Samsung Galaxy A8 2018: unboxing and first look

Hey, what's up guys Vic Christophe, here with following that, and today we have the Samsung Galaxy a8 and let's unbox this baby, and here we go. Let's take the cover off and right here you have the Samsung Galaxy a8, with an infinity display that looks gorgeous and features. A very familiar design looks a lot like the s8, but has a fingerprint scanner right on the back and a very comfortable position. Let's peel this off, let's take the front cover as well, so this is the galaxy ay-ay-ay full fire it up in a second now, let's take a look at what's inside the box, we have this robust here and have a sim ejector tool. Let's open this up, have a sim ejector tool using manuals, and that's about it put this aside and the box. You have headphones, 3.5, millimeter, headset jack present on this phone. Thankfully you have a fast charger in the box as well: a white fat adaptive fast charger by Samsung, and here you also have a USB, C 2 USB, a cable.

This pole uses USB-C, which is the norm in 2018, and we're happy that it does so. Let's fire this up and see how it works. I have two long hold the power key on the side, and you can see that this is the gold version of the phone. You have also a black and blue versions and different colors. You see the dual sign, which also means that you have two SIM cards that you can use for.

More flexibility and the fingerprint scanner is nicely positioned right below the camera very convenient position. Ok, now, let's set up the fingerprint scanner. Okay and now we've set up the galaxy a8 2018. Here's what it looks like the first thing you notice about this phone is that it has a flat display. There are no curves like on the galaxy s 8.

So if you don't like this curve display, the galaxy a8 is a worthy option. Now I'll swipe to the left, and you will see that you have the Bigamy menu that we have not yet set up. You do not have the Bigamy button here, but the menu is here, and you have the familiar Samsung experienced interference with the swipe up, app drawer and all the familiar apps and squirrel style of icons and everything else. You also have split screen view and let's also take a look at the Android version that this phone ships with, but let's go to a bout phone and go into the software information, and here you can see that it still runs Android 7.1.1 nougat and not the latest Oreo, which is a bit of a disappointment. But that's what you get with a such an upper mid-range phone.

In fact, in many markets, this phone costs about the same as the galaxy s 8. You can see that it also has the infinity display, with an 18 point 5 by 9 aspect ratio. This is a taller screen and let's take a quick look at the phone itself, the back is made out of glass fuse very premium. Buttons are very click very nice to press on the bottom. You have a USB-C port and a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, because the fingerprint scanner positioned nicely below the camera with an easy reach and that's about it. The one noticeable thing is the loudspeaker here is on the side, a weird position, but it worked well on last year's Galaxy a series, and we have no doubt that this will sound good, we'll give it a further testing in our full review.

So for the time being, this is a quick look at the Galaxy, a 20-18 stay tuned for our full review, and thanks for watching.
