Which Watch? Samsung Galaxy Watch3 vs Apple Watch Series 6

Well there's a lot of choice when it comes to fitness and smartwatches out there, and I think, probably the two leaders, if I had to make a choice, would obviously be apple and Samsung. Today we're looking at the Apple Watch, 6 series and the Samsung Galaxy 3 watch it's kind of funny how similar they are in price and specs. It's like they almost have some sort of psychic connection when they're developing these uh things on the product and marketing teams. The big difference between the two I think first out of the gate, is that the Apple Watch will only work on iPhones and the Samsung watch gives you a little more flexibility. You can load the app uh, the company app onto android phones and Apple iPhones. That being said, if you wanted to get a little, technical apple does have a new feature where you can actually set up an Apple Watch on your friend, even if they don't have an iPhone.

But then they don't get all the different types of features that you might want. As far as the fitness features on here, both do have the accelerometers and step counting. They have the heart rate. Sensors both have the ECG capability as well, and that's the one thing you have to check when you are purchasing any of these types of fitness. Trackers that are out in the market.

Do those features actually work in the country you're in here in Canada, uh, the ECG does work with the Apple Watch Series uh with some Samsung stuff. Sometimes it takes a while for it to be certified by health, Canada. Before it becomes available on the watch itself. They both have fall detection, which is great for elderly folks out there. If you do fall down, it can tell that it was a hard fall and if you don't get up for a set period of time, it will call either 911 or your emergency contact.

They both have blood oxygen, sensors, uh capability built in to them as well. So you can actually see how much uh your oxygen, uh and blood is saturated, uh down to a percentage point. I've tried it out on the Apple Watch. I don't really know much about blood oxygen sensors, but it seemed to work quite well again. Those both have to be certified uh with health, Canada.

The Samsung watch takes it a step further and again this isn't available. Yet, but apparently sometime in the future, you will actually be able to get a blood pressure reading with the watch as well. You'll notice, as far as the form factor there's a difference in sizes or shapes here. The Apple Watch still retains its rectangular face uh and the Samsung watch has the circular face. I know a lot of people prefer the circular face because it looks more like a traditional uh watch.

It is beautiful, there's no question! You know you can get a number of different faces for it as well. That actually make it look even more like a real watch with the Samsung as well. They've got an interesting rotating bezel here. You can actually rotate this to go through all the different apps and the features here as well- and I think I have this upside down there- we go uh right now. You can see I'm on the workout sides.

They both know when you're doing certain types of workouts uh, the Samsung watch actually even has apparently 130 workouts that you can work out with using a phone and then casting that to a TV we're going to see that type of functionality coming with the Apple Watch in the fall of 2020, with the new fitness plus subscription. So it looks like they're really taking the whole fitness area very seriously. Now and it'll be interesting to see what Samsung does to counter the fitness plus subscription service. As far as the overall size, this is a 45 millimeter. This is 44 millimeters.

When you have them both here, you can see that uh, you know. Obviously the shapes are different, but they are very similar in size on your wrist. As far as the thickness, I would say, they're both again very similar in thickness size as well, so it basically just comes down to what ecosystem you are in. I typically find the apple crowd will probably stick to the Apple Watch, because it's just really tightly tied in there, but I do love the uh. The capability of the Samsung watch being able to play on both sides and pretty well have all the features as well, so, whether you're, an android user or an iPhone user, the Samsung will work quite nicely on both similar prices.

The Apple Watch coming in around 569 Canadian Samsung Galaxy 3 coming in around 5.99. So again, this depends on what ecosystem you want to play in, but you can't really make a bad choice either way. You.
