Xiaomi Redmi Note 10s review

One of the most popular mid-range series globally, the Redmi Note recently got an upgrade. So it's now time to turn our heads to the vanilla note, 10 s. We are talking about the non 5g version. Here, though, the retail box isn't special by any means it contains the usual user manuals, an USA to USB, cable for data transfer and charging a transparent silicon case, which is pretty hard to put on and remove and a charging brick rated at 33 watts. Redmi Note 10s has a very comfortable size and fits well. In the palm of your hand, I tested the frost white color variant, which is somewhere between a white and a light gray.

It's a nice color option. What I love about the back panel is the matte texture. It has a satin feel and doesn't feel as slippery as a glossy back. The matte texture also keeps it free from annoying fingerprints. The provided plastic cover does a good job of protecting the phone, but the textured feel of the back and the color are lost just like its more expensive sibling.

The vanilla Redmi Note 10s boasts an ip53 certification against water and dust. However, don't expect the phone to be fine if you submerge it into water, the ip53 certification ensures against splashes and rain, for example, as we are still on the back. We can't miss mentioning the rather minimal protrusion of the camera module, even when placed on a flat surface. It refuses to wobble. Like most.

We find the camera designed to be pretty nice too, and it doesn't seem to be bothering us with asymmetry and additionally, the side panel edges are a bit more curved than usual and make the handset feel slimmer, while improving the overall grip flipping. The phone reveals decently sized bezels all around with the bottom one being slightly thicker, which is to be expected. The side frame and the top bezel seem roughly symmetrical. The punch hole in the middle is minimal mainly due to the use of an OLED panel. It allows for a smaller hole for the front-facing camera, and we can definitely say it's unobtrusive and doesn't eat away too much screen real estate.

The switch over to an OLED panel on the front has done wonders for this year's standard. Redmi Note phone, the Redmi Note: 10 s, packs a 6.43 inch, AMOLED, full HD, plus screen that looks glorious. It's also protected by gorilla glass 3 for scratch resistance. The display has excellent contrast and saturation levels with a very accurate tuning with the natural preset activated claimed brightness levels go as high as 1100 nits, though I found that to be inaccurate. In my testing I found the display to peak at about 650 nits, which is still more than sufficient for outdoor viewing.

The only real caveat here is the lack of HDR support. Redmi Note: 10 s has a pair of nice sounding stereo speakers to be fair. We can't be too pretentious about the speakers. As rarely do we see a stereo set of those in this price bracket. We do have to add that the speakers are well-balanced, and the top one is just as loud as the bottom ones.

Note.10 s is the first smartphone to ship with the MediaTek Leo g95, it's a powerful gaming, centric chipset that comes with the Mali g76 GPU and promises to run all your favorite mobile games smoothly. Furthermore, the g95 is a relatively new chip, and not all games are optimized to utilize its full potential yet and since it can handle all your gaming needs easily, it can most certainly handle all your other mobile apps impact without much in the way of stutter, which is pretty immense for a phone of this price. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10s has a 64 megapixel main camera, which is one of its big draws, but there's also an 8 megapixel ultra-wide 2 megapixel macro and 2 megapixel depth. Sensor presents the 64 megapixel camera takes pretty decent, looking pictures when you use it in a well-lit environment. So if you like taking pictures of natural settings or outdoors in any way, this could be a perfect tool for you saying that the pixel size is pretty small, so low light.

Shooting takes snaps that are quite noisy. The ultra-wide snapper takes pictures that are well very wide. As the name suggests. Pictures look reasonable, but there does seem to be a little distortion at the edges of images more than perhaps in other handsets which have distortion cancelling software. As you can expect from 2 megapixel sensors, the macro and depth sensing cameras don't seem super useful macro pictures are pretty Laura's, although they are fairly bright, and we didn't notice the depth sensor having an impact on picture quality when we shot with or without it on the front.

There's a 13 megapixel selfie camera, which is a pretty high re-snapper for a budget phone, and we did think the pictures taken on this looked quite good. If you're, a prolific, selfie taker, this could be a decent phone for you. If you're on a budget, the Redmi Note 10s has an impressive battery, and it gave me around six hours of heavy gaming in regular use. This should last more than a day, if you turn on all the battery saving features and are judicious with your phone use, I can see the battery life stretching to 48 hours. The phone took 25 minutes to get a 50 charge, while a full charge takes a little over an hour and a half.

This is thanks to the included 33 watts fast charger with every new iteration Xiaomi has set a new benchmark with the Redmi Note series for budget class. Pardon me for being too clichéd, but this time too, Xiaomi has raised the bar in delivering premium features in an affordable phone. The new Redmi Note 10s, has impressive hardware: excellent, display beautiful design language, a good quality camera and offers long-lasting battery life. To sum up, it offers more value for money than any phone in its class. You.
