Yep as if battery life on the new iPhone 11 Pro wasn't good enough already. Apple went ahead and rolled out its official battery case for their new lineup of phones for 2019 included models that support the new case are the iPhone 11, the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. But this time around, they also added a neat useful little button towards the bottom that we'll discuss more in detail later on in the video. This battery case does retail for an eye-watering 129 dollars across all models, so we'll go into detail and try to unravel and justify the steep price tag, but before that stay tuned until the end of this video, so you can learn how you can win one of these for yourself to lucky. Subscribers we'll have an opportunity to snag one of these, so do not miss that opportunity. It's just in time for the holidays and I wanted to reward my loyal subscribers with a quick little giveaway.
So, if you're new to the channel go ahead and subscribe right now and destroy the like button and remember to watch until the end to learn how you can win one of these awesome new cases, all right, you ready, let's dive straight into the unboxing, so these unboxing are pretty straightforward, use the energy from all the Thanksgiving and Christmas food. Your grandma for down your throat to pull apart the box from the top here using the little handle and I mean I. Guess that's it your new case! Is there waiting to protect and charge up your shiny new iPhone? You do get minimal instructions, as the case is pretty straightforward, but generally the best way to put the case on is to peel back the top portion of the case and slide the phone down until the lightning connector makes contact with your phone and your battery case may or may not have some juice straight out of the box. If not, you can leave the phone in and charge the case simultaneously or, if you want to charge just a case, simply remove the phone and charge up, you can use your standard, lightning, connector or lay it down on any QI enabled wireless charger, as this case can be wirelessly charged with or without the phone inside. You can pick up the case in your choice of three different colors for the iPhone 11 Pro line.
But, interestingly, you can find it in only two colors for the iPhone 11. What is up with Apple's discrimination against the iPhone 11 Apple? What did I phone 11 users ever do to you anyway? You can choose between black white or pink sand for the pro lineup and only black and white for the 11. It's not that big of a deal honestly I suspect about. Maybe 3/4 of people will opt for the black or white, while the tiny sliver of customers, probably mostly females, will pick up the pinks, and you know to stay stunting and match with your fingernails and designer purse. I've, always liked the feel of these cases, as it adds a much-needed grip.
Enos to the case similar to Apple silicone cases, except with more grip, since you have that battery bump near the bottom of the case that allows your palm to more easily grasp the phone one-handed. There is a downside to the texture, though sometimes when putting it in a pocket. It'll collect a massive amount of tiny lint and dirt and is sometimes annoying to clean off minor, annoyance, sure but important to note. Imagine these cases in a leather or leather like finish now, that would be pretty dope if you already own an iPhone, 11, Pro or especially the pro max you'll, know that this year's iPhones are a lot chunkier and a lot heavier than the previous generation. For example, the 11pro Max comes in at right under half a pound or seven point 97 ounces and is 8.1 millimeters thick, so adding on this bulky case makes your phone look like Wales on steroids, pretty heavy for a smartphone. I'm not gonna lie, but the battery trade-off is well worth it.
It's not too overbearing, but it is important to note the extra thickness and weight does to an already pretty heavy phone. You have your color contrasting Apple logo towards the middle, your cutout for the triple camera array, or a very similar cutout for the dual camera array of the iPhone 11 on the bottom. We have our Lightning port in order to recharge the case, and it is important to mention that, while charging the case with the iPhone inside, the charging will prioritize the phone and not the case after a while it'll begin to transfer some power over the case, but the phone is still the main priority while charging. So just keep that in mind do also keep in mind that there is now off switch for the charging it'll just automatically begin to charge the phone, whether you like it or not. Until the battery of the case has been depleted on the Left, you have your buttons for your volume up and down, and they feel very tactile and responsive no obstruction there.
Of course, you do also have your cutout for your mute switch and on the right. You have your sleep, wake button, and you'll see towards the bottom. On the right side. We see something new. This new feature is a camera button, so this is pretty nifty.
It's perfect for those scenarios where you have a picture-perfect moment and need to open your camera on the fly, simply press the new camera button, whether the iPhone is locked or unlocked in your camera, app pops up within a second, a quick press of the button wall in the camera. App takes a photograph and a long press captures video turn the camera around to selfie mode, and it works the same exact way. I think it's a wonderful addition to the cases having the option to very quickly open up. The camera can make for great pictures that have to be taken quickly. Instead of unlocking your phone finding your camera app and wait for it to open up yes, I know you can force touch on the camera widget within the home screen, but I find that sometimes it doesn't register like back on the 3d touch, enabled phones, it was way more responsive, and it seems now you have to hold the camera button for like half a second before it comes up, and sometimes you kind of over press the camera button.
If you have a fat thumb like me, so this is a great addition revolutionary, absolutely not usable. Yes. The case does also feature the exact same microfiber material found on their leather cases, they're leather folio and the silicone cases. The microfiber material helps it for an easy insert, and so that way, the back glass of your iPhone doesn't get scratched by debris or dirt. The form factor of the case is perfect, as it should, since it's a first party case, you shouldn't, feel any impediment of the case itself, as all your touch gestures are easily accessible, there's no protruding lip or anything of the sort.
I did also forget to mention that at the very bottom near the lightning connector, you do have your two grills for your microphone and your speaker and in no way shape or form. Does this ever move out any of the noise? As a matter of fact, I feel the speakers are actually even louder since the case makes them so that it has kind of an echo effect, while microphone quality remains the same. So, while organ Amelie, it feels great and aw and the new camera button is pretty useful. Inevitably people will buy a battery case to prolong their battery life. Who would have guessed Apple touts that the case will add an extra 50% of juice to your new iPhone, which is an exorbitant amount of battery? Put it this way on paper, the iPhone 11 Pro is supposed to give you up to 20 hours of video playback or about 80 hours of audio playback, and according to my battery drain test, which, if you haven't seen, you should totally check out the card at the top right, where I compared the entire 2019 iPhone lineups battery life, the 11pro line give or take squeezed out about 13 hours on the 11pro and 14 hours.
For the pro max. Given this information with the advertiser extra 50% increase to battery, it is safe to assume that, according to Apple, you'd get 30 hours of video playback and a staggering 120 hours of audio playback, but who measures battery life in audio playback. It's just weird, but realistically you'll be using a combination of social media, audio playback, some streaming on Apple TV, plus psych, no one's on Apple, TV plus Disney Plus, is where it's all at so. In any case, the battery life will differ from person to person it's hard to give an accurate figure when everyone's needs totally differ. I, for one, would consider myself an extremely heavy user, mainly due to Clash Royale being like a leech on my battery life, but I also am a heavy Instagram and Twitter user and all-around rely on my phone throughout the day, but even then, on an extremely heavy day for me, which is from 6 a.
m. to bedtime around midnight I'll still be at around 25% no exaggeration. These batteries on these phones are Try, so now I'm wondering who would need all this battery. The actual physical capacity of the batteries hasn't been revealed, yet I'm waiting for some tear downs to see just how big each battery is, but as soon as I know, I'll print a comment to let you all know, but yeah like who needs all this battery seriously. Realistically, thanks to the tremendous battery life already found inside I, don't think these cases will be as popular as before the only real time.
I feel these would be useful is if you're going on some kind of camping trip or basically an outdoor excursion where you'll be away from the technological world. We're accustomed to you, know away from wall, plugs chargers and Wi-Fi, or maybe a good reason to get one is if you're going on a long international flight like from Los Angeles to Sydney or Atlanta to London other than that at 129 dollars. Why bother? In fact, why pay so much when the market is flooded, with a ton of portable charging banks that you can easily stow away in a bag or even your pocket? I recently bought one at my local Best Buy and the power bank is super light and portable and has a capacity of 12,000 William hours for just $35 a fraction of what Apple charges just for reference, a 12,000 William hour mobile battery bank can probably recharge in an eleven Pro max from zero to full, approximately about three times give or take. So unless you just absolutely need your phone to be continuously charging with this case, or you just like the idea of having a first party Apple battery case, then sure go ahead, but I think for me and the average person the battery on the phone surpasses my expectations and is more than enough for me. If you're really glued to your phone that much, then it might be time to go out and make some friends man, but anyways guys.
That's been my review of the new battery case for the iPhone 11 line. Overall. The addition of the camera button is a really great feature, but at this point the case serves little purpose, since the phone itself is already a beast in the battery department, maybe you're just those people who are OCD about their battery and don't like for it to fall under 70 H percent. Trust me I know a couple of people like that, but you also have to think for a hundred and twenty-nine dollars. What else can you get given that several battery banks are available just about anywhere for a fraction of the price? Do you really need it? Maybe not, or maybe just maybe getting one of these is absolutely free- is the way to go as a small gift to all.
