Welcome back everyone time to do another comparison between two phones that pretty much just came out: the Samsung Galaxy note 20 and the iPhone 12. Now. What I can tell you is both phones are very, very interesting and what's even more interesting than that is the price wise, both of them brand new. Of course, the note 20 is more expensive than the iPhone 12 by a little, but the iPhone 12 costs 829 the Samsung Galaxy note: 20 costs like a thousand dollars give or take now. The weird thing is the Galaxy Note: 20 has actually depreciated a little in the used market already, even though it just came out in August. So you can pick up those phones for around eight hundred dollars and I guarantee you in a couple of months, they're going to be less than 800, probably around 600, like we've seen before, but let's go ahead and see which one you should pick up now I'll find the cheapest ones of both I'll link them down in the description below you can get them from there and help support the channel.
At the same time, now, starting off with the front the Samsung Galaxy note, 20 has that 6.7 inch super AMOLED plus display, and it was a very good panel for the most part, and it's pretty much the same thing as the note 10. If I'm completely honest, but it's a very good panel, you have an inbuilt fingerprint sensor and when you look at the front of that panel, it definitely looks like a very good phone. For the most part. You have that whole plus display and very slim bezels across the whole entire board, and I think, even slimmer than the iPhone 12 and there's no notch on this phone either, and it definitely looks like a very, very good phone. At the end of the day, it doesn't look like an ugly phone, doesn't look like a bad phone.
It looks like a very, very good phone for sure. Now on the iPhone 12, you have a 6.1 inch super redneck, HDR OLED display. So it's a little smaller in every dimension, but funny enough. The resolution is higher and the pixels per inch are more on the iPhone 12 panel. Now you have true tone on that panel as well, but you do have a notch on it which some people may like some people might not.
In my opinion, I definitely do like how the note 20 looks, but it is a bigger phone overall. Some people may prefer that the iPhone 12 is a smaller phone overall. So, like I said, maybe one person likes one thing over the other. In my opinion, I, like the front of the Samsung Galaxy note 20 for sure. I feel like that phone has a better panel overall, but panels aren't everything to be completely honest.
You have USB type c on the bottom of the note 20 the iPhone 12. You have a lightning port and on the back, you have pretty much same. Furthermore, you know kind of setup, but you have very different textures to them. The iPhone 12 has a glass back on the back of it with the dual camera setup, the Samsung Galaxy note 20 has a plastic back on it, which doesn't make any sense to me. Samsung made this corny name like plastic or whatever.
You can definitely feel like it's completely made out of plastic. I never liked it. I still don't like it. It makes the phone feel extremely cheap. You do get a triple camera setup, though, which is actually a pretty good setup which I'll get to in a second, and you do have the s pen on the Samsung Galaxy note 20, which is really cool, and I think that kind of makes up for a little, but just the way the phone feels in the hand.
The iPhone 12 definitely feels like a more premium device, you're getting those newer flat sides on the iPhone 12 2, which look really nice and there's just not a lot to hate. On the iPhone 12. , the Samsung Galaxy note: 20 has a beautiful front, you know screen for the most part, and it looks really, really good, but I think when it comes down to the overall feeling and just look of the phone I might just have to give the edge to the iPhone 12. I feel like that phone feels more premium and what's interesting is the note 20 in the note lineup used to be the best of the best of what Samsung had at the time. That doesn't really seem like the case anymore, which is kind of sad.
So you don't have micro, SD cards on the note 20, you don't have it on the iPhones. No iPhone's ever had it so IP certification on both as well, which is very important, but the IP certification on the iPhone 12 is a little better at the end of the day. So in terms of the outside, that really pretty much covers it up now, software wise. Definitely when it comes down to the longevity, even though Samsung just you know, lengthen out their new software lifecycle of their Samsung Galaxy lineup, the iPhone 12 will still outlast the Samsung Galaxy note 20. The note 20 is still going to be around for a while.
The iPhone 12 is still going to be around for a while, but you're going to be noticing a couple of years from now, probably three years from now, the iPhone 12 is still going to be getting. Software updates, the Samsung Galaxy note 20 is not going to be getting updates at a certain point and that certain point is going to come sooner than the iPhone 12. So definitely when it comes down to the longevity of the software, the iPhone 12 is the winner. In terms of software updates, I think iPhone.12 again is the winner, their iOS. They seem to push out more updates, and it seems to be day one updates.
It's not like some updates get some updates here and there some devices are changing. It's every update on iOS just gets updates at the same time, which is really nice. So in terms of software, you know you can choose which one you like and kind of get a phone based off that, but I probably would choose the iPhone just because of iOS and just the amount of software updates you're going to get on it, which is really, really cool. So in terms of software that pretty much covers it up now hitting on the performance side of things, the Samsung Galaxy note 20 has that Qualcomm snapdragon 865 plus chipset an autocore CPU and arena 650 GPU, and only one model of that phone with eight gigabytes of ram with the iPhone 12 has the Apple A14 bionic chip x, core CPU and three different models of the phone with 4 gigabytes of ram each now. What I can definitely tell you is with the Samsung Galaxy note: 20, it was a pretty good performing phone.
I want to say pretty good. It's probably one of the best performing phones out right now. It can really do everything you throw at it completely 10 times over. Furthermore, it's an extremely fast phone. You know it has the latest chip set inside it rightfully, so it has the latest GPU.
It has a lot of ram for the most part, but not a crazy amount. The note 20 ultra can be fitted for having 12 gigs of ram, which is really nice. So definitely when it comes down to the Samsung Galaxy note 20, it is an extremely fast device, an extremely smooth device for an android device and even compared to a lot of other phones in the market. It's going to get you a better experience overall compared to a lot of other androids and even some iPhones, it's an extremely fast phone and there's not a lot to hate on now. The iPhone 12 is more or less the same.
It's still a very fast phone, and I just really don't think there's really that big of a difference between these two. I think these two are kind of the best in class of what they offer again. The note20 ultra and iPhone 12 Pro are probably even better, but these two are very similar and since their kind of similar in price they're only like 100 something dollars different. It's very interesting to see the differences between these two because they're so close to one another. Now, I'm going to assume that the iPhone may actually give you the smoother experience.
Overall, you know, since you don't have 120 hertz on either one of these I kind of edged to the iPhones when it comes down to the smoothness factor, but most the times for androids and iPhones that come out the same year, I usually edge to the androids for being faster overall. So in this case I would probably say the Samsung Galaxy note: 20 may actually be the faster performing device, but the iPhone 12 may be the smoother device overall. So again, that's kind of a little minor thing, but still something very, very important. Ram management is going to be very good on both these as well. I would assume they're about the same as well, so the smoothness will go for the iPhone 12, but the performance would probably end up going for the Samsung Galaxy note.20. now hitting on the cameras, the Samsung Galaxy note 20, like I stated, has a triple camera setup: a 12 megapixel wide 64, megapixel telephoto.
Then a 12 megapixel ultrawide sensor. The iPhone 12 has a 12 megapixel wide and a 12 megapixel, which white sensor now both can do 4k at 60 on the back camera, but the Samsung Galaxy note 20 does have the ability of shooting 8k videos, which is something that is really, really awesome. I love seeing that type of capability, and you don't really have that on iPhones. Unfortunately, I thought I was going to come this year. It ended up not coming, which is a very sad thing, but I think both cameras are very, very good now, because you are getting that telephoto lens and just an extra camera sensor on the Samsung Galaxy note 20.
That doesn't necessarily mean it's like the way better camera, but it does mean that it's a little of a better option. I think in a way you know more camera. Sensors are always better as long as they're like a telephoto ultrawide sensor. When it comes down to macro and death lands, it doesn't really matter, but I think the iPhone 12 has an perfect camera too, when it comes down to low light, different apps and all those different things too, especially the features. I think it's good enough for the most part, but I think the feature standpoint, the Samsung Galaxy note: 20 100 wins there.
So when it comes down to that the Samsung Galaxy note 20, I think, probably has a better freight. You know back camera, even the front camera 4k at 60 on both they're. About the same, so I think the note 20 may one in the camera department now ending it off with the battery life. You have a 4 million power battery on the Samsung Galaxy note 20, where the iPhone 12 has a 2 815 William hour battery. Now both them have wireless charging, which is great but the Samsung Galaxy note 20 doesn't have a reverse while it's charging, which is something that is really, really cool.
I love seeing that type of capability. It was rumored that the new iPhones were going to bring it. They ended up not bringing it, which is very sad, but I would even say the battery life on the Samsung Galaxy note.20 would probably end up being better than the battery life on the iPhone 12. That's not to say that the iPhone 12's battery life is the worst or anything, but as I compared it before to a lot of other android phones that have smaller batteries and just less battery performance than the note 20, I was seeing that the iPhone 12 just wasn't able to kind of keep up, which is unfortunate. So definitely when it comes down to these.
The note 20 has the better battery and the better battery features. So to kind of sum up this video and to answer the question: should you pick up the Samsung Galaxy note 20? Should you pick up the iPhone 12. ? What I can tell you is that I think for sure, when it comes down to both, I would rather pick up an iPhone 12 over a Samsung Galaxy note, 20 and there's a couple of reasons for it. But let me tell you some pros for the note 20. First, it's a very good phone.
I think there's just not a lot to hate on it. It feels pretty good in the hand the plastic on the back is the one thing that really runs me the wrong way, but the camera is great. The battery life is better. The camera is better. Like I stated you have that s pen on this phone too, which is another really awesome feature you have a beautiful front-facing screen on this phone too, which is another huge asset for this device.
I love the way. This thing looks fingerprint sensor in the screen and android is really nice on this thing you know one UI is not my cup of tea, but it still, you know, has a lot of features and I think, as a phone, it has overall more features than the iPhone 12, but the iPhone 12 is still such a good phone and probably the one. I would rather pick up it's cheaper in the brand-new market, which is something I kind of prefer. I like having a cheaper phone. If I can, you know, afford a cheaper phone.
The screen is perfect on it. Still you have a dual back facing camera, which is actually really nice. You have a great build quality. I'm talking. This is one of the best built phones right now, this in the 12 pro they feel extremely premium in the hands.
You have a notch which I don't really like, but the screen is pretty good face. I'd iOS support for a very long time. Performance is still smooth. IP certification is better on that phone. You still have 4k 60 on the front and back cameras, and maybe the back camera is just slightly better on the iPhone 12.
Maybe- and you have a lot of capability, you have the MagSafe capability behind this phone too. Like I said before, I think the Galaxy Note 20 has the more features when it comes down to it, but the iPhone 12 may actually be the better phone specifically for me, but that really pretty much covers up the comparison for the most part.
