig has 8 gig ram that everyone clear on that we've got a dual camera setup back here. They both have optical image, stabilization ones. A wide-angle is a telephoto. It's two times optical zoom.

You should be able to take pretty good pictures at this camera. You also have I believe that's a heart rate sensor and there's a LED flash. This is a fingerprint reader, you'll notice. It moved from over here in the note 8 to down here with the note 9 kind of matching up to that galaxy s, 9 style, there's no 9 there. Please ignore the sticky.

You can see these things are fingerprint magnets I've been touching it for well as long as you've been watching this video- and this thing is already a gunky mess. Four thousand William hour battery on the inside of this bad boy, so they've upped that which is awesome, has fast charging wireless charging, so you've got all that going on, runs Android 8.1 with Samsung skiing. On top of it, I'll show you that in a second has fast Wi-Fi, it has fast LTE. It has NFC and MST, which is the payment, the payment chip or system that Samsung uses. So you can just tap this thing to any credit card terminal, and it'll.

Let you pay with it. There's that fingerprint scanner has iris scanning facial recognition, all that good stuff and that's pretty much it. It's got all the specs. If you're looking for a phone that has all the specs, this is the phone with those specs. So let's jump into software, alright! Well we're in we're past the setup stuff.

I haven't connected anything! So no, not that I'm ever going to use Bigamy. You can see it's not set up at all. We swipe in here there's no Haps really loaded. So this is kind of at least 18 T firs, as we get out of the box. There's a few bloatware apps up there, visual voicemail, not too bad, but this is Samsung skin, which is called Samsung experiences on top of Android, so it looks sort of like Android, but it's very, very Samsung II swipe down here into about phone software info, so Android 8 I want you'll, remember, Android Pi was announced like a week or so ago.

This is already behind out of the box. It does have Samsung experience.9.5, though, which is I. Think the newest version doesn't look that much different to me than what was on the s9, but there's probably some improvements or stuff like that, but July security patch. It's August who's, keeping track of these things right. So for the most part, though, this is going to look very familiar to Samsung folks, it hasn't chained a lot, so we'll come back to the software another day, show you some tips and tricks and that stuff, but I did forget a couple of things.

So let me do this, and we'll go to the bottom here, so kind of important thing that I kind of skipped in the hardware tour. So on the bottom you have headphone jack, so headphone jack Samsung is still doing that, which is awesome. OnePlus and Samsung are about the only one so headphone jack, USB-C port, and then that is a speaker there. One of two speakers does have two speakers and then that's s-pen right there we'll come back to that in a second, so here's the other speaker, so that your piece doubles as both stereo speaker and earpiece. And then you have all your sensors up here.

There is cancer and front-facing camera and all of that stuff on this left side over here you got volume rocker and then this is a big speed button. Yes, big speed button on this right side is your power switch and, of course, it's still almost directly across from big speeds. So every time you grab your phone and squeeze that power button, you will squeeze big speedy. So thankfully you can turn that off now which we will do up top. That is your SD card slot, as well as your SIM tray.

So if you buy this phone, you don't know where to put your SIM card it. It goes right there and there's a little tool in the Box popped, a little pin and that hole, ejected put SD card slot in sim in there, and that's that's how that works. So that's a tour of the outside look at that seriously been holding this thing for three minutes. Let's talk about the s-pen, so s-pen click it eject it I haven't tried to put it in backwards. Of course, they're, not gonna.

Let that happen any more still clicks nice click to it. This one is that you're in yellow that I do love so much you'll notice that if I pull the pen out I can just start writing on this right away, so that that's been in no phones for a little while now, where you could just it's called screen off memo, I think and take a quick note: save it get on about your day. So that's in there all the Pens, like this one's yellow it writes in yellow on this screen purple one has a purple. Planet, writes in purple kind of get that idea. If we skip this thing and discard and go back home.

So that's been this. This s-pen is actually really cool, so first one that has Bluetooth when you plug it in here it. Actually it actually charges it so because Bluetooth needs a batterie, so that actually charges it, which is pretty cool. But when you pull it out, it does because I was Bluetooth. There's some remote things, so you can like long press the button once you set this up, and it launches the camera and then, if you want to do the selfie thing you can like to take remote selfies, you take your little pen with you prop this up over here and just click the button.

It takes a picture you can see, and you can double-click and flip it to selfie and I, can double-click and flip it back. So you can do some cool stuff like that. I mean this s. Pan is this, is legitimately one of the coolest there. It is the coolest thing of this new phone, so I know I said we're.

Going to skip saw for sup, but if we go into advanced features and go to s-pen, just because, you got to see this so s-pen remote is what it's called, and in here it shows you battery percentage number one which is kind of cool and again, if you plug it in it charges it very quickly can under a minute or something like that, so hold s-pen down. You can have that launched any app. You don't have to have it do the camera. Furthermore, you can pick whatever app you want and then there's some action. So when you're in the camera single press takes a picture, or you can have it switch between front back same thing with gallery, you can just sit here and click it, and it'll swipe through pictures.

So it's kind of got custom actions depending on what app you're using so yeah kind of cool. It very, very cool little feature: I mean the S Pen. Is its pretty awesome? There's more we'll show you that, really to a special s-pen tips and tricks video down the road. There's some other advanced options in here, and we'll come back to all this stuff, but uh yeah. This is uh.

This is the Galaxy Note 9, again 18 T model thanks again 18 T for sending this out blue version with the yarn hen pretty excited to play with it. These note I know I on them constantly, but these no phones are just really cool toys there. There are powerful tools, but they're the only ones with s-pen, and I mean they have stereo speakers. Now they have the best display you'll find on the market. I mean there's just as much as I like to goof around a joke about Samsung stuff.

They do some cool stuff and this phone has everything in it. The design is premium and nice, even though it's got fingerprint glass, so anyways we're diving in its review time, scouting the night review times. Anything particularly wants to look at, let us know otherwise. We are short life piece.
