TCL 20 Pro TCL 20 S, TCL 20 SE Hands On Comparison and Unboxing

What is going on guys welcome to Gregor's TV. I have three phones from TCL um, and they are very, very inexpensive phones, but they're actually full of features. I tried the 10 series out last year and walked away very impressed, and the 20 series is looking very, very good as well and in this video it's more over. This is going to be kind of like a very high overview of what comes inside the box for each of these phones and also just a general kind of overview, a quick, a look at these phones, but over the next days and weeks with these phones, I'm going to do individual videos on each one, complete, complete walkthroughs, as well as comparisons more in depth again throughout the days and weeks that are to come. So let's talk about these phones. First, we have this phone, which is the uh TCL 20se.

This is the least expensive phone. It goes for 189.99 super inexpensive phone. Next we have the TCL 20s that goes for 249.99, so you can see how you know inexpensive these phones are, and then lastly, we have the tcl20 pro, which is the primes premium of the phones, and you can feel it in your hand and in the performance overall when you play with it at 499.99. So let's take a closer look at first, the 20s e. So you saw the phone and see what it looks like just do a quick little look around.

You do get a headphone jack at the bottom. You get your volume keys right here and your power button at the bottom of the phone. Furthermore, you get speakers and an USB c charging port and on the left, you get this kind of smart button, I'm currently at the time making this video- I don't know if they're going to push a firmware update out for it, but it only launches your Google Assistant when you hold it when you press it, it also does the same thing when you double press it, it doesn't do anything. So it's not customizable at the time of making this video for it. You get a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone which I'll show you that real, quick, the speed and accuracy of it very, very good.

It also has faced unlock which there you go face, unlock works great, and then you get your cameras up here. Four cameras, so very, very nice phone plastic. But you know plastic, isn't going to crack if you drop it, that's the nice thing about that phone. So, let's take a closer look at what some comes inside this box. So inside the box you do get an USB c cable and then also a charging brick, some terms and conditions.

But the great little feature is they give you a case now the case isn't going to win any awards of protection or anything, but at least they give you a case which is always nice to help with scratches and uh just with the phone grip overall processor inside this is a Qualcomm snapdragon, 460, 128, gigabytes of storage, four gigabytes of ram. So in terms of performance and things, it's uh, you know not too bad when you, when you mess around with the phone before we show you a little more of the performance, I do want to show the pre-installed apps, which are basically nothing really I mean you do get your Google apps and pre-installed. Netflix came pre-installed beyond that YouTube music, but you get your Google apps, um switch phone app, but otherwise not too bad a lot of bloatware on here, which is great. You would expect you'd get a lot more um on this one because it is a budget phone, but you know what you don't and that's a great thing on the front here: uh you're going to get this display is all these displays are actually huge, but this is the largest 6.82 inch display on here. So really, really big, and you have the teardrop camera design on the front there in terms of performance, we'll let up a website get the android police website loading up here, give it a second longer- and I will admit you know after using these phones, I can totally tell, even though this says a snapdragon 460 and that's obviously not one of the top processors.

It runs pretty well, but you can definitely feel day-to-day usage, a difference between these phones when you're using, but you can see just basic tasks like web browsing and things like that. It's pretty fast. None of these screens. None of these phones have like 90, hertz or 120hz displays. All of them are 60.

Um, but you know this isn't again not that bad at all load up the Google Play Store real quick go into this Pok?mon game. Here. Click on that so not too bad. Let's open up, uh, Instagram and Twitter on here actually load up twitter logged into twitter load that up check out. What's going on in the tweets check out my boy mark swim see what he's up to there.

You go. Click on Mr tron see what he's up to so. Lastly, let's load up a YouTube: video, real quick. Can, let's get into the tips and tricks check this out. It goes for 3.99 and if you want to know more about it, and it runs 5g as well, so let's jump into it so first tip and trick press and hold and a blank spot on the home screen and choose home settings in here. There's a few things you can go on and turn on.

So first, you have going back here, you're going to see the next one. It's like black and it just makes everything. Sometimes you should get better battery life. This is going to be where you can turn so. You can definitely tell when you kind of turn the screen to an angle.

It definitely gets pretty dark, so the angles aren't amazing. Speakers are just okay, but you know for 200 bucks. As you know, it's just playing with this, for you know a little. It's actually not too bad. The screen's, pretty vibrant.

Overall next we'll check out the TCL 20s. This goes for 249. You see the cameras on the back headphone jack at the top power buttons and volume buttons. I should say here, and you have a button on the side here- that acts as a fingerprint sensor, which works very, very well, and I have to admit I got. I went from having my fingerprint sensor, the favorite on the back to now on the side.

Furthermore, I absolutely love it and I think it works fantastic. So I'll have no problem with that. It also has the same kind of smart button on the side, but um again, it's only going to launch Google Assistant. It's not going to uh, you know be able to be customizable at the time of making. This video speakers and USB display on here is a 6.67 AMOLED display with a full HD plus resolution I probably should have mentioned, but the uh s e has a 720 p resolution display on there. As for a performance looking at a snapdragon 665, it's going to have four gigs of ram 128 gigabytes of storage.

All three of these phones- I should mention as well- do have expandable storage. So if you want micro, SD card expansion, storage on here, they allow for it, which is amazing for these phones. So, let's open up a few things on here, we're going to open up a website. We've got this: let's open up, android police, alright got the android police website open, or it's loading up, kinda still, but anyways, we'll roll into some of this stuff. Here you can see just scroll quickly, scrolling through and then let's click on this Lenovo article and check out that and works pretty well, there close it up for the most part, and then we'll click on this Zoom app for chrome and see how that works and uh no real issues with that.

As for uh, the pre-installed apps again, all these are pretty much have. It seems to me anyway, the same pre-installed apps. You got Netflix on there. You got your TCL couple of TCL apps, you have some google apps, that's pretty much it! It's not cluttered with crap. For the most part there are these games installed.

Let me just make it. I don't even know what this game is. Let me make sure see if I can uninstall this game or not go into app info, so I cannot install it, which is good for me. I'm not going to play that game, but otherwise it's not too cluttered with uh with apps on here. Let's just open up Instagram real quick got Instagram opened loading.

It up. Click on my buddy here one shot world run through his feed, runs pretty well. Click on Bethany check hers out. So you know all that kind of stuff works perfectly fine. Next, let's open up a YouTube video, we'll launch up that same video.

We launched up last time or set a schedule. Maybe you wanted to max out the speakers or something like that you can come in here. Speakers do sound better on here. The angles are a little better as well. It doesn't get completely blacked out like on the uh.

The SC does so the screen's definitely better for whatever it is 60. Both speakers on these aren't the SC and the s aren't bleeding loud uh. So keep that in mind, but you do get the headphone jack. You obviously get Bluetooth as well, for both of these, the screen is definitely better on this s version as well and um. You know, overall, you know you're getting another, a large display on here you're, getting that 6.67 inch display huge batteries on both of these phones. Well again, I'll do more in-depth stuff, but uh not a bad little get here, and the quality of this build definitely feels better as well.

It looks you know, cooler, just a better overall look on these phones and then quickly. Let's just check out what comes inside the box for this phone, you got your charging cable, you got your charging brick and in here again you get a case and I love seeing that and then some terms and conditions and then lastly, let's just check out this one, which is the TCL 20 pro. This is a 5g phone. So if you want 5g, this is the one you're going to want to get uh and then beyond that, it's just a better premium phone. It's got the curved edges, the better display, it's just a better build completely.

Overall, it does come with headphone jack you're. Going to get your smart button on the side here, which is customizable, so that's a cool thing, and you can make it do multiple things you can press and hold it now. Have it opened up, Google Assistant, or you can double press and do something else. You can press and hold it. You can triple press it and have it do something else, and I'll show you that if you go into settings real quick, if you go into the buttons and gestures go into smart key, you can see you can do different things.

If I want to double press, I can turn that on and I can have it do. Basically, whatever I want to take a shot of a photo of something optimize, the device show hide something turn the flashlight on. Maybe that's a that's a good one, so I just double press it, and it turns my flashlight on and off. You can triple, like, I said, triple press it, so it's very nice to have that. The buttons on the side here are great.

Your fingerprint sensor is on the display. I'm always not always a huge, I'm, not always a huge fan of the fingerprint sensor, underneath the display um, but this one you can see it works pretty. Well all these phones have faced unlock as well, and they all work pretty much the same in that regard, at least for my little short amount of testing. You get cameras on the back at the bottom USB and a speaker just a very for 500. Bucks feels very, very premium, especially compared to these phones, but just even if, even if it know, uh was just you were just holding your hand, you would still think it felt pretty premium for that matter.

Performance is gonna, be better on this phone as well, because you're getting a Qualcomm, snapdragon, 750 g, so you're going to get a know better performing phone overall which, if you want the best, especially from TCL, this is going to be the one you want to get 6.67 inch, AMOLED, full HD plus display and then also for storage, you're, looking at 256 gigabytes of storage, six gigabytes of ram and then again, just to remind you again, all three of these phones have micro, SD card expansion. As for running through this, you can see it's. This phone just feels a lot smoother than the other two it has. It doesn't have nearly as many little hiccups- I would say you know just jumping through apps and getting to where you want to be- is a lot smoother on this phone than on the other phones. So if you have the little of extra bank, this is probably going to be the one you want to get overall um, where it's a pretty freaking solid phone.

Let's click on uh about Mr David enable. I love me some QVC, so why not click on David here, and you can just run through his uh his little feed here, and you can see it's just so smooth the 750g is a great processor overall, with performance and jumping around with different things, open up a website here, we'll go to that same android police site, all right, loading up, android police! Here I got android police loaded up for the most part cycling through you know you still get that still nice, pretty smooth scrolling there Uber pats load that article up go back a step. Click on this one, the red magic, 6r review. So overall, just a know a really nice smooth phone. Let me open up YouTube, or you can just turn it on all the time if you like to have it, and also you can control the color temperature of it by pulling it to the left or to the right adaptive brightness.

If you want your screen, so this one has a single firing speaker a little. It's a little unfortunate, not super loud, sounds just quality of the screen's really nice from basically any angle that you're looking at next, I'm going to show you a real quick photo selfie wise that I took with all three of these phones, so you can decide which one looks. The best hey check this out. Look at this memory card. Isn't this exciting? Does that look good on here? Does it sound good on here? Let me know in the comments down below hey look at this, the Kingston micro SD card.

How does it look in sound? Let me know in the comments down below check it out. Look at this memory card looks great huh tell me how it looks and sounds in the comments down below so there you guys go. There's my quick unboxing and first impressions of these three phones, like I said over the next days and weeks, I'm going to do complete in-depth videos on these phones to give you every little nook and cranny the software and the performance and everything else that you'd probably hopefully want to know about these phones, the cameras and all of that. So, stick with the channel, if you're new to it. If you want to pick these phones up, they have some deals going on with free headphones and all that and the prices are very competitive again 189 for this one, which is the SE 20se, the 20s goes for 249 and then.

Lastly, the pro goes for 500 bucks and uh. You can definitely tell a difference between the three phones, which is nice, sometimes it's a little harder to tell, but you know ultimately uh they all perform pretty well, but these really stick stand out in terms of performance and feel, and this one just kind of leads the way from there on you know from there on forward, but uh, very cool phones, and I'll get more in depth as time goes on. Thanks for watching we'll see you guys down the road.
