Unboxing Apple Watch Series 6 - Don’t Buy It!! By Daniel About Tech

How's it going everybody you're watching that about Zach, and today I'm going to unbox, the brand-new Apple Watch Series. Six and, as you guys can see here, this is the space gray, 44 millimeter model, but more than that, more than the whole unboxing experience. I'm going to explain to you why you shouldn't buy an Apple Watch Series 6. , you just shouldn't, get one of those devices, regardless of the size or the color, and I'm going to do that by comparing the series 6 to my series 5. This is my daily driver. This is the Apple Watch.

I use every single day and after the unboxing I'm going to compare those devices, I'm going to do a little head-to-head comparison of the series, 5 versus the series, six, and then you're gonna, understand why this is simply just not worth it. Okay. So without further ado, let's get started okay. So, let's start with the unboxing and just one thing to keep in mind: uh the Apple Watch Series 6 starts at 399 for the 40 millimeter model, the small one and 429 for this one. The 44 millimeter just keep in mind this value.

This is going to be very important later in this video okay. So let's pull out this tab, always very satisfying and, like everyone loves doing these unboxing right. So let's put it to the side, and then we have those little tabs um. This design here has been around for a few years. Now it started with the Apple Watch Series four and, as you guys can see, you lift it out like that, and then you do the same thing on the other side, and then it's just going to unfold, and then we're going to have all those images and pictures of different Apple Watch styles, as you guys can see here we have the unit itself.

The Apple Watch Series 6 itself here, let's put it right here, and then we have the band and, as you guys can see, this is the black Apple Watch. The space gray Apple Watch with the black band, as we just saw a few minutes ago, and then this is just the wrapping paper. We can put that to the side. We don't need that and then let's go ahead and open up what matters. So, let's start with the main box right here where the Apple Watch lives.

So we just lift this top lid off the box, and then we have a few things right here. So the most important one, as you guys can imagine, is the Apple Watch Series 6 itself, I'm going to leave it right here we're going to have a look at that in a second and then, of course, we have some paperwork and information so designed by apple in California and then nothing else here on the paper, and then we have just a few more information, basic information on how to connect your bands and then buttons and how to charge and then very, very simple and basic information that we don't need to right and then on the rest of the box. We just have the cable, so that's it! So, as you guys can see here we have the cable and the power adapter. Of course the Apple Watch will sit here and connect. This is the usual Apple Watch, connector charger, we're all used to it, familiar with that, and if, if you think something is myth is missing, maybe like uh where's, the charger shouldn't it be a charger here.

Yep, as you guys probably have heard apple, is changing, and it is cutting the chargers from every single of their new products. So there will be no charger on the Apple Watch Series 6 same thing with the iPhone 12 12 pro, and everything like that. So just the charger, just the cable, just the cable itself, not the power, brick anymore. Okay, let's put that to the side as well, and then let's have a look at the Apple Watch itself and, as you guys can see here, it comes with this little cover to protect it. It is a little different from previous versions.

Um. It is a more uh soft material. I'd say like it resembles leather, a little like fake leather. It used to be something like uh Alc?ntara. Before do you know Alc?ntara from cars like if you do know, you know what I'm talking about so remove it and, as you guys can see here, the Apple Watch Series 6 in all of its glory and again space gray.

So it's the darker color, and you can see all the details and everything that you want to see on this brand. New Apple Watch uh design wise as you can imagine. It is exactly the same as of my Apple Watch Series 5, and it is the perfect time to actually start and compare those two guys. Let's talk about Apple Watch Series, 6 versus Apple Watch Series 5. , I'm just gonna, set this up, and then we're going to see how they stack up against each other.

Just one very important thing: you may be asking yourself: okay, you're, not opening the band yeah just because the band is the exact same package and accessory as it is from the previous five years. So there's just no point opening it up. You just open it up. You see three bands, so you have this one and two different sizes for this one. There's just no point: okay, so again, I'm going to boot this up, set it up to my iPhone and then compare this to my series.5. , let's go okay! So, as you guys can see here we have the series 6 and here the series 5, which is my daily driver, as I mentioned so one thing before we begin, and I think it's very important.

Let's talk about pricing. As I said, this starts at 399 for the smaller 40 millimeter size and 429 for this one, the big million millimeters, whereas this one, okay uh, you can't buy it straight from apple anymore. It has been discontinued in a way, but at the same time, because of that you can get up to a hundred dollar discounts on this device, so 100 and by the end of the video, I'm gonna, ask you uh. Do you think this is 100 more worth? Then you guys will answer me. Okay.

So now that we know the pricing, let's talk about design and, as you guys can see, the design is exactly the same. Those two devices are identical. They look exactly the same from the outside, so they have the exact same screen size, the same bezels, okay, so the bezels are exactly the same. If we go here to the home screen, you guys are going to be able to see that better. The quality of the display is also the same, so you can't really tell them.

Apart from the display on the side, we can see the digital crown, and we can see the power button and also a microphone both those devices are compatible with ECG. If that's important to you on the back, you guys can definitely tell there's a small difference, but I said there's no difference on the outside, because this is going to be facing your wrist. So then, you won't be able to see, but, as you guys can see, we only have one big sensor here on the series five, whereas on the series six, we have four different lights and that's because of the blood oxygen sensor, we're going to talk about that a little later, uh on the video and on the other side, as you guys can see, we have two speakers, so we have two speakers here on the series. Five two speakers here on the series: six and that's pretty much it is so on the outside, as you guys can see it's the exact same thing now. Let's talk about the features now, let's talk about what makes this the new one? What which new features this one has that this one does not: let's go! Okay.

Now, let's talk about the differences between the series, five and the series. Six starting with the always-on display, so apple claims that the Apple Watch Series 6, the new one has a 2.5 times brighter, always on display than the series 5. So now both of them are in the always on display mode, as you guys can see, they are darker to preserve energy, where, while they're still showing you information, as you guys, can see the display on the series, 6 is a little brighter, I would say maybe 30 percent brighter definitely not 2.5 times, and it is actually a little more pronounced through the camera. If I'm looking at it directly, it's honestly a little hard to notice the difference between both displays. Now, let's talk about the new processor, so the series 6 has the s6 processor, whereas the series 5 has the s5, but again it's one of those things that it is not very easy to see uh from the naked eye.

Actually, what you can definitely tell is this will probably age a little better than this after two years. This will probably be a little snappier than this one, but on day one on the first time using it. You definitely cannot tell the difference if you open something like settings or the calculator or something the animations are the same. The speed is the same. The watch responds exactly the same way.

You definitely can't tell the difference between both of them is just as light in proof. It is not a big overall change. We also have a new chip here on the Apple Watch Series, six on the new one, which is called the u1 chip uh. The chip is not brand new, okay uh. This has been featured in the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 pro max, and it would allow it would enable short range wireless location to support new experiences.

That's what they call, but honestly, we don't have really new features, new apps or any new functionalities because of this new chip. Yet it's pretty much only for airdrop uh we've seen it on airdrop, but it doesn't change a lot. So honestly, I wouldn't buy this Apple Watch because of this new chip. Just because of that, because we haven't seen what it is capable of. So it's maybe a promise for the future.

But for now it's not a big deal. Also, the series 6 has support to 5 gigahertz wireless connection, so five gigahertz Wi-Fi bands so uh. If your watch is connected to Wi-Fi a lot, this could be interesting if you have a five gigahertz band wireless router, and everything like that. I honestly don't see this being important, because my Apple Watch is always connected to my iPhone. So I just don't see a point of course.

We also have the blood monitor app, so the new feature, the oximeter here on the Apple Watch. So if that's important to you, this could be interesting. I'm just going to test it out very quickly, so I'm going to start and see how it goes. So, as you guys can see, my blood oxygen is at 97, which is okay, it's just normal uh. If that's important to you, if knowing your blood saturation levels, your blood oxygen level is important to you.

For some reason, this is a new feature that only the series 6 has to me. I would just use it once or maybe twice to show friends also. We have an always-on altimeter but again like this is a very niche specific feature only if you like, hiking or tracking, or things like that, this could be interesting. Having your altitude always on the display, while you're doing a hike or something like that again, there's nothing. I do, and I think 99 of the population just don't do that sport, so it's very niche, very specific feature, and last but not least, charging the Apple Watch.

Series 6 has slightly faster charging overall, so uh, if you like, the ability of your apple was charging a little faster than your series, 5 or 4 or 3 or whatever. This could be interesting to you, um, honestly, if you're like me, and you charge your Apple Watch overnight, it just doesn't make any difference. But again, if you like, charging your Apple Watch on a pinch like if you like to get 20 30 very quickly, this new feature could help again: it's not a ton faster. It is just a bit faster to charge your Apple Watch, so that's pretty much it um. Those are the differences.

This is actually the full review comparison of the Apple Watch Series 6 to the apple ware series, 5 again unboxing and then comparing them side by side head to head, and you tell me do you think those features that I mentioned are worth 100 uh. Are they worth the upgrade because to me, they definitely aren't? I'm super happy with my series.5. uh. It delivers everything. I need absolutely all the performance.

All the feature features all the battery life. Absolutely everything the always on display is great. It just works perfect. So to me, I just would rather like save those 100 and then spend on something else, but so again- and this is why you shouldn't buy an Apple Watch Series 6. In my opinion, you should get an Apple Watch Series 5 instead or an even older one.
