ZTE Blade A3 Prime I Unboxing & First Impressions

All right guys welcome back to another video with your man jay. This is the ZTE blade a3. Now this, in fact, is a pocket friendly device it'll probably be really affordable for you uh, it's not a high spec device, but it's enough for the average consumer and believe it or not. These are the types of phones that probably 75 of the world is using right. Now, a lot of people aren't using phones that are above 200 bucks. So this phone should be priced a lot less than 200 bucks.

It has a 5.45 inch 18 by 9 HD IPS display, so that's 1440 by 720, with the pixel account of 295. , so uh, comparing that to some other phones on the market, they cost what 500 bucks 400 I got to do it. It has two gigs of ram and 32 gigs onboard storage. You can actually put a SD card in here. Uh that'll hold two terabytes, so that's that's impressive uh! Not that people will do that, because it'll cost way more than the phone, but you get the just of it.

Six hundred and sixty William hour battery inside here- and it says that it's removable, that's gonna, be that's different um. I can't wait to crack the seal on. This. Has a MediaTek processor inside the 6761 quad-core clocked at two gigahertz android 10, with the 5 gigahertz Wi-Fi on here as well, so Bluetooth, 4.2, and you've got a fingerprint reader and facial recognition, the finger printers on the back uh and let's get this cracked open here. You've got a front camera at five megapixels uh, and then you have a rear camera at eight megapixels, so uh, let's get it open here.

Let's see here we're going to crack this open. Now I currently use the blade 10 uh on visible for my main phone for my visible line, but I'll be switching over and uh using this device right here, I'll pop the sim card out uh and uh, oh wow, that is nice and compact. Oh yeah, you know what right off the rip folks. This has such a nice texture, and you know what I bet the back is removable yep. We haven't seen this in a minute folk, removable battery.

That is great man. There is a little screen protector on here. Already it's made to come off, but I'm going to leave it on there as much as possible as long as possible, so crack and open the box here. You've got some instructions very simple to the point: color instructions at least, and you get a charger, and you can. I can't believe this man it's time to see.

I just can't believe that it has a removable battery. Furthermore, I haven't seen these in so long. It's crazy! So I'm going to pop this in here. Let's get it come on john get this in here there we go, and you can see the slot for the sim card, so I'm going to go ahead and uh pop that in real quick, take my sim card out of my blade, 10 and pop it in that has been my phone of choice for a long time. So it goes in like that, and then it goes back on this back feels perfect.

So uh we'll get a hardware tour going here in just a second. I can't believe a removable battery in 2020. That's that's incredible. So, first, looking at the hardware, you've got the fingerprint on the back and believe I'm telling you folks. This is the phones that people actually use day to day because it's not going to break their pockets, and then you know if they drop this or break it, they can just buy another one.

So fingerprint reader camera on the back. You've got a dual tone. Led flash looks like uh the front camera again is five and the rear is eight. You've got a headphone jack up top type c on the bottom microphone there and a microphone there. Nothing on this side, volume and power.

The power button is actually ridged, so that's pretty cool, and you have type c so a huge difference, uh in make sure it's snapped on folks huge difference from my blade 10 from what I've been using this whole time. It's a lot smaller uh, and you know, hey it's going to be a switch, but you know it's definitely doable. I like this, I'm glad to have a light, and this is lightweight too nice and compact and again um I'll, be testing this out. Uh for sure, but this is a pretty nice man, pretty, pretty nice, it's nice and compact man. You don't see a lot of compact phones anymore, and while this again isn't a spec giant, it is still a device that we can use.

So I'm going to set this up real, quick, and I'll be back all right, guys. Welcome back to the next part of the video- and this is honestly after a long time of use so um. My experience with this phone is. This is going to be good for those people who genuinely just need a phone, and that is who this is targeted to some people. Going to say it's targeted for children.

I would say this device can definitely be for anyone um and that's the truth. It can. Anyone can use this phone. It depends on what your budget is. It depends on what your, how important a cell phone is to you uh, just your thoughts on what a phone should do and if you're wondering the phone, does social media the basic because we're in a social age right now and this phone does social media? Well um.

Is it the best? Is it the fastest? Well, I'm used to I'm going to grab. Whatever phone is next to me, I'm used to phones just popping open, like that. You know um getting it open, and you know it's open, but I think a person who buys his phone is not going to be worried about how fast is opening things next to other phones. That's not going to be the case you're going to just want to get the phone, and you're going to have your experience with it, and I think a lot of people in the tech community forget that consumers. You know regular people out there who or where cell phone is not that important to them.

It is not the top of the list for them. This is going to be a situation where this phone is fantastic. The best phone you have is the one you're holding the one that you think is the best. So phones like this when it comes out you know again, this is going to be invisible. It's on visible for free or reporting, or something like that or just very cheap.

One thing that I will say about this device is that it is bare bones: it is the minimum I mean you're, not getting a big fancy device when it comes to specs, but you're getting a current design. If you will, I mean you've got a nice display. If you will it's HD, which is 720, and then you've got a fingerprint reader. You've got the 18 by nine aspect ratio. You know, you've got the dual flash on the rear.

I haven't seen that in a long time when a phone has a single camera with a dual flash, but I'm sure that uh and here's one thing ZTE on their like budget devices, tend to have perfect cameras. This is something that's true, and then you have the uh 2600 William battery. So again the 5.45 inch display some would say, that's small, but that's actually a big display, depending on who you are because, if you're looking at phones like the iPhone SC, a lot of people would say this phone doesn't compare and doesn't live up to it at all because of the internals. But in reality you people picking their devices know what's best for them. That's about the best way.

I can say it. They know what's best for them. So as far as LTE bands go again, this does work on visible. But I got to read the balance for you, so you got band 13, 4, 2, 5 and 12. Uh, and you know it's.

It's going to work. If you get it's unlocked, you can get it to use on other carriers, but you do have the five gigahertz Wi-Fi band on here along the 2.5. Obviously you got a headphone jack uh, and it's got android 10. , so camera wise, um, nope, camera wise. You, you have a basic camera.

So let's go up here. You can see different filters and things like that. You've got auto flash and go here. Settings you've got a max resolution of eight megapixels for the photos, uh, and then you've got videos. So let's switch to video, and you got a max resolution of 1080p and see when you think of this.

You know some people are instantly going to say: oh my gosh! That's trash! That's a that's a horrible phone you're, just hyping this up, this little phone has manual mode. Even I didn't know that I'm not going to say that I did, but I think you got to remember that everybody is different. It does take a SD card. It can take up to a two terabyte car, but you know honestly with a MediaTek processor in here, and you know how this phone is running with two gigs of ram. I don't recommend you that I would say you top out, probably at about 32 or 64 at the most and make sure it's not too strong of a card.

The MediaTek processor inside here isn't a bad processor, but you're not going to get just a two terabyte card in this phone. No one would do that anyway and that costs more than the phone, but just saying daily usage. Folks you'll be fine. I mean I've got my apps loaded up um. I've replaced my well I started using, I shouldn't say, replaced.

Furthermore, I started using this phone in place of my ZTE that I've had on visible for a long quite a long time. Uh this one right here, the blade 10. , the blade 10- is a device that has dual cameras and a single led, and any of that I don't know what that's about uh, but you can see the difference in the size of these devices. So you know that's why I don't mind using a phone like this, because it's tiny and the crazy part is the battery life on this device is much better than the blade 10. Um, and you know it's just because that processor and the in the combination of the device and more importantly it has a removable back and a removable battery.

This is unheard of today. You know it's unheard of there. It is it's unheard of that companies have removable backs. So I think that you know they're cutting a lot of costs uh by having a removable battery, and you also can make money. You know I'm saying it on an on the side of making money you can sell extra batteries.

That'll make this phone last even longer to some people. You know it's all about what you want that headphone jack says a lot. You know. So um overall, I think this is a phone. That's going to be for someone, I don't.

I mean again. This is my third line on my account like, like phones, that I have. This is like number three or four on the slot, because I really just use phone calls for this. Like tons of phone calls, some people have this phone number uh. Some YouTubers have this phone number and some YouTubers have my other phone numbers, but this line is strictly phone.

Calls is what I use visible for, because when I travel, let's be clear here, visible is on Verizon's network, and it is fantastic. You can stream. I mean I turned on Wi-Fi, but you don't need Wi-Fi the 4g LTE. That's on this device is just fine if the phone runs great, no problems whatsoever, and I don't think a person is going to have an issue with using this phone as a daily driver. It's just that in the tech world we tend to be very harsh on phones that are not your.

Your one plus devices are not your v60s. You guys are hard on these phones, uh, and you know you're hard on phones like this, because I think you forget who's really buying all these expensive phones. It's not the average consumer paying outright for them. They're, financing, phones, so uh a phone like this is right up a consumer's alley, and I'm all for promoting it. You know I mean I want you to save as much money as possible.

Uh and the blade a3 prime is another option to save money. It gets the basics done uh, and it runs um. It does the things that I needed to do even like my flagships, uh and in fact these cameras are the rear. Cameras, might be a hair better than some of the phones that obviously cost a heck of a lot more. So it's up to you to decide what you think is important in your device and um.

That's really all I have to say about this device. It's an it's an it's a phone first, and then it's social media. Second, do you understand sound like you're? Not going to get the top tier snapdragon 865 performance out of this because you're not buying it, and you probably don't even know what that is if you're buying this phone, so this will be for that person who's going to do social media at some point in their day, going to check their emails. Going to take care of these things, but really they're. Looking for something, that's going to last a long time on battery, because this phone can go a long time on that little 2600 William hour battery 2660 um.

It goes for a long time. I've only charged this phone, probably once no. Actually I tried it once I charged it once, maybe in the last four or five days. Let's see because again, this phone doesn't get the type of usage that other phones get so uh better. I charge oh wait here.

We go. I charge this phone uh. Let's go down here to usage, I charge this phone for almost five days ago. Almost five days ago, I charge this phone, and I'm at thirty percent uh now screen on time is going to be really low because I'm I'm doing phone calls and other things I'm not really doing a lot of social media with this device. But, however, this is a phone that a person could definitely use and last them for a long time, and if you need to find a replaceable battery, I'm sure you could find one, so we're in this video.

On a note with the cameras hope you enjoy these photos and this quick video sample- and I will see you guys in the next video- take care downtown. I got that heat, let's go so all right, guys so believe it or not. This is the rear camera shooting at 1080p uh, and I think it's probably going to look pretty good based on some of the samples that I just saw that I've taken ahead of time but uh. This is the rear camera 1080p. What do you guys think all right guys? So here's the front camera now? What do you think about this sample? Real quick, real brief and we're out of here.
