Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Screen Plastic Glass Teardown Hinge Review. Glass Confirmed! By PBKreviews

So, a lot of you were asking me about the hinge, and you wanted a more in-depth look at the mechanism. Also, there's a lot of talk about the screen, whether it's plastic or glass, we'll take a look at that as well. First I'm going to start off with the screen. I'm going to leave it powered on, and I'm going to try to peel the screen off the backplate and then try to see if there's any plastic or anything else covering it all right. So here we have the screen powered on still functioning now, there's a thin metal frame on the back of the screen over here, I'm I try to pry that off first, you so screen, basically just peels off. So if I don't really feel any type of glass, one will double-check that later on now, you can see if you take a closer look, there's some glass underneath the desk cracking or shattering underneath it.

So there is a plastic layer, I think covering it see. If I could peel that off or not okay, the plastic. That's going to just kill the display underneath it, so there's a very thin type of glass underneath the plastic layer, as you guys can see right there shining underneath the light all the shattered pieces. You can fill it a little. It's pretty smooth I, don't know if you guys can hear that.

So it seems like it's a type of glass and mixture of plastic or something else that makes it flexible. So screen is definitely flexible with the glass. But if you flex it down much you're going to get this shattered. Look underneath it especially too much you get some dead pixels and some lines running through the screen still functions. So removing this cover right here.

There's a type of soft film located right underneath I, don't know if that's supposed to be some type of filter or not, but there's some on this one as well they're getting this handout. Isn't the easiest thing so getting this cable out of this hinge, it's incredibly difficult, so I'm, just not gonna waste any more time. I! Try taking out this way doesn't come out after I fold. The Flex over here same with this, so I'm going to leave it in there and show you guys a closer look at the hinge. Here's a closer look at the hinge, as you can see, there's some yellow tape on the inside, going all the way underneath to the other side, that's basically going over the metal part protecting it from touching the flex, cable or shorting it in any way closes this I, don't really see any other type of filter or anything else, preventing any dust or anything getting inside so from this over here are some close-up pictures of the hinge you so here you go guys basically bottom line.

It does have some type of glass underneath the plastic layer, and it can't shatter as well. However, it is very flexible, even though it's not a thick solid piece of glass. It is a type of glass mixture out, say so. I hope this video shed some light on some of your questions.
