Geek Beat - Google Pixel 3a/ 3aXL / Google Lens, Oura Ring, and Apple TV app By Hawaii News Now

The geeks are back in the studio front lobby in kick Tacoma, and today we're talking about a couple of gadgets that are pretty cool. Well, so Google had their Developer Conference, and they usually announced some hardware and the hardware that they announced was the Pixel 3a and 3a X, which actually is a comma, specifically targeted and lower priced phone okay, but it has all the features of the pixel 3. It has a know, a plastic frame. It comes in black white and purplish, it has the headphone jack on it, and it has camera a camera that is just as good as the pixel 3 and even better than the iPhone everybody saying the advantages, the camera, and it basically retails at 399. So it's much less than the pixel 3, so it's really targeted for people who want to get a phone and has all the features and I think it's um, probably addressing a market. That's not being addressed right now, because all the phones are getting more in price.

You, oh my gosh, I, now and then, and then right after that, they also announced something called Google Lens. Google Lens has already been around, so you know you. You can point the camera to something, and they'll give you more information, but what they've done is they've enhanced it by providing like, say, you're doing a menu? It'll actually show you some dishes, and then it'll also bring up a calculator. So you can determine what the price distribution is amongst the party that your smartphone's getting smarter, yep and even incorporate a are into that as well. Okay, Ian, what else you got? You got some kind of fancy.

I got a fancy jury, so sleep is really important. We all know that right. We need to get like eight to ten hours of sleep. You know we get older like my age yeah, but the problem is when you get to bed a lot of times. Actually the amount of sleepy we actually get is much less.

That's telling me how I'm sleeping, so I can adjust my lifestyle to stay healthy, or really I learned the sunrise, people that we're not getting okay, so I just wanted to include something from Apple. Okay, Apple just announced their Apple TV app. So you know you have an Apple TV, but there's an Apple TV app, which is really their entry into the streaming arena and on the app you can subscribe to. You know HBO Showtime, and they were the first ones, and now they're coming out there.

God, they have to upgrade. You know they yeah, they got a keeper and then really you know, they're positioning so that people can now get some premier Apple streaming content that they're in the process of developing. So that's kind of the Apple TV app and I didn't even know that I had it on my phone because it came with the latest iOS yeah I always update.
