Xiaomi Redmi K40 vs K40 Pro vs K40 Pro+: Official Specifications and Thoughts!

How's it going guys vapor here and welcome to a video talking about the Xiaomi Redmi k40 series. This was a very, very exciting piece of kit that I wanted to cover on the channel and with this now officially launched, I thought I'd make this video going over everything. You need to know about the k40, the k40 pro, as well as the k40 pro plus. So, let's start off with all the similarities, because believe it or not, there are quite a few, and one of the biggest ones is, of course, that display the display on the front of the k40 series is a 120 hertz e4 Samsung AMOLED panel, which has an plus display mate rating and HDR 10 plus support, as well as a peak brightness of up to 1 300 nits. But it only gets better here, because this is a 120 hertz refresh rate panel as well as one of the first, if not the first panel on a smartphone with a 360 hertz touch sampling rate. That extra touch sampling rate of course means you're, going to get even smoother video game, playback, and we'll get to that with the processors.

On the smartphones, in just a bit, but aside from that, everything on the display side of things stays exactly the same, which is excellent for value for money. If someone wants a perfect display at a very affordable price tag in the k40, they still get that and if they don't care about the rest of the specifications of the smartphone, they still have that display. The display is coupled with Bobby Atmos stereo speakers, although there is no 3.5 millimeter jack on either of the smartphones. As for connectivity, you're covered with Wi-Fi 6 support, 5g support, NFC Bluetooth. All of that is all on board every k40 series smartphone, which is really, really good to see and coming back to hardware, even though these phones have an AMOLED display, so they could equip an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

They've gone for a side mounted fingerprint scanner on the side of the smartphone. I don't know if this move was intentional or whether it was to make sure that there's some sort of uniformity between all of these devices. That's a bit of a confusing remark on all three devices, but I'm not really complaining, because side mounted fingerprint scanners are perfect as well. The displays also come with gorilla glass, 5 support, so you're covered in terms of durability, and you also get ip53 rating. So it's not quite ip67, where you can.

You know dunk your smartphones in the swimming pool, but it's nice to see even this basic support on pretty much all the k40 series and the last of the similarities between all of these three devices before we move on to the differences is, of course, the battery. It's a 4 520 William hour cell 33 watt charging via type c USB, and apparently this can charge from 0 to 100 in 52 minutes, which is pretty crazy. It's not the craziest out there and this thing doesn't support any sort of wireless charging. But let me get to the pricing segment of the video before you make your full judgment on the series, because that's where things are going to be really crazy. Alright, so with the similarities now fully addressed, let's move on to the core differences between the k40, the k40 pro, as well as the k40 pro plus.

I think the simplest one to start off with is the processor. The processor on the k40 is the Qualcomm snapdragon 870 processors. This is none other than the Qualcomm snapdragon 865 processors of last year, just a bit re-branded and re-badged with a 7 nanometer process, and it's the Qualcomm snapdragon 870. Now it's still very much more powerful than any mid-tier processor that you can find, especially for the k40s price tag, but it's not quite up there when you compare it with the k40 pro and the k40 pro plus, which rocks the Qualcomm snapdragon triple 8 processors. This is a 5 nanometer processor, akin to pretty much every single flagship we've seen this year, so it's going to compete with all the rest, whether it's the 11, the Samsung Galaxy, s21 series, etc.

, etc. That processing difference, though, is still pardonable, because the k40 is priced in China currently available for pre-order, with six gigabytes of ram and 128 gigabytes of storage. The storage is UFS.3.1, which is absolutely phenomenal to see once again really gaming focused it's only for 1999 chinese, one, which translates to just 315 dollars, of course, to ensure that price tag for the k40 you're looking at pretty modest camera specifications. So you only get a 48 megapixel mix 582 sensors on board, alongside an 8 megapixel ultra-wide angle lens and a 5 megapixel macro lens. So that's pretty much.

The only downside for the k40, which is otherwise a phenomenal package, quite naturally, both the k40 pro and the k40 pro plus actually share very similar hardware inside so the k40 pro comes with the 888, as I said, with six gigabytes of ram and 128 gigabytes of storage, and it starts at 435 dollars, whereas the k40 pro plus actually comes with the same specifications, but with 12 gigabytes of ram and 256 gigabytes of onboard storage for 575 dollars, and the only difference between the k40 pro and the k40 pro plus is, of course, the camera setup. Both the k40 pro, and the k40 pro plus, actually share a triple camera setup. Although with the k40 pro you're. Looking at a 64 megapixel primary camera setup versus a 108 megapixel primary sensor on the k40 pro plus, this is Samsung's hm2 sensor on board and the differences are sort of akin to the differences we find with the galaxy s, 21 plus versus the galaxy s21 ultra. So with the hm2 sensor, you're going to get a bigger sensor, which obviously means better nighttime performance, but we'll have to wait and see how much of a real world difference that really makes when you're, using both of these smartphones.

Now, as far as video camera capabilities is concerned, that's one more thing to point out the k40 pro, as well as the k40 pro plus, actually can record in 8k 30 fps, whereas the k40 cannot do that. So, if you're looking for 8k video capabilities on your smartphone well, you might want to go for the k40 pro or the k40 pro plus. That aside, though, you still get the same.8 megapixel ultra-wide angle, camera on the phone, as well as the same 5, megapixel macro camera and a similar 20 megapixel selfie camera all across the board between the k40, the k40 pro, as well as the k40 pro plus. So I think, with that, we've pretty much covered everything that you need to know about the k40 series from Redmi, aside from the naming scheme being a tongue twister, I'm glad you stuck by this video and I hope you found this video useful uh. The pre-orders for all of these smartphones are available, starting today with shipping starting on March the 4th.

So if you want to get one for yourself, make sure you do so, the phones are only available in China. At the moment we don't know anything about international availability, but I hope they come out to the international market very soon, and I'm really hoping I can get my hands on one of these devices either importing it here or any other way, if you're watching from China and want to send me one make sure to reach out. But thank you guys for watching. This was above, leave a comment down below on what you think about the smartphones. I think these smartphones are incredible value for money thanks for watching.

Once again, this was VAB and I'll. See you in the next one adios.
