Sony Xperia 1 III vs Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra Speed Test

The Sony, Xperia 1 mark iii may have come out on top against Samsung's and apple's greatest flagship smartphones, but can it outclass the most ultra phone around the Xiaomi mi 11 ultra in the speed test? Well, it's certainly a tough fight on paper, since both the Sony and Xiaomi has Qualcomm's flagship, 5, nanometer chipset the snapdragon triple eight. They both house 12 gigs of rpddr5 ram and they both utilize UFS, 3.1 storage. They both have been updated to their latest available software updates that being android 11 on both devices. The differences come in when it comes to the display, with a 4k display on the Sony, as opposed to a 2k display on the Xiaomi. We have 120 hertz on both devices, and we have made sure to disable all forms of battery optimizations for the apps that we're running through today. I have made sure to keep all animation scales enabled on both devices within developer options round.

One will be all about boot. Time speeds, as well as fingerprint unlock round. Two will be all about initial opening, app speed and round. Three will be all about ram management. We're using my fingers over here, so we pop in GoPro footage at the bottom left-hand corner of accuracy.

This is tech neck and without further ado. Let's go we're going to kick start round one off with a simple boot to see which one can power on quicker than the other one. It is indeed the Sony with 17.5 seconds, as opposed to the 20 seconds on the mi 11 ultra picking up its first point on the Sony side. First point on the Xiaomi side. Now, after first going into the phone and refreshing all app icons quicker than that of the Sony, and now comparing the physical side mounted fingerprint sensor on the Sony, as opposed to the in display one on the Xiaomi, the Xiaomi was quicker every single time over there get up.

At second point, and even though it looked like the Sony was quicker. We weren't looking at the app icons when unlocking the screen per se, but actually, when the wallpaper popped up, because that actually indicates which fingerprint sensor the raw fingerprint sensor speed is quicker, and that was indeed the Xiaomi going into round two over here. Initial opening of app speed, making sure all apps are closed in the background and hooked to the same Wi-Fi network and max brightness, which we checked at the start of round two. The Sony was quickly and opening up settings and the calculator app now two points, as opposed to zero for the Xiaomi and going into the camera app. The Sony picks up its third point flipping over to the selfie.

However, the Xiaomi picks up its first points over here. Taking the snap, the Sony was quicker that time around picking up its fourth point now going into our fourth and final system app, which is the photo or gallery app respectively, the Xperia one mark iii was quicker than opening it up and going into the photo five and then six points really leaving the 11 ultra in the dust over here. I guess it can pretty much off class the king, but there's still a lot of left at the test. Let's not shoot the gun too quick jumping into the Photoshop express app. The Sony was quick and opening up the app and going into the photo which one can export quick over.

Here, if it is the Sony, oh, my goodness, it is really dominating in the mi 11 ultra. It is indeed the Sony saying save to gallery at the bottom of the screen quicker than it said, save to gallery at the bottom of the 11 ultra screens, and we'll go into the next app in a sec if the gestures actually start working on the Xiaomi device going into our next app over here, which is adobe rush, which is a video editing, app jumping into this one. The Sony was quick enough, picking up double digits in its first couple: apps leaving the mi 11 ultra now with two points up surprisingly enough, going into the actual project slightly quicker than that of the Sony going into this video over here, ready to export and render the video. This is a 4k 25 fps clip we're going to be compressing it down to 1080p matching the frame rates of 25 fps, which one can do it quicker. Can Nisha start pulling back a couple of points, and, yes, it does seven seconds, as opposed to 7.5 seconds, on the Sony side so very close to call over here, though, the Xiaomi did indeed get allocated the points over there. Picking up its third point, going into Spotify over here Sony once more 11 points now, jumping into that app slightly quicker going into astral VPN is our next absence.

We need a VPN here in China in order to open up the rest of the apps here. Sony now was quick and opening up astral VPN. You also got to remember that the software skin EOI 12.5 on the Xiaomi is very heavy compared to the Sony which is practically stock android. So you would kind of expect optimizations to be better on the Sony which they really do seem to be when it comes to Facebook over there. Even though the Xiaomi did load the page of contents quicker than that of the Sony, the Sony actually opened up the app quicker.

So I didn't allocate a point to either device going into Instagram over here. The Sony picks up its 14th point jumping into twitter. Now too, close to call that time around very impressive keeping up with the Sony there Xiaomi going into YouTube now, which one can open it up quicker. I guess the more stock android like device kind of guessed it. The Sony 15 points now as opposed to three on the Xiaomi, which is insane opera, pulls ahead once more with 16 points.

This is actually getting boring right now the Sony is thrashing Xiaomi. Oh, the Xiaomi actually opened up my video quicker than that of the Sony that time around. I guess we still have a couple apps, let's not write the Xiaomi off too quickly over here. It was too close to call when opening up Netflix, but the Xiaomi did open up my profile quicker. Oh, what's happening now, five points for the Xiaomi.

Is it making a bit of a comeback going into our first benchmark via geek bench testing out just the CPU was too close to call when opening up the benchmark application itself but running through it, which one can finish it off quicker. It is indeed the Sony with two minutes and 24 seconds, as opposed to two minutes and 32 seconds on the m11 ultra and the Sony had a higher single core card and a slightly higher multi-core cards as well as pulled through the app quicker as well going into 3dmark wildlife, focusing on GPU over here opening up the benchmark itself. The Sony actually picked up its 18th point that time around, since it opened up the app quicker now we're going to be testing out, which one can run through the app quicker once again. The Sony with one minute and seven point five seconds, as opposed to one minute and nine point. Five seconds on the mi 11 ultra with the male 11 ultra, actually getting a slightly better score with 34.1 fps, as opposed to 33.9 fps on the Sony that we're focusing on speed how long it actually takes to run through the test, not so much the score since it's a speed test. So the Sony did get allocated the points get into our first game of four here, which is subway surfers, which one can do it looks like it's going to be.

The Sony, of course it's the Sony 20 points now four times the points of the Xiaomi. The Sony is absolutely killing it right now going into our third last app of the 23rd last game over here temple run 2. Of course. No doubt the Sony, Xperia 1 mark 3 picks up its 21st point, and we have two more games to go. The next one is going to be among us slightly shorter load times and then PUBG mobile, going into the second last game of the four here among us, which one can open it up quicker.

Is it going to be the Sony again and yes, it is Sony again, no doubt 22 points for the Sony five points for the mi 11 ultra. This is actually getting to be a bit embarrassing, since the pricing of these phones are actually pretty similar. So it's not like one is way more expensive than the other one going into pub g mobile over here, candy Xiaomi, no 23 points for the Sony. Okay, 14 seconds with the Sony 16 seconds for the Xiaomi jumping into round three ram management over here, 20 apps open. In the background, can they both keep all apps open in the background so far so good? If they both kill an app? I don't allocate a point if they both keep an app open.

I don't allocate a point. One phone has to keep it open. The other one has to kill it for me to be able to allocate a point so far, they've kept them in all the apps that I've opened so far going into YouTube. Once again, all good Netflix is fine. Geek bench is all good going into 3dmark.

Wildlife is good up. The Xiaomi actually killed subway surfers over there. Getting the experience first and only points for round three, since they both kept the rest of the apps open together, total score here.25 points for the Sony Xperia one mark three, as opposed to just seven for the m1 I'll train. If we focus just on raw speed raw performance round to 23 points for the Sony, as opposed to five points on the Xiaomi, I guess it's kind of an understatement to say that the Xperia one mark iii absolutely destroyed the Xiaomi mi 11 ultra. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section down below this is technic, and I'll catch you in the next one.
