Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro VS Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro (Speed Cameras & Specs) 2021

All right today, we've got the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 pro a know, classic you know smartphone for me at least, and then we have a to me is what's looking like could be one of the best mid-rangers of this year. I think the only real rival might be the Poco f3 and a52. We can compare those in another video um, but yeah, so this is still hovering around 200 bucks on Amazon right now, this one one bay. I bought the wrong one by mistake. Now they have two variants: um. They have a 64 megapixel variant with just the 64 um, you know gigs of storage, and then they have 128 gigs with 108 megapixels.

Now, from what I've seen with the comparisons um the 108 in the 64, the camera quality really doesn't. Look that much different to me. It's not anything I can tell, but I have to see, I have to see it side by side but yeah, so this was 300 with 25 shipping, because it's shipping from eBay, so I'll put those links down below. If you guys want to pick up, you know either one of these phones. All right, so, let's go ahead and start off with the design of both of these phones.

Now, starting with the note 10 pro, this is probably one of my favorite looking and feeling phones currently right now um. It is just awesome- and I said that about the note 8 pro when it first came out as well. It's still one of my favorite colors, this pearl color, that sort of turns like pink um but yeah, just starting with the note 10 pro I think they've made some awesome changes from the note 8 pro. I know I'm acting like there wasn't a 9, but there was a 9, but I like this one even better than the 9, but just keep going. They say, GSM arena has it on here.

It says a glass back. I when you feel it does not feel like glass at all like this, has a glass back, but it feels like glass. This has some sort of like soft thing on it, which it has like a matte thing on it. So you can't see fingerprints, which is awesome, but it really doesn't feel like glass to me um, but yeah. It feels really great in the hand the rails are plastic, it has a great weight to it, and it is just an awesome.

Looking device um, the camera module, does look pretty good as well looks a little more modern. Looking as well has a slight little bump to it um as well, and then they made a really great um. You know adjustment here, putting the fingerprint scanner on the side instead of on the back like on the note 8 pro here, so I really love that move. If you guys watch the channel, you guys know that's my favorite position to put it in um. The note8 pro still looks and feels great in the hand, but I do definitely like this design upgrade.

I think it looks great um. The same button layout seems to be on here: power button volume, rockers, and then we have an USB type c and then the 10 pro has a stereo speaker setup, and I believe you just have a single firing speaker on the note.8 pro headphone jacks down here, headphone jack up top um, so yeah I'm really liking the hardware changes. I think they just nailed it with this phone. Now they made massive improvements to the display. On the note, 10 pro the note 10 pro now has an AMOLED display.

It's HDR 10 120 hertz 6.67 inch 1080p 395 for the PPI. The note 8 pro is an IPS display, 6.53 inches 1080p 395 for the PPI. So that's a massive upgrade, so the note 10 pro looks brighter. It has the punch hole, so it has a more immersive experience, and also it has that high refresh rate as well, which is really awesome. So that is one thing that I really love: uh colors, just look really great on the 10 compared to the eight pros you know, IPS display it's something that I really like.

I think that was a great uh, great move and that's probably one of the biggest like upgrading factors for me would be that just massive uh display quality bump up here. So you really notice the display difference. Of course, when you're scrolling, the 90 hertz versus the 60 hertz you'll be able to tell immediately um just scrolling and swiping through and um. You know: you'll really it'll really stick out when you're on Instagram and stuff like that, then you'll really feel that 120 hertz uh, just the smoothness of it. Now we're running mini 12 on both, but the 10 is running 11 and my 8 is still on uh android 10.

Uh on the 10. We do have the snapdragon 732 g in the arena 618. We also have micro, SD support, 64, gigs of internal storage and six gigs of ram on the note 8 pro uh, we have the hello g90t Mali, g76 GPU micros supports 64, gigs of internal storage and also six gigs of ram as well all right guys, let's launch some applications and see if we see a big speed difference here, starting with temple run Tim pro looks like he got in there first note 8 pro right behind it. All right, Pok?mon Go! Oh, no, a pro got it there subway surf. Well, let's try YouTube first 10 pro got it there.

Yeah, 10 pro 10 pro so not too bad, but the temp pro is, you know significantly. Well, I'm not going to say significantly, but it's noticeably uh faster here. Let's go ahead and launch a heavier game like a pub g. Let's check out those graphic settings as well all right we're in on to attend pro sorry guys. I was reading a text message.

Alright guys here is something pretty interesting. So only note 8 pro we actually have higher graphics settings, so we can go to HDR ultra, and then we still have ultra frame rates on HD on the note 10 pro we have HD, and then we have high. So there is no ultra frame rate on that, and we can't go to HDR. So that is pretty interesting thing that I noticed here. They both play games very well, so I don't have an issue with that.

They both don't like overheat or anything like that, but you will have slightly better settings on the note 8 pro here. So the note 10 pro does have stereo speakers. So, let's see how much better the speaker quality has gotten here smacks out the volume starting with the 10. Yeah, so the sound is way louder. On the note 10 pro it's just a fuller sound.

I guess that's the best way to describe it. It just sounds punchier, and it's overall louder. So that is definitely a really nice upgrade too and um what they did was, instead of it being on the grill. Here, its like got its own little dedicated like little speaker right here, which is something that I really like. So it has a nice little uh punch to it all right.

Let's talk about the fingerprint scanner situation and face unlock, so both of these phones have faced unlock. It works uh very well, but I really love the fingerprint scanner on the note 10 pro here. It's right here by the power button. You just click it and boom you're in it just feels extremely natural. This one, you know your kind of have to pick up and unlock it so like.

If I wanted to unlock my phone, you know I could just set my fingerprint right here and just do it like that. That's why I always say I like that method more because with this you kind of have to pick it up then unlock it. But I do like that method. A little more. Also, there's something uh to note here: um the note 10 pro is ip53 splash proof so um, I wouldn't submerge it in water, but it can get like wet and rain.

I think, if you drop it like in a toilet, I think it'll survive. The note8 pro does not have any type of splash proof at all, so that is a nice upgrade to have too uh. They both have NFC and they both have an infrared port um. So these are two very you know, feature pack smartphones, but you're, getting just a little more with the note 10 pro here all right. So let's talk about camera performance, all right.

So with the note 10 pro here, we have a 64 megapixel standard, and then we have an 8 megapixel ultra-wide 5 megapixel macro 2 megapixel dev sensor, like I said, if you get the um 108 megapixel version, then you'll have that version uh. Then you have a 16 megapixel, selfie camera that shoots in 1080p on the note8 pro you have a 64 megapixel standard, 8, megapixel, ultra-wide 2, megapixel macro and 2 megapixel depth sensor on here, 4k video and then a 20 megapixel selfie camera. So let's actually just look at these photos because I actually want to talk about them instead of just showing you the stills here now for this photo, I took of the little split um, as you can see here, I kind of prefer the note 10s color profile, even though it wasn't super um accurate. I think the note 8 pro was a little more accurate, but detail. Pretty much looks the same here.

It's a little bit softer on the 8 pro, but they kind of took you know identical photos, so not a huge difference there, all right selfie! You can see again not a massive difference. I think the color was a little more accurate on the note 10 pro, because this makes me look a little more pale than I am, but, as you can see, very identical in you know looks kind of the same. So once we get to I'll show you guys a video later once we get to photos like this, then you start to see the big difference and if the note 8 pro looks a little darker, it's because of the screen, it's just not as bright but as you can see way more detail back here, you can see all of that detail. The color of the cat is looks way better, but they both took a perfect shot. It's just the note 8 pro or nothing noway pro.

The note 10 pro is giving you way more detail here and again with the depth sensor, which I was getting really when it comes to green colors. The note 10 pro seems to over saturate um. So you can see you just get a super green, vibrant color, which a lot of people like, and you know April- is definitely more natural, but with that depth. Since I really couldn't tell the difference, even though they bumped up the megapixels, I can't tell really tell the difference in detail uh here now. Here's where I got really impressed.

I put it in put the cameras in a high stress sort of situation here and, as you can see, I can see the sun and sky on the note 10 pro and, as you can see, it's just overexposed and just super bright on the note8 pro I can barely see. You know I can't barely see the sky. I can't see you know the outline of the sun or anything like that, and also just when you zoom in- and this is the ultra-wide. This is not even the um. You know standard camera.

You get more detail with that ultra-wide. So I was really impressed with this photo that that was the photo where I knew they made a perfect jump because it handles these and sort of stressed out situations where you put the camera to work really again same thing, standard lens. You can see a much better photo and then once we zoom in gets super crispy. You still retain a lot of detail. I can see the sky, I can see.

The sun can't see anything on the note, 8 pro kind of glare kind of shot here on the note8 pro, so it did so good. I was really happy with the note 10 pro. I think. That's enough uh, just the detail improvement overall, how it handles uh, the point-and-shoot. You know pictures you don't have to go into pro mode and play and do all that when you want to take a good picture, just pop it out and just take the still and the note 10 pro does a much better job at that, and it also retains just much more detail to me as well see, let's check out that video now for videos pretty much the same thing more detail.

It handles the color better, but overall not a massive difference, but as far as image quality goes the note 10 pro it does take to me. Uh better photos now, here's another significant um, you know improvement here. So with the battery life, we have a much bigger battery, so we have a 5020 William battery. On the note 10 pro 33 watt fast charging, we have a 4 500 William battery on the note 8 pro 18 watt fast charging. The charging speed is a massive difference.

This phone charges way faster than the note 8 pro, which is something that I really appreciate. So the charging speed is alone. Another reason that I would upgrade and also um you just get better battery life on the note 10 pro it's just a bigger battery, so you're going to get more screen on time with this phone as well. Alright. So I definitely think this is a huge upgrade.

I think improved design right one. So that's a great upgrade dual speakers. Great upgrade better cameras, um great upgrade better fingerprint placement. That is also perfect too and um. They got rid of the water drop notch for the punch hole uh, they added 120 hertz.

It's now an AMOLED display um. You know it. They just made all the right moves here. So I think note, 8 pro users should definitely be looking at this phone. Even uh.

The 9 users should be looking at this phone as well. So what do you guys think? Is it worth the upgrade? You got the bigger battery as well faster charging. I think it does. I think it did a solid job here. So what do you guys think be sure to let me know, and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
