Samsung Galaxy Z Flip vs Motorola RAZR DROP Test!

Hey, what's up guys everything alkyl pro here and here I have the two new smartphones of the foldable future, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, which is so cool and the Motorola Razr, which is a throwback to the original, but I think they could have done better honestly, anyways in this video I'd like to pit them against each other in a drop test. Comparison. Seeing if these futuristic smartphones are ready for a day in your life, and we're just going to be doing the regular and the reason why I'm so excited about it's just because. It's so strange to be doing these. These smartphones came out around the same time, I have to say the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is so much better and better equipped in every area over the Motorola Razr more worth the money, in my opinion, in any case, I'd still like to drop them. This has Gorilla Glass 6 on the screen.

It's a foldable glass can be folded 200,000 times, but how is it when it's dropped? The Samsung Galaxy fold actually did very well in the drop tests with its plastic screen and the Gorilla Glass 6 on the exterior. Didn't even break, so I'm thinking that this one's going to do very well and in a way this is gonna, be our case study to see if a case is even worth it for this smartphone to build and the Motorola Razr I, don't have very high hopes for this. Super crappy build quality. Listen to this every time you unfold it. It makes this ugly sound.

It's just terrible. You can get your fingernail underneath the screen and like lift it up. Android setup has crashed okay. Yes, we get booted straight into the phone, then so, just from the first appearance, I mean it looks way less sophisticated than Samsung's version the displays, not as large plastic. It feels flimsy this feels like a very refined product, as you can see it just crashed.

This is running Android 9. This is Android 10. Poor attempt, Motorola I, feel like this is going to get creamed right now, and it restarted that's a bad sign straight out of the box, but I like it. I, like the throwback design from the original RAZOR I, like that I mean the chin, is ugly, but just the fact that it's a throwback is pretty cool. Definitely not the quality control you would see on Samsung.

This thing is beautiful refined. This is their second generation. They've got a new hinge on the back to keep dust out. You know I trust, Samsung, so much more and the quality's much better, no ugly, chin anyways before I. Do this I want to say: I am giving away three Samsung cs20 ultras details on that down below we're still running our AirPods pro giveaway and the very expensive alter-ego case, so lots of Giveaways your chance to own the big brother of the Samsung Galaxy z, flip.

Okay, I've been eagerly awaiting this. It's a very expensive video, but one I would very much like to do so. I think we're just about ready, and we're gonna start in their folded. States I'm going to drop them from waist height on the side front back and then go from there try and make this quick, because it's its a lot of dropping here, but essentially just how durable our clamshell smartphones like this. What a time to be alive started, dropping phones around the iPhone 6 success era and now foldable smartphones, I, remember when this thing was just a dream and all those YouTube videos you'd watch about Samsung presenting the curveball screen technology.

Now you can buy it for $1,400, it's crazy, okay. So, let's start with the Samsung Galaxy z, flip waist height, three, two one right on the screen and the Motorola Razr three two ones. Obviously you can tell that's plastic a lot of bounce to it. Oh wow, okay, so I did good no scuffs. This is Gorilla Glass 6, and this is all plastic, exterior, plastic, interior and I.

Think what's going to happen is the screen will just fail. It won't necessarily crack or break on both backs. You know three to one that one is good three to one and nothing to report here, because it's just plastic other than scuff j--, alright, holding up quite nicely. Let's do the front facing in a three to one big, smack there three two one and oh that's all it took. Oh, my goodness, so the Z flip got corrupted from a waist height fall.

Your little display still works though, but it's a very thin glass from what I can see. Ouch. That did not take much at all, so I'm a little worried for the interior glass screen, but so far so good it is holding and here nothing to worry about other than the camera lens ring, and we've already had scratches on the plastic screen. Well that hurts I didn't expect it to die that fast, but alright, now in the unfolded position, wow I, just don't like the build quality on this one. You can tell that there's a huge difference.

Just feels flimsy I hate, the sounds yuck all right: Motorola, razor, waist height, open position, 3 2, 1, quite a jump and the Galaxy Z Flip. So what happened last time on the fold was the screen just stopped working? So what could happen here? 3 2, 1, okay, it looks like it's a little of dampening, so it does have these bumpers actually and that's more to set the screen. I want to close this, so it doesn't rub up on each other. That could actually do wonders for durability, also, alright and a survived and uh. Let's do on its back open position here.

Three two one ouch and a three two ones. Okay, now I take note both do you have crease lines, they're a little less apparent on the plastic, but there's more of them and when it closes it like scrunches, the screen I, just don't like that at all. Glass is the way to go, and that's still good Oh a lot worse on the back now, but this lower part is still holding up now. What I suspect is that this can easily be removed and replaced, so I, don't even like this is a big deal feel like I can even just get my fingernail in there and pop up this layer and don't exactly know the process for replacing this, but it doesn't look too complex. It doesn't look like that big of a deal then again we'll a consult.

I fix it to see about that, but so far Motorola Razr is showing us that plastic is the way to go, and you probably need a case for the exterior on this one, and we'll think about making one. We are launching our s, 20 Ultra Series, here very soon it seems like it's butterflying a little, okay, but otherwise. So far, so good, let's do head height face down. So here we go starting with a razor in three two one ouch and the Galaxy Z flip and three two one: okay, okay, so good yeah. So what is happening is the hinges starting to get loose, and it's folding outwards more than it should be, and Oh razor is done there.

It is so even though the screen didn't break, we do have some dead spots and imagine replacing this thing. I, don't even think, that's possible. It's not like a standard smartphone you'd have to replace the entire unit head high. These are very fragile phones from the future. Even plastic screens aren't impervious to damage.

I'm honestly, still surprised that this thing took all that tumble and is still working, but so far so good, let's drop another one, just for good measure. Just make sure it does break here all right. What roll Eraser head height three two one smack in Galaxy, easy flip in three two one Oh, oh wow, that did survive so yeah I think the border here is: what's protecting it, it's not directly hitting the screen, but that glass is surprisingly resilient, even in its bendable form. Maybe that has something to do with its shock, resilience and yeah. This one is still that way.

So all things considered it didn't do as bad as I thought, but it's still not as durable as traditional candy bar format. Smartphones I would still use a case with the Galaxy Z flip. Now, that's not pretty to look at or touch especially when the entire thing is glass. Motorola, razor, just don't buy this thing at all, so you don't even need a case because you won't own it. This thing is crap honestly, so that was an interesting but very expensive test.

I'm glad I still have a somewhat survived Galaxy Z flip to join a collection just from general use. My impressions from setting them up the Galaxy Z flip is the way more advanced one. It's got the better processors, snapdragon 855, plus it's running the better version of Android 10, just all around a better effort, better cameras, but the display on the Motorola Razr on the exterior I do prefer this one. Just I would like to see a bigger one here on next-gen, but still did fairly well as a throwback to the original Motorola Razr I think it did pretty damn good next gen. If they do choose to make one which I don't think they will be, they should think about adding this glass screen, but overall guys there.

It is the Galaxy Z flip I'd say is the winner. Here we do have a display that is usable after two head height drops straight down better design, better protection and I think that this will be fairly easy to replace and the phone lives another day to take another picture in this folded. State I also really like the fact that you can just leave it anywhere. You want I hate that this one either has to be opened or closed, so the hinge isn't as well-thought-out as the Z flip there. It is cool the phones of the future, pretty much ready, but you take care of them there little fragile, don't forget! We are doing to give away for three Samsung Galaxy S, 20, ultras down below five air pod pros and that alter-ego case do check those outs, I'm keeping you guys updated on our case release for the s20 I'm very excited about that one who put a lot of effort into the design, but alright guys thanks for watching peace.
