Okay, so you guys cannot get enough of this new sort of form, factory video that I'm doing I like doing five reasons: videos that are short because they just get to the point and I, don't know they might justify a purchase or whatnot, and I've done two so far, one than the 11-inch iPad Pro and one on the twelve point, nine-inch iPad Pro, and I've gotten a lot of positive feedback, and someone asked me they said: hey, you have to do one on the iPad seventh-generation and since this device is proven to be such a great value, despite its all the design and its older hardware today, I thought I would give it the same treatment and give you seven reasons. I said five in this clip because I'm a dong reason why the iPad seventh-generation is the way to go as of this year, but before we continue, I'd really appreciate it. If you leave a like on this video come and if you have any questions, suggestions or opinions as the algorithm likes that and will help push my content to more people. The first reason you should consider the 7th gen iPad or the iPad 10.2 inch is because of its 10.2 inch form factor here. I in my personal experience have concluded that this is a pretty perfectly sized iPad. It's the Goldilocks of the bunch, not too big like the 12.9, is not too small, like the mini, and it can accommodate a variety of tasks for a variety of people. The screen is big enough for writing and note-taking and drawing- and it's definitely big enough- you know expansive and bright for watching movies and consuming media on YouTube and also gaming.
Gaming is a pretty decent experience on this tablet. In short, this form factor is great for work and play reason: number two: this device supports Apple Pencil and when the Apple Pencil first came out in 2015, alongside the original twelve point, nine-inch iPad Pro I, think people thought it was a glorified stylus that would make Steve Jobs to roll over in his grave I probably said that at one point, but over the years the Apple Pencil has proven to be an incredibly powerful tool for people who are artists- and you know note takers like me in college. So, for example, I have notability installed on this iPad, a very popular note-taking, you're annotating app, or you can. You know annotate PDFs and take your own notes and in my experience, note-taking has been really excellent. Even with the air gap and the display it's not quite laminated and not to mention the display only goes up to sixty Hertz I.
Don't think you need 120 Hertz to any laminated display in order to have a really great note-taking experience and if you're, on a budget, if you're a student who wants to have a pencil, and you want an iPad, but you can't afford it and like the air or the pro. This is definitely a great alternative. Your money, if you're not doing anything that intensive with your iPad for a living and the same thing goes for artists. If you're broken you want the Apple Pencil, which is a powerful tool. It has you know, pressure sensitivity, as you can see here in the Notes app with the pencil tool that I'm using here I should really download some art apps at demo.
But regardless, if you want an iPad to do art, you don't have to buy the most expensive one to get your work done. This will work quite well, and the price of this iPad will leave you room to buy the Apple Pencil reason number three. Just like every other iPad, you get excellent battery life and truthfully this might be one of the best performing ones because it doesn't have like a power-hungry 8 12 X chip inside and a more power hungry. You know larger brighter display, like you, can find on the 11 inch and the 12 point 9-inch iPad Pro this device also has great standby time. So, if you were to not use this device for like a few days, it wouldn't drain so bad to the point where you have to recharge.
You still have some juice left over to pick up where you left off, and although I don't think it gets exactly ten hours of screen on time. Like apples, figures I think they only test video playback. In that regard, you can definitely get through a full day of usage with the iPad seventh-generation or ten point two inches here. Absolutely no problem. Reason number four: this device totes the Apple smart connector, which can allow you to connect these smart, Keyboard and other accessories that can make use of it as well.
What's great about it. Is that a lot of the accessories compatible with it? If not all of them, don't work wire? You know Bluetooth connections or battery, because you have a direct connection for data and power. So that's pretty convenient and sort of pro feature that you get with this cheap or iPad reason. Number five. The hardware and software in this device are just excellent, even in 2020, and the optimization is obviously there because Apple makes the processor and the operating system on this device and though the a-10 is more than two years old, now I think closer to three years old right now and though it doesn't stack up perfectly to the newer processors, it can still push the iPadOS experience very nicely and speaking of iPadOS, it's on this device and, as we know, Apple has made some pretty serious changes to it in regard to file management and in regard to multitasking and stuff, it's a very capable operating system and the fact that they don't water things down on their cheaper devices is great.
So you get the same experience, albeit it's not as great on the sheep device. Just like you do with the Mini and the air three and the two iPad Pro models. So again you get the same operating system. The same features the same apps just like you would on an eye, even if it costs twice as much reason number six. This thing is cheap.
It starts out at three hundred and twenty-nine dollars at the 32 gigabyte model, which is your know very small, mind you, but if you're doing mostly web-based tasks like watching YouTube or taking notes on the cloud you know like it's like some apps will sync with the cloud. It's definitely a big enough form factor, although kind of tight squeeze I'm not gonna, lie, and also you have to keep in mind that there are sales going on as well. So, for example, Walmart is selling the 32 gigabyte model for 279 right here. I saw one listing for 249 at Staples. Here we go, so this thing is always going to be on sale, there's always going to be a great price on it significantly cheaper than Apple's original MSRP so always be on the lookout, for you know better pricing for this tablet.
The same thing happened with the 6th gen similar pricing across the board, so yeah you're, often paying anywhere from 250 to 280, to possibly sometimes 330, if you're buying this directly from Apple. For all of this, which, I think is a pretty good deal and reason number 7. This is a great entry-level Apple device for people of all ages. If you're somebody who uses Android and Windows- and you want to taste of the Apple ecosystem, this is definitely a safe purchase. It's not going to exactly suck you in its just an enjoyable tablet, that's great for a multitude of things.
This is also great for young children. If you want to buy your kid, an iPad for Christmas or for their birthday, and they want a game on it, or they want to use it for school. This is cheap. This is easier to repair I believe because the screen is not laminated. That's one advantage of this.
You know inferior screen, tech and this device is also great for older folks. My family actually bought one from my grandma for her birthday. We got her a 6th gen, one which minds you was very similar to this. It just has a nine point: 7 inch display and no smart connector, and she loves the thing she uses it for everything she doesn't want to use her iPhone 4, because the screen is just bigger. If you have poor eyesight, which is just a fact of life at that age, this device is going to be great for answering your email and surfing the web and for typing the keys are huge.
You know my grandma has these long acrylic nails, so she can, like you, know, type more comfortably um versus just her iPhone, where she can barely type at all. She has to use like a stylus, so yeah. In short, this device is great for people of all ages, and again it's a very low-risk, cheap, Apple product which won't appreciate that much and will still run iPadOS or whatever operating system. Apple has for it very well, even in the years to come, and that about wraps things up. I hope this video was helpful if you are interested in the iPad seventh-generation I would really appreciate it once again.
