Galaxy Z Flip vs Galaxy S20 "Folding" the Competition?!

What is going on. My peeps aboard versatile is back with another video back here with the long awaited comparison between the galaxy s20 and the Galaxy Z flip 5g. Yes, Samsung has made two stellar devices this year, the galaxy s20, which arguably could have been the best for value out of the between the s20, s20 plus and s20 ultra and the z flip 5g, something pushing the boundaries of smartphone technology. So before we get into the video make sure you guys, like the like button on this video subscribe to the channel. If you haven't already make sure you guys hit that notification bell, so that way YouTube informs you when I drop videos, yes, YouTube won't, let you know what thing unless, and you hit that notification bell so go ahead and do that right there now, let's get into the video and the first thing we're going to talk about is specs. What's the differences between this beauty here, the Galaxy Z flip and this beauty here the galaxy s20? Well, the first thing I can tell you guys the difference.

Oh, that brightness is called easy. So in terms of specs, you got the snapdragon 865 versus the a65 plus in the z, flip 5g, so the benefits of both processors is that you get 5g technology for network connectivity. In terms of you know, mobile data and cellular connectivity. So that's a good thing now that, where the difference is in the 5d connectivity between these two phones, is you only get sub 6 with the s20, where you get sub 6, slash, 600, megahertz and the oh and the standalone 215 gigahertz network that T-Mobile is building with the 5g processor in the z, flip 5g? That just means you just get a little more extra coverage and turn the 5g connectivity. Now, what are the other specs? Oh, this is a 6.2 inch display rated at HD, but also has the ability to go 120 hertz. This is a 6.7 inch, 1080p or full HD plus display that caps out at 60 hertz. But here's the funny thing about the refresh rate on each screen.

Sorry, I blinked out there. The difference is the s20 is not well optimized at 60 hertz. They want you to use 120 hertz on this display. Yes, whether you use 60 hertz at 1080p or full quad HD 60 hertz, is not well optimized on the s20, whereas 60 hertz is beautifully optimized on the z flip 5g, which then allows me to say that 60 hertz is probably what optimized on the note 20 as well. Therefore, 60hz won't be as bad of a dealbreaker for the note 20.

, it's just a price in that and that uh. You know in the case of the note 20, but the reason why I was able to notice. That is because, when I dumb down this device, so if I try to go to settings and I go to display, and then I go and switch to the- and I don't know if you guys will get to see it as well on there- okay, I don't know if you guys will be able to see it that well on here. But when I hit when I go standard, and I switch it to standard it's not as smooth as you guys can see there, it's not as smooth as it could be now looking at it from afar. It actually looks like it's smooth.

You know when I lift it up. Okay, you know what one UI 2.5 actually optimized 60 hertz on here. I actually couldn't wait to come back and say something about that. But 60 hertz is actually it's actually optimized with the one UI 2.5 update whoa, okay, so that's actually not a dealbreaker with this anymore, I'm going to say six hertz runs just fine on here now granted. Let me go back here.

Turn on uh go back to high because I do like it on this device.120 hertz. Of course, you do notice a difference, but it's not so much of a dip. Well, it is kind of a difference. You do it's a noticeable difference, I'm not even gonna lie, but what I'm saying is prior to them. Optimizing 60 hertz with that one UI 2.5 update on the s20 60 hertz was very, very laggy, whereas here 120, hertz move really fast. As a matter of fact, let's go to settings.

It's actually very, very nice on this phone here. So now that they're both optimized- that's not really a big deal anymore. Just the one difference you do get between the two is 120 hertz versus capped, 60 hertz. Now what else is different? The cameras are slightly different. Actually they're, not the camera's.

Relatively the same. I believe you get a 10 megapixel for the front facing camera on the galaxy s20, and you do get a 10 megapixel front facing camera, and then you get 212 megapixels on the back a wide angle and an ultra-wide angle, no telephoto here, whereas here you do get a telephoto, I believe it's 12 megapixels 12 megapixels and 12 megapixels there or 64. , but I'm not 100 certain on the cameras, because I really don't use them as often anymore. Now, the cameras on the s20 are better than these z, flip 5. G's.

From what research I was able to gather it seems, like the cameras were imported, basically from like the s10 or the s10 e series. So the cameras are slightly less stellar on the z, flip 5g than the s20, and that's where I think they kind of messed up there because of the price starting at a thousand dollars with s20 get 120 hertz. You get a 4 000 William battery, you get a 300 William battery with the z flip 5g. Granted the design of the phone is a little different, so that might be partly why you get a slightly smaller battery for the first gen. But then you get three sets of cameras that are actually perfect on the s20, whereas with the z flip, you get the selfie camera, which is actually pretty good, but then you get decent camera quality out of the rear, rear-facing cameras, whereas you get good gamma camera quality.

Nonetheless, out of the s20, that's one of the things that I do like about the s20 is that this, the cameras are magnificent, and I like to feel the phone in the hand now granted. This color does show fingerprints or this type of glass shine when that does show fingerprints, and I like the hand-ability of the 6.2 inch and which and for a thousand dollars it's its worth it only because the processors also went up in price. And now I'm not saying that's a good thing, I'm just saying that it is worth a thousand dollars because of that. But had that not been the case, I think Samsung actually would have priced the s20 starting at 900, and then you would have sawed a thousand dollars and then maybe 11 or 1200 for the s20 ultra as opposed to a thousand eleven fifty, and I think it's eleven, fifty or eleven hundred and then with 13 1400 crazy for the ultra. So in terms of price and what you get for this.

It's not bad. It's not bad at all and, as I said, this recently got the 1ui 2.5 update. So all the features that you get with the Samsung Galaxy z5g minus the flip specific features is now with the s20. Now you can probably find the s20 I have links in the description below you might be able to find the s20 for like 900 or so especially like on Amazon, and if you do buy renewed or refurbished, you probably can get it for maybe even eight or eight. Fifty.

So again, links will be down description below this phone is 14.49, which is 400 450 more than this phone and 50 more than the ultra, but you're not buying this per se because of the camera you're not buying because of the camera you're not buying it because of the battery you're, not even buying it because of the 5g, perhaps you're buying it. Because of you, you love technology. You are a pursuer and connoisseur of technology. You are buying the flip. For that reason, you're also buying the flip because you like having a tall screen, or you would want a tall screen, six point, seven inches which match the s20 plus this size.

So you know just a little bigger. Let me do that. As you guys see it's just a little bigger. You want that tall screen without having that pocket sore without having that cramped pocket sore this it. You don't want to put this in your pocket.

Furthermore, you want to put this in a backpack, because it's so big, but you don't have to worry about that, because the baby flips closed. That's why you're buying this you're buying the z flip 5g, because you can fold it closed, and you can, it's, and it's somewhat it's somewhat to a degree luxury item right, it's 1449, so you are paying to play in this case, but to me is 1449 worth it. It's tough granted. My experience has been good with the phone battery life is fantastic. The screen is fantastic case in point.

I tweeted it earlier. You may not be able to see until I actually go to settings and no you probably won't there either, no matter how uh, okay, there you go, you can see it there. I took that screen protector off. I took it off myself, it wasn't hard. Furthermore, I remember in my unboxing I said: maybe you shouldn't do that.

Furthermore, I'm I'm just now collecting fingerprints on the actual screen and the screen feels good. The screen feels like glass surprisingly, but I took it off because I was tired of cleaning the screen when it had all them. Uh fingerprints on it because it was like a polymer or basically plastic screen protector and when I also took it off, I noticed a big difference in quality and screen quality like I really could see the screen a lot better, it felt more clear felt more sharp, so removing that, for me, was great now, of course, you know it's at your own risk. If you remove it, I took something that did not mark up the screen and just peeled it at the edge of where it was at the corner of the would say corner but around the camera, and I was able to peel it off from there flawlessly, and I love this screen. I love this phone even more.

It feels like a brand-new phone taking off that screen protector. This one. Likewise, I believe had a pre-installed screen protector took it off immediately, I'm not a big fan of screen protectors. Now again, with the screen protector, the feeling of touching the screen wasn't bad either. I'm not I'm not going to lie it wasn't like it was bad, but you notice a difference.

Another thing that you notice less because of taking that screen protector off is that crease. So with the Galaxy Z flip, you don't notice the crease as much now that I took the screen protector off so when you're just looking at the phone, it's only when you finally hit specific angles where you're like oh wait. What is that oh duh, the crease, so for me, crease, is not a problem. Of course, it's there. I know it's going to be there.

Technology isn't there quite yet where we won't have a crease case in point the galaxy d4 too, but the crease does not get in the way of usability or functionality. So that's one of the things that I do like about the z flip 5g and why? I think I would honestly recommend this over the s20 is because if you want a tall screen- and you want to put in your pocket bam- and let's say, of course we all like big screens and if we can get it where it will fit comfortably in the pocket or in our hand or wherever we are, and it's not an eyesore, and you can put it down on the table. Let people come through and be like. Oh hey, what's that you're like? Oh, this? Oh you know, you know what I'm saying close with one hand, that's why you're buying this phone? It's the same. It's somewhat of a luxury item.

Now I think this is a better price at about 1200 again, because you guys and the donations to the channel I got uh. You know I got it for 1200, so for the price it's for me, it was 200 more, but overall it's 400 more than this I would say, get the 5g model over the LTE model, for the Galaxy Z flip. Do that, because the battery life is better on the 5g model. You know I've had stellar battery life on here now. I have not had the lg LTE model, so I don't know if battery life is that much better over the LTE model, but based off of what I've heard a lot of other people say.

In my experience with the 5g model, I haven't had any issues with battery life and I haven't had any issues with the 4 000 William battery on the s20, with the 120hz redraft refresh rate on. So that's also, a good thing. Samsung has done a much better job in terms of their battery optimization and their software. Optimization. Now I know the note 20 ultra is a different story.

I don't know that some people getting great battery life, some others aren't, but what I can speak to for the s20 and for this z, flip 5g battery life is great 400 149. If you could get a trade, and I'm sure it probably lessens it to 900 to 1000, it's worth it if you can definitely trade in for sure. This is also something that is good if you could just outright get it, but again, if you're looking to invest in the future and foldable technology, the z-flip 5g is the way to go. I haven't had any issues in terms of software. I haven't had any issues in terms of battery.

Furthermore, I haven't had any issues using the cameras, despite knowing that there's a slight discrepancy and camera quality between the two. My complete use for this has been great. I, like I said I took the screen protector off you guys. You guys saw no scratches, and I love that the power button is back built into uh. The fingerprint sensor is built back into the power button.

I love it. It feels good in the hand. Still you can close it with one hand. I know you can bam. You can do that.

You know what I'm saying that was probably my most successful one-handed open of this phone I had ever experienced, but if you don't want to flip phones- and you just want a one- nice solid piece of glass slab get the s20, but if you want to flip and you adore technology, the z flip 5g is the way to go. So that is my review and my comparison between the s20 and the flip 5g. Let me know down in the comments below what you guys think of either device you have you use either device. Are you looking forward to it? Do you trust the fold technology? Yes, you trust the z-flip. Do you trust the z-fold too? Are you sticking with the glass slab regardless? Let me know down in the comments below side note.

You notice how this has always on display. This, too, has always on display. You just don't use it because the phone's closed the phone's folded closed, or you instantly go right into the phone, so you don't even need to use always on display on the flip 5g, it's fun to flip it. It gets addictive. The class sounds good, although I will easily argue the clasp on the zfo2 sounds a little more loud or crisp as opposed to this.

But again the clasp sounds and feels great with the z flip 5 g. So again, those are my thoughts. Let me know down if you guys are even thinking about getting either one. Are you looking forward to in terms of my coverage of the Galaxy Z, flip 5g? You know I have fully covered the galaxy s20 on this channel, so if you guys haven't already go ahead and check out the content on the channel, but again, if you guys haven't already ignite the like button on this video subscribe to the channel, if you haven't already and make sure you guys hit that notification bell so that YouTube informs you when I drop videos, yes, YouTube! Won't, let you know a thing: let's use that notification bell so go ahead and do that right. There put your boy versatile signing out and until the next video wait for you.
