Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra Battery Drain Test - 120Hz VS 96Hz

Hi, it's John from and old Alex, and we're going to do. Another factory drain test for the Galaxy has 20 ultra now I'm, including the clip from my previous drain test. But this time we've got the addition of the new-found, 96 Hertz screen refresh rate now, I'm only going to do this in 1080p, mainly because I can't and bother to do it 720p as well and also I, can't the least squeeze another phone onto the screen without making them quite small. So anyway, on with the test and let's see how it gets on okay, there we have it between 96 and a hundred 20 Hertz at 1080p, there's only a 6% difference, so switching it from 120 to 96 Hertz in this case gave us an additional 33 minutes of battery life. If you want to set your s, 22 96 Hertz, then click on the link in the top right of the screen I've put the other percentages on the screen as well this time. So you can easily see the difference between the resolutions and refresh rates so as before, we've got the 70% difference between 7 2016, 1 20, and we've got a 50% difference between 1080, 60 and 120.

So, yes, although it will save some battery life, it's not going to say if you know huge amounts by a little again. This is just a video looping, so it's not how some would actually use their phone, but it does give you a general idea as to how much it could potentially save. So you may have noticed at the end of the new test for the 96 Hertz, the screen seemed to lock itself just before it died. Now that is obviously a new feature. I'll put a feature in inverted commas: there, since the previous update, because before the March update that was applied with the camera fixes the screen wouldn't lock, it would just continue to play the video, so potentially it would have lasted a tiny bit less.

Maybe a couple of minutes less, but for this test we're not going to worry about that too much. So, yes, there is a saving, and it's not a huge one, but it is a saving nonetheless, so hope you found this video useful.
