Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Unboxing and First Impressions: We Need to Talk By TechOdyssey

All right, so what I have here today is the Samsung Galaxy Tab s 6 alight, so Samsung has decided that they want to try and compete in the lower tier offerings of the tablet. World they've got the tab s6, and now they have the lite version and what kind of sets us, apart from some competition other than the fact that most of the other Android tablets are terrible, is the fact that one they bring a little more experience and prestige behind the name, but 2 it has the S Pen, just like the Tab s.6 does so kind of cool they're. Looking forward to taking a look at this, so we're going to go ahead and do the unboxing and first impressions and have a look at it. It's 350 bucks, and it just came out, so before I get into that I do want to say if this is your first time stopping by the channel. I appreciate you being here. If you want updates, when new videos come out now, let's see if we got all right so here we are with the Samsung Galaxy Tab s6 light. So this just came out not a couple of days ago. I got it on launch day and I set up for this gray, one because I really wanted the blue one. The new Angora blue because. It looked really cool, but it was like not gonna, be in stock for like ten days, so I settled on the slight one, which is fine.

They also have a chiffon pink. If that you know tickles your fancy now, let me go and use my handy dandy, unboxing tool, so I can take this out of the box and have a look at it and get it set up now. I did have the original s6 I. Actually I did like it. I felt like maybe a little bit overpriced and I didn't use it as much as it was intended to, so I ended up selling it a while back, and I thought.

You know what let me go ahead and try the light version. It might be something a little better for me, because I only use tablets mostly for media consumption, some games and I like to use the tablet instead of a TV when I go to sleep at night, to like watch videos and stuff, so that this might be a decent option. Now all the tablets that Samsung makes comes with this little sleeve that protects it. While it's in the box, I think they're pretty cool, and then you can see here it looks pretty nice. It looks very much like the tab.

S6, you have the Samsung logo on the back. There you've got the camera here too, eight megapixel camera on the back of five megapixels on the front. They are capable of shooting 1080p at 30 frames per second. If you want to be that person and try and shoot video with it, I wouldn't really recommend it. Now, on the top, you can see you've got the book ended antenna bands err along with the headphone jack, on the top, which is a nicety and then on the right hand, side.

You have the volume rockers on the bottom and the power button above that which is kind of backwards from the way Samsung does their phones on the bottom. You've got the USB connector, so you can charge it. It does have a seven thousand and forty William battery, which is actually a really good-sized battery I think, especially with the Enos 96 11 processors. That's in it, it does have a ten point. Four-inch screen with the 1200 by 2,000 resolution on it.

You can see here it does come with a really, really short USB cable, which is kind of surprising you'd. Think they'd put a larger cable for a big tablet, and then you've got the quick charger in there as well. So you can get this recharge quick fast and in a hurry. Now you can see there is a sim ejector tool on the back there, which you can use the expandable SD card slot in here for additional storage, and if you had the LTE model, you'd be able to put a sim card in as well. This is the Wi-Fi only model, and we also have the S Pen in here, which is the fully functional stylus.

Just like the Big Brother Tab s6, it's fully functional, it's color, matched with the tablet. So I think this is probably one of the biggest selling points that you get when it comes to this tablet or Samsung tablets in general. So if you look at like an introductory iPad, which I do have the lowest level model, they have now 32 gigabytes of storage they're like m3 54 MSRPs, but you can find them on stuff like 250, now a lot of places, it doesn't come with a pen, and you get half as much storage versus this one. You get 64 gigabytes of storage and the included S Pen for 350, which I think is actually a pretty good deal alright. So here I am with the tab.

S6 light. So, as you can see, I've got the gray, color 1 I, believe they call it like slate. They have a blue one as well. It's like this really cool. Looking light blue, that's what I wanted, but I guess that's kind of the most popular color for this tablet right now they this one I got the day it came out versus having to wait till June 10th.

They also have a chiffon pink. If that's your thing as well. So this is an it's not quite a budget tablet. It has a very good premium, build to it, and it feels very much like the tab s6. So this is the light version.

Of course, it has an X and O's processor, and it has 4 gigabytes of RAM, it's kind of a direct competitor for just the regular iPad, not so much the air, not so much the pro. But it's got a 12 about 1200 by 2,000 resolution on it. So it's only a little over 200 something pixels per inch. It has an 8 megapixel camera on the back, and it has a 5 megapixel on the front. So it's not too shabby whenever it comes down to the hardware and the design, and it comes with the s-pen.

So it's basically the same s-pen that you get with the s6, but it works with this. Now they change things up a little. So on the s6, there was a little slot like a groove on the back where the s-pen would go, which I thought was mostly terrible when I had mine back in the day. Well, now they've decided that it will go on the side. Well, you can see here it sets just below the volume rocker and the power button it kind of gets in the way, because when you're holding it, it just grabs, and it slips right off, but you can't put it on this side as well.

So that's fine, but it doesn't really leave you anywhere to hold it unless you hold the tablet like this, if you hold the tablet like this you're good to go, but then the buttons are on the bottom. So if you hold it like this, and you're going to hit it with your pinky, while you're trying to hold on to it, you can see it just got knocked off so I, don't know what kind of geniuses that they have working on. This over at Samsung, but they need to go back to school and reevaluate their engineering degree, because it just makes no sense. Now it does have dual speakers. You got a speaker here and then over here as well.

The sound is okay, it's kind of balanced, I guess but like if you're trying to watch shows and stuff you pretty much have to get the volume up to like 40 to 50% before you can really even hear what they're saying kind of a pain in the rear. End I used my iPad at night when I go to sleep as I like to listen and watch shows on there. So I thought that I would try this out, because I wasn't overly impressed with the sound on my iPad I'm, less impressed with the sound on here. So this one actually maybe a little better, but the directional audio and the way it works, not good for voices. So there's that, but it does have the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack on the bottom. There is an SD card slot on here, so there are two models you can get the 64 gig or the 128, and then there's an expandable SD card storage slot on the same side as the power button here.

So you can pop one of those in there. It would have LTE support I guess if I got the LTE model, it looks on the SIM card tray like there's a place where a SIM card could go, but it's filled with this plastic. That looks like a sim so yeah now the other thing I don't like about this- is the volume button and the power button are the opposite of Samsung phones, so I have my Samsung Galaxy, Note, 10, lakh or top, and the power button below that not so much over. Here you go over here, and you've got the volume rocker on the bottom of the power button on the top. So there's a curious mixed bag of decisions that went into this, but it does have a seven thousand William battery.

It has pretty darn good battery life, I've been using it for about three or four days now. Yes, I know this is an unboxing, but by time we get around to making an unboxing video I've actually been using this for a couple of days. So that's why it's also unboxing and first impressions, but so far I've been enjoying it. It does seem powerful enough. I mean it's not the fastest thing in the world, but it seems to handle pretty much whatever, whatever I've been able to throw at it.

Just fine. The other thing. That's really, really curious. There's no fingerprint sensor on here. There's no home button on here, there's really two forms of biometrics.

You can do a pin or the little swipe code thing, and then you have facial recognition, which is the garbage Samsung slow facial recognition. So it does seem to still work during like when it's dark, but overall I'm not happy with that at all either. So I really wish it had a fingerprint sensor somewhere, I, don't know if it would have been very much more expensive. To put it in here, I would have gladly paid an extra twenty or thirty dollars for it, because trying to interact with this to turn it on is you know, for a $350 tablet, it's a little on the annoying side, so yeah I've got kind of a few negatives with regard to this tablet, but overall it's probably the best Android tablet. You can get for 350 bucks today and, of course, it's running.

You know Samsung's 1ui and all that good stuff on here. So it has like a lot of good things going for it. It's just at the end of the day, there 's's been some curious decisions that they made so 1ui 2.1. Also, you know it's Android 10, so the latest security patch main first, so it's not too far behind in the security patches as well. So overall I mean I've, been enjoying it and there's another nice feature too.

If you have a Samsung phone, you can kind of connect them to where you can use it. Answer phone calls or text messages on your tablet based off your phone it'll work, and then it's like after a while. It just won't work, and then you have to reset both the devices and then hopefully it starts working again. So hopefully look at the kinks worked out of it because I do kind of like that and then of course the stylus is nice to use as well. I.

Don't want to forget about that. It is annoying with the placement, but it is I mean it's just like having a giant. You know Samsung Galaxy Note, so a lot of cool things. Definitely there leaning on the whole stylus thing to try and differentiate themselves from Apple and to stand apart from the others, Android tablets, but the way they've implemented. It is a little short-sighted, I think so.

Anyway, that's it on my unboxing and first impressions. I'll have my full review on this tablet later, which I've never actually reviewed a full sized tablet like this before, so it should ought be fun now anyway. So that's all I've got on the tab.
