Hello everyone welcome to my channel today. I'll show you the best way to access and watch videos directly from your Apple Watch without your phone and stick around till the end as I'll show you how to access social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube from your Apple Watch. In my case, I'm using my Apple Watch Series 6, but this will work for any previous apple watches. So, let's get started. If it's your first time on my channel, please consider subscribing, as I do regular videos for very smartwatches like this one smartphone reviews, tech, tutorials and much more you'll find a dedicated playlist for apple tech, videos be sure to check it out and if you want, you can support my channel by becoming a member at a small monthly charge, with all the perks that I'll offer click. This join button to check out all the perks of becoming a member also check out some cool merch under the store tab, as well as subscribe to my second YouTube channel for mobile friendly short video content.
So, let's directly start with a free way to watch videos directly from your Apple Watch, and that is yes, you guessed it right via the iMessage. So what you can do is share all the videos that you want to access from your watch to a family member or a friend from your iPhone. In my case, I have this iPhone 12 mini by the way. If you haven't checked out the full review of this tiny flagship level, iPhone 12 mini, you definitely should, and it's linked at the end of this video be sure to check it out. So once you have the videos on the iMessage history, you can easily access that video file directly from the watch.
By going in the message and pull out that chat history, and you can play the video directly from the watch, including the audio, you can even double tap to fill the screen and the same to zoom out. However, the caveat with this is you cannot organize or sort out the videos of your choice, as you can, for the images in the built-in gallery. App I just wished apple would allow videos of your choice to be synced to the Apple Watch gallery. Secondly, it's the clarity. The video is obviously not of high quality.
It's probably compressed, and you can see the image is not clear, but the audio is crisp okay. So the alternate to this is a paid app called witty watch by Atlas limited, for which I only paid three dollars and 12 cents, which I totally think it's worth it. Let me show you why, so this app comes with its mobile counterpart, which you will need to transfer videos, but once transferred you don't need your phone to watch the videos once you have downloaded the app on both your Apple Watch and the iPhone open. The iPhone app now here is where you can arrange, delete, add or order the thumbnail layout. So you can have a list view gallery style view with four nine or one thumbnail preview.
I prefer to have the one with nine thumbnail previews. Well, the app is pretty easy to use and self-explanatory. You can click this plus icon to access the options to add videos from your iPhone's video gallery Dropbox. When you click on Dropbox, the app will not ask you to access your Dropbox. Instead, your iPhone app Dropbox will open, and a temporary link will be created from which this video watch app will download the video.
You can also add a video from files or paste a video URL containing dot mp4 format. Let's go ahead and add one to see how fast the process is. So, as you can see, it does compress the video file, but the transfer process is pretty fast and instantaneous, especially if you are around a Wi-Fi network and the Apple Watch is on a charger once done, you can access the transferred video from your watch directly without the iPhone and the audio quality is pretty decent. Now the video player on the Apple Watch has option to fast-forward backward skip a video forward or backward, and during a video playback you can use the rotating crown to turn up or down the volume you can even double tap to zoom and double tap to zoom. Out again, if you notice the video quality is far better than what you saw on the video in the iMessage.
You can even make out every single details of my business card now to delete a video you again have to go over the mobile app. One thing I noticed is that the delete option is concealed to access the option to delete you have to click on one of the thumbnail, which will reveal its details like the length file size with options like show full screen, auto loop and delete to go back. Your just click done on the top right of the thumbnail. You can even rearrange the order of the thumbnail by click holding on any of the thumbnail and drag it to your desired position. A cool little trick is, you can add this witty watch app on the watch face app shortcut to access the video instantly on the go.
So it's a very good app in my opinion, if you want to have a good quality compressed video right on your watch, then this is your go-to app. Okay with that said, as promised, let me show you how to access social media sites directly from the Apple Watch. Now there are paid apps. That would do this, but I'll just show you a quick, easy and a free way to do that. All you got to do is email yourself with all the social media links that you want to access from your Apple Watch and flag, the email, so you can access it easily from the Apple Watch mail.
App. In my case, I have all my social media links for my YouTube channel, which you will find in the video description, and please consider following me over there to have early access to the giveaways and video content. So, let's start with Facebook, when you click on the link, the hidden web browser will open. I don't know why Apple didn't add a built-in safari web browser app for the Apple Watch. It'll be certainly nice to have it, but anyways you can even log into your Facebook account and like as well as comment to any post, which is pretty cool.
Now, unfortunately, Pinterest doesn't load wire this technique. So let's go ahead and open Instagram again, you can log in securely as well as interact with the Instagram post and stories on the go. Unfortunately, just like on Facebook, you will not be able to play any video file, but you can view the image and like as well as comment and even use voice to text feature to type your comment now. I myself quite frequently use Instagram via this technique and, quite frankly, if you are on a Wi-Fi network, it all works relatively fast and doesn't buffer to load. All this feels quite responsive.
Now, let's try twitter again with twitter. You certainly can log in with your credentials and just like Facebook and Instagram view tweets on the go as well as interact with them with likes and comment. The experience with Twitter is also decent. Please follow me on all these social media networks that are linked in the video description. Now, let's access my official website that is witch tube.
ca, which you guys should check it out. If you like, reading tech, related content and again, as you can see, I can easily access the website completely in a mobile friendly format. The web pages load up pretty quickly, just like it would on an iPhone or a mac. You can even open different web page that are back linked to the main web page. Let's open up the AIDS tube official tee spring merch store where you'll find all the cool merch.
So again, just like the above social media networks, web browsing experience is also top of the line fast and interactive. Finally, let's open up YouTube and see if it works by the way, if you haven't already please consider subscribing to both of my YouTube channel. So you don't miss out such awesome content. As you can see, you can access YouTube, just like the other social media networks, but the major drawback is. You cannot play any video.
However, if you are signed in you can like and comment on a video. I just wish apple added the safari browser for the Apple Watch, as it will make the Apple Watch experience much refined with that said, that's pretty much. It comments down below if you have access to various sites by this method, and how was your experience, so I really hope you found this video helpful. If you did, then please give this video a thumbs up. It really means a lot.
Also. Follow me on my other social media networks for early preview to upcoming videos and free giveaways links are in the description of all my videos thanks so much for watching and take care I'll catch. You guys in the next one you.
