Galaxy Note 9 Long Term Review: The Best Forgotten Smartphone!

So we're right around 7 months here since the release date of the Galaxy Note, 9, and perhaps it has been forgotten in the YouTube space amongst the galaxy s, tens, well-deserved, loves and praise galaxy, a 80s rotating camera mechanism, madness, galaxy fault, drama and, of course, the note 10 rulers. But aside from all the noise Samsung has been creating in the smartphone market here in 2019 is Samsung's Note 9 still worth talking about approaching the middle of 2019 I, certainly think so. The biggest thing that drew me to the note 9 was it's incredible.6.4 inch AMOLED display I used to look over to my co-workers desk and see a bright poppy display that was miles ahead of my iPhone 8 plus at the time the rounded and minimally bezels screen added to its amazing appearance and the vibrant colors of the display are still breathtaking, especially right after looking at the LED display of my iPhone 10 are the screen is very large and that size has definitely put into perspective for me when lining it up with the Nintendo Switch, you suddenly realize that the screen size is actually larger than the Nintendo Switch. The form factor of the phone itself is very well-built. I really enjoy the fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone, but sadly this will probably be left out on. The note in the phone looks great, although I prefer the new colors of the s10 phones.

More than this note, 9 I honestly never use the phone without a case anyway, as I enjoyed this phone having a bit more size and weight. As weird as that sounds, this is a powerful beefy. Spent phone and I want the feel of the phone to follow suit with that and if you like cases, you're in luck, because Samsung does a great job with their cases. My first case here actually isn't a Samsung, but simply a no-name brand charging case. I was surprised at how slim the case felt in the hand, and it still allows for full functionality with the note 9, including easy s-pen access.

Now back to the Samsung cases. The rugged Samsung case has been my favorite. By far it has saved me on a couple of drops and the kickstand is implemented perfectly. The Samsung led folio case provides a great look, but that is as far as I will talk about it. My case doesn't seem to be working anymore.

That's what I get for buying on eBay. Now, instead of talking about more specs on a seven-month-old device, I want to simply go through a bunch of things, I loved about the note, 9 and reasons why I have stuck with this device. The Samsung 1 UI update, has been a great experience overall in the note, 9, and I am sure that part doesn't change much, whether it's being used on the note or the s-line I turned on dark mode as soon as I updated and haven't gone back since it is so satisfying to read and send text messages in dark mode, opposed to the bright white screens, I've been looking at forever between iPhones and Android.8.0 I've really enjoyed using good, lock to further personalize and improve my experience with the device, especially with the use of accessing apps straight from the lock screen. The Bixby button being read. Maps certainly made this phone better as all the buttons on the sides of the phone are now useful.

There have been rumors, though, of a buttonless Note 10. So if you like buttons, then the note 9 might be you're go-to. The overall amount of functionality of the note and I never ceases to amaze me anything that comes to your mind can probably be done by this phone. No limits the longer you play around the settings and features the more. You appreciate the device like a double press on the sleep/wake button for opening their camera or removing the navigation bar at the bottom of the phone and using swipe gestures instead to save some screen real estate, I could go on and on, but this video would turn into a Samsung 1 UI video.

Instead of a note, 9 review so back to the note 9 itself and what makes it stand out, the s-pen the s-pen has been huge for me again. You could learn something new every day that the s-pen is capable of doing, but there are a few things that I have stuck to which I enjoy using everyday aside from the obvious note-taking and writing. Smart select is the most used function for me, I love being able to crop part of the screen and send it off to someone in a text. I also use the highlighting feature, a lot which can be used by simply pressing the home button on the pen and dragging across text on your screen. This is so much better than trying to hold down part of the screen with your finger then dragging the ends of the highlighted area using your fingers.

It's honestly a pain, and that gets me to my next point about the S Pen, which is that I love its functionality as a mouse replacement when the S Pen is close to the screen, a small circle or pointer for a lack of better terms will appear which allows for very precise taps or clicks. And for me, it's very useful. In gaming, you may be playing a game which requires the most precise of taps or clicks which a finger will not always perform as precisely. Overall the S Pen is honestly the reason you purchased the note 9 the functionality of the note 9 continues with its Bluetooth and type C capabilities. Obviously, you can seamlessly connect the Galaxy Buds to the phone, but you can also easily link up a Bluetooth mouse to your phone and just for the sake of demonstration, I plugged in my mechanical keyboard, to the note, using a USB-C converter, just to show again that you can do literally whatever you want with this phone, and that is why I have stuck with the note 9 and continue to love to use it every day.

Now the phone checks all the boxes for flagship features. Of course the speakers are good. The battery life is never concerned, considering its size and the phone's quick charging capabilities. The camera is great. The combination of a good camera and beautiful display makes your photos and videos look all the better when showing them to family and friends.

I'm, probably missing some other very notable features at this point. But all things considered, this phone is still holding up the same way. It did fresh out of the box. It's interesting to see these amazing products come out and in six months time they are rarely talked about and seemingly forgotten on. YouTube Samsung has had so much going on since last August and, as a result, it makes the note 9 the best forgotten phone in recent history.
