Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra vs Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra: FULL CAMERA TEST

Two of the smartphones, with best performing cameras this year, galaxy s21, ultra versus me, 11 ultra, which of these setups, has the edge and can a Samsung sensor in a non-gaming phone turn out to be better than the s21 ultra. Let's inspect hey welcome to the channel. My name is Michael, and I enjoy this part so much putting different devices side by side and checking which one of them is better turns out to be something that you're also very curious about. My last camera fight review between the OnePlus 9 pro and me 11 ultra has shown that, despite the enormous software efforts that OnePlus has put into development of their new flagship, the much larger image sensor inside the m11 ultra just nails it and offers greater quality. Can you do it once again when compared to the s21 ultra speaking of comparison? In a nutshell, the Xiaomi flagship is here to take the crown this year being the more powerful ultra. It has a brighter display the better performance, especially here in Europe, where the galaxy s21 is Enos chipset-based, that's close to three times faster wired charging and has the fastest wireless charging technology in the industry.

The probably the nicest sounding dual speakers, the largest image sensor ever used in the flagship smartphone, and this quite unique secondary display on the back which can be used for selfies. While you can actually take these photos with the main camera sensors, just name, a characteristic of the s21 ultra and the mi 11 ultra, probably is going to beat it two major exceptions, though USB transfer speed with the Samsung phone is 3.0 generation based, while, surprisingly Xiaomi have opted for type-c port according to the USB 2.0 specifications and the second one spoiler alert here, the selfie camera. Putting all that aside, let us focus on the primary camera's performance.17 rounds, a lot of samples, some analysis, and I expect your comments about the photo quality in the section below the video. Now that it's totally fine, if you disagree with some of my statements and feel free to share with me, why you feel like that, while commenting we're going to have two photo and video sessions during daytime and nighttime for the best experience better watch this video indoors at a possibly larger display with maximum brightness, starting, of course, with the main sensor. This is where each smartphone maker's most efforts are going into.

In theory, mile revenuers has the edge, because the image sensor inside funny enough Samsung made is the latest that the company has released. However, it appeared after galaxy s21 ultra was already designed, which made Samsung use a bit older sensor, which we can find in the regular me 11 it's, namely the 108 megapixel hm3 sensor. It's a bit smaller and allows the advanced nine in one pixel binning, meaning that out of nine pixels, the AI processing generates one with the best possible quality me 11 ultra, on the other hand, comes with the already super famous gn2, a bit bigger with smaller pixel density and so far remarkable results so photos main sensor daylight. Both cameras are in the shape to produce incredibly good, looking photos. There's one clear winner in this case we're having two examples: the buildings side by side Samsung have their usually pumped super vibrant, colors, social media friendly, but quite a hassle for photo editors.

The red is really unusually standing out. Zooming in four times shows that the s21 taken photo actually falls apart. The junctions between the panels are barely notable, almost nothing distinguishable on the balcony and washed out borders for most objects. Here's another sample, because last time you asked for seeing a comparison with an object. So here is one a tricky one, though these photos look much more similar with the sky, color being more realistic on the mi 11 ultra again.

Overall, I still favor the mi level, ultra quality better, but obviously it missed the autofocus here. Black is very challenging color anyways and even though the s21 ultra nailed it with the focus from the first time in this round, the actual wiener is the Xiaomi phone switching to wide angle cameras. The hardware combos are quite promising and seem to be in favor of me 11. Ultra again, here's why the Samsung flagship has the mix 563 imagers a fairly old sensor and much smaller when compared to Xiaomi's choice of the half inches mix 586. At the first sight, photos are quite similar this time the color balance seems to be okay, for both phones, zooming in five times, doesn't really show much better quality for the m11 ultra, although it was supposed to be an easy win, especially given the sensor size.

However, there are more details preserved on the left side, with better visible texture on the white door, so more details and 20 wider. The mi 11 ultra rules in the first two rounds. Next is the telephoto setup. Here me, 11 ultra uses the same great half inch sensor paired with different optics for s21 ultra. There are two a more triple zoom lenses and a 10 time.

Zoom lens the Xiaomi device is somewhere in the middle with its five time zoom. So let me adjust the triple zoom to the same scale as the photo on the left. Even without zooming in the photo on the right loses quality, and we can easily notice the degradation we can. Barely see the tiles junctions and there's a lot of grain in the gray areas already, so let's try with the 10 times zoom on the s21 ultra, and I'm going to zoom in the mid-device accordingly and holy cow, they still look almost identical, let's zoom another hundred percent. Do you notice any difference, because there barely is? Perhaps the s21 ultra has a bit better color on the flower, but the better dynamic range on the mi level.

Ultra lets us notice some more details in the dark areas. Obviously, the mi 11 ultra telephoto lenses zoomed in twice is at least as good as the 10 time boomer on the s21 ultra. As for the three time zoom lens on the Samsung, the phone was about to be better off without it going for the next mode macrophotography. Finally, around for the Samsung device. It can get much closer to the object physically.

However, the too sharp and artificial image is not truly convincing. Still a lot more detail in colors, so macro is at least a bit better with the Samsung. Generally, we've already identified this weakness when comparing me level ultra to the OnePlus 9 pro another area where the Xiaomi device had to catch up last time is the portrait mode this time with the new version of the mini software. It's wow. These spotters are incredible, however, zoomed in twice.

We noticed that the forehead area is starting to fall apart on the Samsung side and also an issue with the rear side of the helmet remarkable come back from Xiaomi and what I predicted last time that software wise it's gonna, get huge gains and that's already a fact, four versus one. That's the result after testing the stills now some video, my name is tensor and, as expected, easy win for Xiaomi notice, the sign in the background, the card plates and the overall stabilization and dynamic range so much better with the Xiaomi, the ultrawide sensors make this difference even greater a lot better stabilization, nicer, colors, again, better dynamic range. The me11 ultra is in its own league pleasure to watch this. Let's check about the telephoto cameras, because, with the s21 ultra, I managed to capture some really awesome close-ups without risking scaring these birds, for instance, side by side. It makes no sense to torture the triple zoom lens so now, you're watching the 10 time, zoom lens on the Samsung device and zoomed in video of the me11 ultra, so that they have the same scale.

Okay, maybe we can agree to give this round to the s21. Ultra stabilization seems to be equally good, but there's a bit greater detail level on the Samsung device. Don't forget that here, Xiaomi footage is zoomed in twice so with two telephoto lenses. The galaxy finally manages to win, but me 11 ultra can record in 8k with this camera I won't be mean- and here I'm going to keep the point to s21 ultra, but just saying that Xiaomi have some more tricks up their sleeves. Just one more camera left to test in daylight, the one on the front for selfies, and I think it's hard to have two different opinions about it.

S21 ultra is not just better. It's a lot better dynamic range, colors sharpness. It has the nicer selfie camera testing, the selfie cameras, and I've got on the left, me 11 ultra, and this is the audio quality of the b11 ultra and right now talking to the s21. You know the galaxy s21 ultra, which is the battle room play around with the sunshine so that you can figure out how the phones are handling the auto exposure, and, let me know in the comments below which one you like better the s21 ultra or the 11, ultra, switching to different light environments and time for the real deal, the low light performance. This is where weaknesses become even more obvious, but surprisingly, s21 ultra keeps it together in these lighter areas, and I can even say that there are just a bit more details preserved the darker areas.

However, huge loads of grain in the sky and pretty much nothing visible from the houses, the darker it gets, the stronger me 11, ultra's camera results are going to be for the ultrawide cameras, there's a little more detail on the mi 11 ultra. However, not enough to help you to win this round. One more thing. I noticed something tend to make such night lamps with a star effect around them. It really helps the photo to look better, and I noticed this behavior when night mode is on.

So here we have a tie. The telephoto lenses had almost identical performance in daylight capture photos, but now at night, the much better sensor on the mi-11 ultra takes the lead, more details, less grain, a lot brighter and that's yet another point for the Chinese flagship portrait modes. We know this huge improvement in daylight for mile 11 ultra in low light. However, Samsung clearly wins just a hint look at the raindrops on Alex jacket, apparently notable on the left and the red color has gone crazy as well so point for the Samsung things in motion now and that's a surprise because yeah, the mi 11 ultra sensors gives a bit better result showing the remote buildings, but footage on the Samsung device looks a bit steadier and wow. That's a second point for s21 ultra in a row with the ultra-wide camera.

However, it doesn't have any chance. The denoting algorithms on the Samsung device make the grass look like a flat green sheet kind of weird. I would prefer grain to smooth paint so clearly, me 11 ultra is the winner in this one. The telephoto lenses are next, and they're pretty awkward to be stabilized at night. That's why? The footage that you see is too shaky.

I did my best to keep the phone steady, but even the lightest movements will result into great distortions. Still, I think s21 ultra has the edge here. Image processing seems to be a bit better, but honestly, I can't think of many reasons to use the telephoto video shooting at night, so I think you've seen enough and at the end it's really important to mention a few more things. This was a side-by-side comparison in random. Filming scenarios could be that, depending on the light, there might be slight deviations, but I do believe that all the rounds were fairly measured and analyzed.

Also, me, 11 ultra. Has this wonderful extra display on the back, which allows you to take selfies with the main camera modules and the ultra-wide angle? Photos and videos are quite amazing- also. The Xiaomi device can record in 8k with each one of the rear cameras, giving it the edge over s21 ultra, and in my opinion, the results speak for themselves feels like Samsung kind of shot themselves in the foot, because major part of the mi 11 ultra performance is thanks to the amazing gn2 sensor, which is Samsung. Mate just happens to be released after s21 ultra appeared on the market, so Xiaomi right now has a unique momentum, utilizing the best of the best, and this comparison just confirms and strengthens the mi 11 ultras position as having the best camera setup of 2021. So far, in fact, I feel, like even OnePlus.9 pro was a bit closer to this performance, as opposed to the galaxy phone, and I feel that Samsung fans have now good reasons to demand from their favorite brand a lot more from the next models in generations. Of course, despite our deep analysis in most scenarios, especially when it comes to social media, these differences may be neglectable.

I've always been telling you, my dear friends, that the most important thing is to find a way to enjoy your own gear.
