Voices of Galaxy: Meet the developers working for open and unique Galaxy experiences | Samsung By Samsung

Everybody has different needs, I want to provide personalized solutions. I wanted to try something new. It’s not an app developed for developers. I kept thinking… What do users need? Ah! This is the kind of feature users really want. I really want users to feel that this ‘Galaxy’ is being created with their help. Good Lock is an app that transforms ‘anyone’s Galaxy’ into their very own Galaxy device.

It enables you to remove or add elements not provided by the existing Galaxy setup. Users can redesign their phone using Good Lock, and can also make further requests for decorations and other functions. I believe users increasingly want devices to be customizable. I’ll never forget the day it was launched. The response was incredible.

I remember hitting the refresh button all night. At first, developers played a leading role in Good Lock, but now, the users themselves offer so many suggestions. They suggest so many fresh ideas that we hadn’t even considered. We listen to their voice over and over, believing that what users need is what we need to deliver. Good Lock started with one module called System UI.

But now, every team in our group develops its own app in Good Lock. We have open and free discussion every day. ‘How about this function?’ ‘Should we try this?’ Even different departments have a passion for getting involved. It is not just a mundane function given to everyone, but a function that you can create. Such participation can make Good Lock as a hub of user community.

I believe these endeavors will bring about positive contribution and eventually form a virtuous cycle, creating a great service like Good Lock. The goal of Samsung Galaxy is clear. More interactions with users, but fun and meaningful interactions. Making apps that many people follow passionately. A Galaxy for anyone and everyone.
