ASUS Zenfone 8 UNBOXING | A SMALL PACKAGE WITH A HUGE PUNCH!

Hey guys, tech flash here, and today I have an unboxing of what I believe is a fascinating product which is brought to you by ASUS. The name of the device is the ASUS before 8, and before I unbox this saying that this phone is probably one of the most interesting android devices out there, especially when it comes to flagship categories, would be massively understated, because ASUS is a brand which has given us some crazy phones in the past, for example, the variant that we have today has eight gigs of ram, which, by the way is, I think, is a lot for a phone, and it is also paired with 256 gigs of internal storage. But the surprising thing is that this phone actually starts from six gigs of ram and goes up to a staggering 16 gigs of ram, which is crazy, to say the least. The phone also comes with a 5.9 inch display, which, if you compare to a lot of other devices out, there is not too big as we're used to seeing devices with way more than six inches of display. Additionally, the phone supports 5g connectivity with dual sim, and it also has the snapdragon AAA chip in it unboxing the phone. We can see the booklet, which says defy ordinary, which is a hint towards the craziness of the ASUS phones.

Opening this up. We have the sim ejector pin alongside a protective case and a very thick user manual, which is unusual to see it's good to see that ASUS included a good quality case with the phone, which is something that I would like to see. Other phone manufacturers do if you're wondering the case is a hard shell case with the ASUS before branding on it. Looking further into the box, we have the actual device which we will turn on in a bit digging deeper. We have the phone charger, which is a fast charger, but, honestly speaking, I did expect for the charger to have a little more punch to it.

This is a 30 watt charger which is not slow by any means, but comparing to other phone manufacturers, especially from China, we have already seen 120 160 watt chargers, comparing this to that. The charger is not as exciting as I expected to be. We also see the charging cable, which is a type c to type c, now unwrapping the phone. You might ask yourself. This device can actually be labeled as a flagship phone, considering the fact that the design and look of the phone is fairly generic and simple, there isn't a lot of branding either.

It just says the ASUS before in simple fonts here, looking at the bottom and side profile of the phone, you can see also that this is not really a slim device, and it has rounded corners which gives it a very old design. Type of look, the USB c port, the sim slot and the speaker. Grille are located at the bottom, and we can also see a small led which is actually used as a charger indicator. Coming to the front, the device comes with a 5.92 inch, AMOLED 1080p display, which is kind of okay. A good thing, though, is that the display comes with a fast refresh rate, 120 hertz, which is exactly what we would need for a device of the screen size.

If this phone would have a larger display, then I would have argued that the resolution needed to be higher than just 1080p. Another thing which is interesting and annoying at the same time is the way the cameras have been placed. I don't know what ASUS was thinking here, but on the front we can see a punch hole camera located at a very odd place. I would rather see the camera in the middle with the v or, u notched, design like we've seen in Samsung phones. Similarly, on the back as well, the camera is placed in very asymmetrical way and without any proper measurements.

There are weird uneven gaps between the camera and the phone panel, which is very annoying to look at one thing that I did like is the power button on the side of the phone is colored differently and separates itself from the volume buttons. Also, an interesting thing that I did note is the number of microphones and antenna lines on the device. We can see a mic on the top one on the back with the camera and one on the bottom of the phone. Also, since this is a 5g device, there is an abundance of antenna lines which can be seen all over the device. The phone also comes with gorilla glass on both sides, although they are both different.

The back has gorilla glass, 3 and the front has the gorilla glass Vitus, which is the latest and strongest glass available. Talking about the software, the ASUS has a very similar experience and feel to vanilla android going into the about phone tab. We can actually see that it is currently running on android 11. Now, if we talk about the real purpose of this phone, which is gaming, ASUS is a very well known company for making gaming smartphones, and this is no exception either. Once the gaming mode is turned on the phone completely transforms, and it gives us the exact features and functionalities that we would see from a ROG phone.

The snapdragon triple a chip paired with 16 gigs of ram, is undeniably a phone that can conquer any game at the moment and easily even outdo itself against most of the competition holding it next to a flagship phone such as the iPhone 12 Pro the before 8 looks tiny and aesthetically doesn't look much appealing either, but it compensates with the hardware that it is inside it and with features like an in-display fingerprint scanner and a 4000mah battery, which we would see only on any great flagship phone out there today. A very prime example of don't judge a book by its cover. Finally, taking a look at the camera system on the before 8, we have a dual camera setup, one which is an ultra-wide camera and the main one which has a 64 megapixel sensor to it. Asus did not actually provide any zoom or macro lenses with the phone, but there is an alternate way of getting to use those features. The main 64 megapixel camera has a built-in zoom feature which can be used for that and the ultra-wide angle.

Camera can also be used to get macro shots. The front camera has a regular 12 megapixel sensor, and one more thing that we do have here is also a headphone jack on the top of the phone now coming to a final conclusion and looking at whom the target market for this phone would be uh. Well, if you're looking for a phone that looks very simple but has unmatched performance and can play any game out there kind of like a wolf in sheep's clothing, uh. Well, look no further 16 gigs of ram are more than you will ever need on a lifetime, especially on a phone. Asus is also coming up with another phone called the before flip, which has a unique camera system, which basically has a flip camera that comes to the front of it.

Um stay tuned for that, because I will also be doing a video on that, so make sure that you guys are subscribed anyways. That will be all for today's video. I hope you did like it and if you did, please drop a like and, as I said, remember, to subscribe and turn on the notification button.
