Xiaomi Redmi 10X 5G Full Review - Mediatek Dimensity 820 Is A Beast! The 5G Phone Money Can't Buy?! By Marc Yeo Tech Review

Hey guys this is Mario here again and welcome back to my channel. So exactly one month ago I bought a Xiaomi phone which was directly imported from China, the Xiaomi Redmi 10x5g, which I think is one of the most affordable 5g phone that you can really get in Malaysia, so the cost for me to actually get this phone inclusive delivery was only ringgit Malaysia, 1050, ringgit, okay, which was around 260 us dollar. So I really like this phone and I wish that Xiaomi could have launched it globally, instead of just releasing it in China only so it will be a great hit if they release it in Malaysia and other countries. MediaTek diamond city, 820 chipsets is really no joke. So since I touched on the chipset already, let's talk about the MediaTek diam an city 820, so I was skeptical at the first okay on MediaTek chipset, but to be honest, the MediaTek that man city 820 chipsets really blow me away. So the performance of this phone, day-to-day tasks, app opening scrolling, no problem gaming, not problem at all, so you can play 60 frames per second on esport9 but of course on the Chinese.

China version one, and you can play smooth ultra setting on the PUBG and for mobile legend. High frame rate mode is not a problem also. So let me pause the video to show you guys, one by one, so right now guys I'm actually on asphalt 9, but this is actually the china version. So let me show you guys on the setting, and here you can see that it actually supports okay, here, 30 frames per second 45 or 60 frames per second, so it shows the that this MediaTek 820 chipsets is actually very capable. So let me show you guys on PUBG and also mobile legend, so guys I'm on PUBG right now and let me go to the setting.

So, as you can see here, it actually supports smooth ultra too bad there's, no smooth extreme and balance HD, okay, but there's no HDI number, so the most they can go, which is the best to me, is actually smooth. Ultra, so let me go to mobile legend next, so guys, right now, I'm on mobile legend, and let me go to the settings so, as you can see here, you can play at high graphics, okay, even at a high favorite mode. Also, you can be enabled HD mode and shadow everything can be enabled. So I mean this is actually not bad. Okay, all right.

Let's move on to the next one, so guys after you have seen the graphics settings of some of the games that I play except for mobile legend. I just download it just to show you guys that you can play on those settings and next one is actually just to show you on the android score. As you can see here, okay, it actually, I actually ran this twice so average day, I'm getting at this uh at this score, 393k, which is not bad and also putting it in between snapdragon 845 and 855 performance. So this is actually quite awesome. Let me load yep, so this is actually my device, so it actually stays between the pocket f1, which is actually running snapdragon, 845, okay and the Redmi k20 pro, which is uh snapdragon 855, as you can see so uh, and this phone actually has a liquid cooling technology within it.

So gaming for a long period of time is actually not a problem and, of course, you will feel a slight warm at the back, which is actually not alarming and number two. Let's talk about build quality, shall we so the front and back of this phone is actually made of corning gorilla, glass, 5 for better protection from scratch and drop, and also the frame is actually made of metal, which is uh, give you the very premium feeling- and it has a 6.57-inch AMOLED screen by Samsung, with full HD resolution that supports HDR plus content. So look at the screen, it's stunning looking wow and the maximum brightness can go up to 800 nits. So it's not a problem to look under bright, sunlight, okay and the weight of this phone is actually 205 gram with nine millimeters of thickness. It's a bit heavy okay, but it's actually very comfortable to hold on your hand due to the even distribution and as you can see here, the curve is actually the back is actually curved.

Okay and the back is actually matte finish. Okay, it's actually similar to what you have on iPhone, 11 and 12. So it's less fingerprint, magnet and number three. You have the triple camera setup. Okay, it's actually one two and three.

This is actually the flash, and you have a 48 megapixel main shooter, a megapixel for 119 degree, ultrawide and 8 megapixel depth sensor. So for video you can actually take 4k at 30 frames per second and 1080p at 30 or 60 frames per second, but unfortunately there's no OS, there's only as, okay, electronic image stabilizer and as for the selfie camera, it's actually at 16, megapixel, okay, but this 16 megapixel camera can only shoot video up to 1080p at 30 frames per second and for the video modes right. You actually have a picture. You actually have night mode. Furthermore, you can actually do okay, vlog, slo-mo long exposure and clone and daytime photography is actually good.

As always as well as the ultra white, camera can also take very nice picture under good lighting, and next one is actually connectivity. So call quality and data connection have been very good. It's great, so I managed to get voice over LTE after updated to new air trough on my digit sim card. So but this maybe this is a china version. I only managed to get 4g okay instead of 4g plus.

So the same goes to the yes sim card that I just put in okay. Let me show, so this is actually a yes 4g sim card, okay, which support uh, voice over, LTE, 4g plus, but on this phone it only gives me 4g all right, and I would love to show you that the 5g capability on this phone- okay, because this phone is actually able to support dual 5g signal at the same time, but unfortunately we don't have 5g in Malaysia, yet so or else I'll be excited to show you guys. Its capability and GPS signal has been very strong, okay log within seconds, and this phone also supports Bluetooth, 5.1 and the internal storage support, UFS 2.1 for faster data. Transferring and oh yeah don't forget the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, which is still around here, a rapid, so number. Five due to this phone has MLI screen.

It supports on-screen, fingerprint unlock. Okay, let me show you which is actually fast and accurate okay, so I don't really use face unlock on my phones, okay, which this one actually support, especially right now, when most of the time we have face, masks all the time. So it's actually not practical and number six. This phone actually has 4520 William hour battery, even though it's actually quite small, I mean in 2020 standard battery. Life has been great so screen on time.

Eight to nine hours with two days of battery life is actually not a problem, of course, without gaming involved, not everyone actually game on phones right and with the inbox 22.5 watt charger. You can actually charge this phone from 0 to 100 around 80 minutes. So, lastly, this phone actually support sip rating. Okay, it ip53 splash proof, so not that I bring my phones for streaming whatsoever, but it's still good to have, especially at this price point. Okay enough with the pros.

Let's talk about the cons. First, it's actually the front screen design. If you can see here, okay, let me open google app. Okay, if you can see here, the bezels are actually quite huge. Okay on top at bottom and the slides, I don't really like the top left and right.

Okay, the round dish design, as you can see here, is a bit roundish. It's actually quite unique, but not to my lagging and for the front camera. The dual drop notch is actually so 2019, so I prefer something like the control design, which is more 2020. Okay. Second, due to this, phone is actually directly imported from China.

It doesn't have Google Play Services pre-installed due to the regulation in China, but it's very easy to install google play in China version Xiaomi phone- you guys can actually refer to my previous video, which I put the link in the description below on how to install google services. But this is not the main issue so, due to this phone, it's actually made for china market. Only some global apps might not work correctly or work at all. For example, WhatsApp. Okay, when I first install WhatsApp, there's no push notification until you really click into the app okay.

Finally, I managed to solve the problem by updating the link updating this phone to the latest. Google Play Services via APK installation, okay and Netflix app. If you search from Google play, it's actually not available, so it's not available so, but I managed to install Netflix okay via APK file, and google map also falls close on this phone. I managed to solve it by updating to the latest google service framework app via APK installation, but fortunately waste is working, fine, okay flawlessly and some apps, like the McDonald app, not this one. Okay.

So, as you can see here, it recognized this phone as not safe, but my guess is actually recognized it as rooted device so and some, so that's why it's not working here, and some banking apps also might recognize this one as rooted so but well. Some banking apps might be able to use on this phone. But of course, please use the banking apps on this. China version, okay at your own risk. So talking about camera, okay, number, three and the night mode of this phone is actually a bit disappointing.

Okay, uh, it's actually below my expectation, and I hope that future firmware updates can actually improve this other than that. The cameras of this phone is actually quite good, so number four uh. This is just me picking. This phone has only a single fire, a single bottom firing speaker. So it will be more perfect if it has dual speaker setup.

Okay and the loudness of this phone is actually slightly above average. Okay, but the bass is actually not bad. I will give a b plus for the speaker, so there you go guys. My full review on the Redmi 10 x, 5g, if you guys, want the phone with good gaming performance, AMOLED screen. Okay, good great AMOLED, screen dual 5g capability at the budget.

Okay, assuming that you guys can get it around USD 250 to 160, okay and import it to your country, then go for it, but if you guys are worried about some google apps or your local apps, like banking apps not working properly on this phone, then maybe skip this phone okay and go for other phones. For me, I use this phone for gaming, mainly and also for testing and review. So it's not a problem for me. Well guys, thank you for watching this video took me some time to write up the review.
