YOU Should Buy the iPhone 12 Mini, And Here's Why!

Recent reports have shown that the iPhone 12 mini is one of the worst sellers in the iPhone 12 lineup, but you know what that's just, because people haven't given it a chance to win them over today. We're going to go into all the reasons why you? Yes, you should go out and buy the iPhone 12 mini so uh. Why is that? Let's find out I'm not even gonna. Look I'm convinced that it's not broken. What's up everyone, I'm the everyday dad and if I can figure it out, you can figure it out. The iPhone 12 mini is legitimately my favorite phone of all time.

I am definitely one of those people that clamored for a smaller phone and when apple gave it to us. I was absolutely thrilled like I said I need a smaller phone apple, and they said here's your 12 mini. The thing is always with me, and it has helped me out so many ways that I really I hope just because it's not selling well right now. I do hope they will continue this going forward in the future. But enough of my sob story: let's get into the reasons that will compel you to see the world as I see it and as a quick disclaimer.

No, I don't actually expect or want you to buy everything in the should buy series these videos they're just my way to share my enthusiasm and positivity for current technology that I've bought, and I love to talk about plus, as that previous line might have indicated. This will not be an objective, video listing out pros and cons. Today you better get prepared because I'm going to be biased as heck. I say that's how fired up. I am we're bringing out the heck word, but enough of that onto the 12 mini.

Let's first show you what you can buy before we tell you why you should buy it. That makes sense right. Knowledge. Knowledge is the real power. The iPhone 12 mini is the same basic phone as the regular iPhone 12.

In fact, you order it from the iPhone 12 page. This comes in a whole range of colors, with blue being the objective best one I mean that's that there's not even a question of that blue is objectively the better one. The base model comes with 64 gigabytes of memory and can be had for 699 dollars. Now you can upgrade the storage a couple of times to either 120 gigabytes or 256 gigabytes with that max version coming in at 849. Let's be clear, though, that 849 dollars it's still cheaper than the cheapest version of the 12 pro for that money.

You do get the brand new a14 processor, a beautiful super Dr display, that's currently controlling the teleprompter and an ultra-wide angle: option for both the front and the rear cameras, but specs. I hate talking about specs, so here we go. The very first reason you should buy. The 12 mini is because of its namesake. This is a small phone.

I wouldn't go so far as to say the phone is tiny, but in my opinion this is absolutely the perfect size. Look at this. This is the perfect size when it comes to an all-in-one magic box that fits in your pocket to really break it down for all the math folks out there. The phone is only 5.18 inches tall, 2.53, inches wide and 0.29 inches thick. That's just a little bigger than one of my solid state drives that I bring with me for travel storage purposes and as a bonus, this only weighs 4.76 ounces. What's cool about this, though, is it's not just an academic exercise? It's not just saying what the dimensions are and then resting on the laurels.

There are actual practical things that make having a phone. That's this small, really awesome. First off it just fits in my pants pockets, so much easier, something that used to drive me absolutely up. The wall. When I had my seven plus was just how much of a pain it was to have such a big phone in my front pants pocket.

It would be a huge hassle to get the phone out of said pocket and when you get a phone that's so wide, it would always make my pants kind of uncomfortable to wear because it would stretch against the fabric and it just it messes up everything about having your phone, and then you're like well, maybe I'll just put it in the back pocket. But then you sit down, and it's even more uncomfortable, big phones. I hate them. I hate carrying around big phones. The mini, thankfully, does not have that problem, even with my case on it's still smaller than any of the recent iPhones, and it so easily fits in just about any pocket or any bag, or any case that you could ever want, and I get beaten up a lot online when I talk about this, but transportability is one of the biggest deals when it comes to phones because they are with us at all times anymore if they are too big.

That is a hassle that you have to deal with practically every second of the day, wherever I am my phone is here. So if there's even the smallest bit of hassle or the smallest bit of friction, I have to deal with that forever. At every moment. Much like YouTube ads. You can't escape your phone like ever.

The next thing I've absolutely loved about the small size is. This is basically the perfect running tool. I run six days a week because that's what's kept me sane in the last 11 months of teleworking, and it's made even better with the 12 mini. Yes, the Apple Watch is my actual fitness tracker. But when I'm running I really like listening to video essays, and you can't do the same kind of listening things on the Apple Watch as you can on an iPhone and with that 2.53 inch width. This is so easy to hold and forget that it's there you've all heard me say this before.

If you've seen one of my phone videos, I hate, I type that all in caps in the script, because I cannot tolerate it. I hate holding things when I'm running, and it absolutely made me very much dislike my 11, the XR, the 7 plus I disliked running with all of those phones. The 12 mini just perfectly fits in my hand, and I don't have to either stretch my grip out to hold it or do something weird where, like I'm holding the screen, like I hate doing this too, because I always feel like I'm going to scratch the screen so just being able to easily and comfortable hold the phone, and, in that same vein, the 12 mini is just so comfortable to hold and use whether you're, using it one-handed or whether you're typing or you're texting or something with two hands. This is just you might think. This is crazy, but I legit cannot stand to use the iPhone 12 Pro because of how uncomfortable it is to hold the extra like density of the phone makes my hand and my wrist actually ache.

After only a couple of minutes of use, you heard I said that in the video that I made just a couple of weeks ago, but here not a single issue. This is, without a doubt, the most comfortable phone that I've ever used. Okay, aster ix. This is the most comfortable phone. Besides those super sweet phones with the built-in keyboards that we used to have.

Unfortunately, those were a tool for a much more civilized time. I would love a phone with a keyboard next reason to buy the iPhone 12 mini the price you might think to yourself Gary with all of this miniaturization going on. This might be a pricey option of getting yourself into an iPhone 12. Well, thankfully, that's an incorrect assumption to make this is actually the least expensive way to buy an iPhone 12. I would have thought that the straight iPhone 12 like the iPhone 12, like nothing else, the standard one that would have been the cheapest, but now the 12 mini, actually beats that by a hundred dollars.

That's awesome. You've all heard me extol the virtues of the iPhone SE from 2020. It has everything great about an iPhone, but for like half the price that price savings is always so good, but here's everything great about the current iPhones for less money, and it's that's amazing. I consider that to be the definition of the win-win scenario for all of us. Thankfully, leads us into our next reason: Gary you're getting good at this like bridging narrative thing, despite it being so much smaller, despite it being less money, you get the full iPhone 12 experience with the 12 mini.

There is no crippling. There are no features. Locked everything is available to you. As soon as you buy the phone, you get, the exact same iOS 14 experience on the 699 dollar iPhone mini that you get on the 1099.12 pro max. Yes, the 12 pro max has some different features and size to justify the extra cost, but the way I consider it is you get more when you pay for the 12 pro, it's not like you get less, because you have the mini face.

I'd airdrop Apple Watch, compatibility, air pod, compatibility, iMessage. Every reason people are always giving on why you should invest in the Apple ecosystem is on display here. I love this. I love this. This is absolutely one of my favorite things about apple in general.

Yes, when you're talking about their phones, sometimes they lack features or higher-end specs that some other phone brands have I. e: 120 hertz, refresh rate screen, no folding, screens or rollable screens. Now I guess, but everything they sell, fits perfectly within the overall system that they make. It doesn't matter how high on the totem pole or how low on the totem pole you get all of their devices work seamlessly together. I could easily gush about this all day long.

I won't, but I could. Furthermore, I don't know if that's a promise or a warning. The next reason why you should buy the iPhone 12 mini is the power. Yes talking about power on a cell phone is kind of weird. Thank you for asking that question, but stick with me here.

I promise this is going somewhere. This is going somewhere relevant phones. These days have processors that no kidding rival the power of actual computers, the benchmarks for the a14 that powers, the entire iPhone 12 line, it's frankly ridiculously powerful. And yes, if you buy one of these phones, all the apps will work smoothly and well you'll be able to play all manner of games and if you are going to buy a phone for video editing, the iPhone 12 line has the ability to process and render high efficiency 4k video files way better than my actual custom-built Windows PC that I, that is not hyperbole. That is a statement of fact, but even with, as great of all of that is yeah.

Who cares? Who cares if your cell phone can process 4k high efficiency files like what power in a phone like this buys? You are longevity. This is, and this is one of the drums that I bang on a lot. When I talk about phone processors, because when is the last time you had a current generation phone or even a phone that was a couple of years old, when have you ever had one that felt slow, spoilers you haven't because, like I said, we've got way more power than we actually need right now in these tiny devices. But what this overhead in power space gets? You are a long update path, you'll be receiving updates for the iPhone 12 mini for years to come. Cough that's another great thing about apple.

Are they continue to push updates to their phones as long as those processors can handle it? You tell me another brand that does that there you don't have to, because there are none, that's not conjecture either. That's not me pulling something out of midair and making it up. The latest iOS update still goes out to the iPhone 6s, the 6s. That phone is the technology equivalent of a dinosaur, but it's still totally relevant and kept up to date for those that have it. So if you are looking to buy a phone that will last you the longest in another couple of years well, here you go, and it's the cheapest a14 phone that will give you all of that stuff see all of these things tie together mutually supporting arguments for the win.

I love making arguments that work together and these work really well together. The last reason I'll give today for why you should buy the iPhone 12 mini, is something else that is so awesome for the price accessory support. This smaller iPhone can use all the same accessories as it's much more expensive and bigger, siblings, iPhone mag safe was a technology introduced for the iPhone 12 line. Where there's like this little magnet, you can probably see it right here. There's this little magnet, that's in the back of the phone and these cases that allow for a wide array of charging, slash data, slash case, slash wallet, slash, etc.

, accessories and much like the power and much like the operating system. The 12 mini, gets all of those too. I really, I really like the MagSafe charger and no okay, it's not specific to the mini, but I love that darn thing. I'm someone that wears at least one headphone a night for white noise. That became a pretty big problem when apple stopped having the headphone jack on the phone, because I needed to pick either having my headphones in or charging my phone at night.

You know you couldn't have both sure in that time. I've since transitioned to the AirPods, but I actually prefer wired headphones here, because one I don't have to play the. Where did my air pod end up today, game which look? That is a fun game to play the first 25 times you play it's a big old blast, but a white headphone on white sheets. That game gets old, real, quick two. I don't have to keep the wired headphones charged and mess up my entire sleep schedule, because I forgot to charge it for a few days, because one of us is scatter brained and three.

Some of those wired options are just more comfortable. MagSafe is also the new way that I charge all of my devices and it's so nice to set things down on it. You just set it down on it and know that it's secure, and it's not going to fall off in the middle of the night because of the magnet I've had legit problems with wireless charging in the past. This solves it for me. Is it true wireless because you have to like sync it up yeah? Who cares? Probably not, but it's so great.

Okay, Gary, you promised you weren't going to turn this video into a MagSafe love fest. Another cool thing is: if you do want to use this for travel work, you can very easily pair a keyboard and a mouse here and even plug this into an external monitor. If you really want to sound funny, sounds like a joke Gary. Why would you want to do that? I really think the iPhone is one of the most versatile devices ever and yes, I'm kind of an iPhone fan. If you hadn't noticed you can easily I'm telling you can easily plug this into a monitor plug in a keyboard and mouse and get actual computer work done on this you're going to say it's silly.

People are going to make fun of me in the comments it's really useful, and it really works, but at the end of the day, so what is right? Yes, you should absolutely buy the iPhone 12 mini. This is incredibly powerful. It's very comfortable. It has a great screen, awesome memory options, and you can even get it in some really cool colors. I love this phone.

Like I said it's easily my favorite phone of all time- and I really want more people to give this a chance, so Apple will keep making these in the future if they don't update the mini line. It's going to take something really special to replace this. For me, I guess if they made some kind of like 13 pro with new materials that made it much more lightweight, so it's not as darn painful to hold. I guess I'd accept that and if you like this video and are now on team, 12 mini, and you're like Gary, I could use some accessories for this good news. Here's a video with all of my favorite accessories, and you can find that by clicking right here.

Click. Click, click, click, click, click, thanks for watching.
