ROG Phone 5 - PS2, Wii, PSP, 3DS… 12 Emulators Tested - Ultimate Gaming!

Smartphones have been getting more and more powerful these days and gaming. Smartphones are a thing and one of the brands whoare been doing it. The longest has been ASUS with their ROG series, and now they recently launched the ROG phone 5. I'm sure you've seen a lot of videos, a lot of performance tests on how the spoon runs in regard to games android games, that is today, I want to think a little out of the box do a little different kind of video where we are going to be looking at emulation. Generally, emulation takes a lot of horsepower, and today we're going to be seeing how the ROG phone 5 does in regard to a lot of emulators right from simple systems like meme, all the way up to PlayStation 2, the Nintendo Wii, and all that. So let's see how this performs and guys beat it up.

I am working with ASUS on this, so that's a disclaimer at the footage that I shot, and I'm adding this commentary uh. So I kind of feel, like you know, the new. Yes, it's a very simple system to emulate, but it's still one of the best experiences right, retro gaming uh. It is where uh, where it's at and hey that's contra. Let's now jump into genesis, again contra, but then this time for genesis, as you guys can see so far.

We didn't expect it to have any issues, and it doesn't have any issues the ROG 405. It doesn't break a sweat. It's smooth. I'm going to be cranking up the difficulty levels so to speak in regard to what emulators we are using and let's see how it responds. So, as of now genesis awesome, so this is a little more complicated.

This one is the Nintendo DS. So, as you can see, the DS has two uh two screens so uh, I'm kinda, I'm kinda using it in a weird way. I've got it on the game, sir x2 controller, but I'm plugging it into the USB type-c port to the side so that I can still get a vertical orientation uh. I mean it's kind of generating it, but I really like the experience here. You could, of course, jump in and use the on-screen controls.

It's still you know two screens and all that, so you can do that without any issues, so Mario Kart, let's now move on from that to a more complicated console again with dual screens the Nintendo 3ds. Now the 3ds is one of my favorite consoles ever I have used. I actually have a couple of 3ds. Okay, I have one 3ds left. I have a 3ds XL back home uh, and I've spent a lot of time playing this game right here as well as Pok?mon.

So this is an excellent console and from a graphic performance as well. It looks really, really nice and, as you can see, the ROG phone 5 has no issues hitting a very smooth and stable 60 fps. One thing worth noting is that with dual screen, uh game systems being emulated. You can have both screens on screen or swap between screens. That's totally up to you, so the gaming performance is extremely smooth and Super Mario world is one of the best themes for the system.

So I had a lot of fun testing this one out. At least when I was playing with the controller as good as the ROG is for touchscreen gaming me personally, I'm more of a controller guy, which is why I kind of swapped into the game, sir x2 again, and I absolutely love playing these games with the controller. Now guys. If you want a video on, you know different controllers, I use, because I use quite a few. I would probably be happy to do a video on it.

So do let me know if that's something you'd be interested in next up: Nintendo 64! This is again one of the harder systems to emulate and the ROG phone 5 has absolutely no issue and to milk every single bit of performance. I actually have the aero active cooler on, which is where the phone's resting on a surface here, and I have it paired with a Bluetooth controller, and that is how I'm playing this again. There's no frame drops here. This is as good a Nintendo 64 experience as you can get. This here is Super Nintendo.

I should have probably put this somewhere earlier in the video, because hey SNES is not as hard to emulate as say the Nintendo 64. But again I just wanted to show you guys. Snaps, no issues, Donkey Kong runs extremely smoothly. This is a much more difficult to emulate system. This is probably one of the most uh difficult systems to emulate on a smartphone, the game cube.

This is Legend of Zelda on it and, as you guys can see it's crisp, it runs really smoothly. Uh again, the kg phone five with the snapdragon triple eight, has no issues emulating such a complicated system. Now one thing I hate about this emulator: this is Ciara uh. One thing I hate is that for this game, uh, particularly the right analog, stick is kind of inverted. There are ways to get around it, but that really annoys me with this game.

Overall, the emulation was pretty nice for this, and now, let's bring out the big guns- PlayStation portable god, of war, god of war, PlayStation portable. This isn't something you usually see: 60 fps on uh, or rather 30 fps on but hey here, it's a smooth, 30 fps, there's the occasional dip, but overall the game remains very, very playable. You couldn't really expect anymore out of the phone and the ROG phone. Five just delivers. Here's a little more gameplay now before we jump into the Wii and the PS2, both of which are insanely hard in regard to emulation here's something that is graphically good, but not as difficult to emulate.

This is the dream cast crazy taxi to one of my favorite games ever uh. Crazy taxi is something you know when I was a kid my parents wouldn't buy me a console, so this is something I'd spend hours waiting for at you know, malls and stuff to get my hands on and play a little also a lot of memories here. For me uh. This is a very fun little game and dream cast. Absolutely no issues, and now we get to the Nintendo Wii Super Mario 3d world uh.

As you can see, it runs flawlessly.60 fps super smooth uh. If there's anything um, there is an annoyance with this. It's going to be the controls, because this is uh. The Nintendo Wii is aimed more at uh motion controls right, you've got the v-mode and the nun chuck so emulating it mapping. Those controls are gonna, be a little of a chore with certain games, but overall the performance super smooth, and now it's time for the big one Sony PlayStation 2.

This is the daemon PS2, a very crappy emulator uh PS2 is it doesn't run well on android in general, it's very, very hard to find a good support for PS2 and over here it's its not running super smooth, but god of war ii. As you can see, it's very, very playable uh. It shows 60 fps, but then I don't think it's really running at a stable, 60 fps, but from a gaming perspective, as you guys can see, it's very, very playable, especially when you connect it to a controller. The experience here, I really loved it. So anyways guys.

I wanted to do something different uh. I didn't want to just do a regular, hey. You know what I'm running five android games on this and, as you can see, it runs great. No android games run great on a couple of year-old hardware. On this, I wanted to really push it to the max here's.

The reason why I tried emulators uh. So what do you guys think? What do you feel about this video? Let me know in the comments below and if you feel this any other game system that you'd like for me to test it out, leave that in the comments too, I would definitely try to do that. The next time I'm doing an emulation kind of video and believe me, I'm going to be doing a fair bit of emulation going forwards. I really uh I'm stuck into the retro stuff these days, so guys that's been it that's been pretty much it for this video uh. Whatever your thoughts are, let me know in the comments below and uh thumbs up thumbs down, based on whatever you feel thanks a lot for your time, thanks a lot for watching till next time.

My name is ash. You've been watching c4 retch, and I'm starting off. For now. You guys have a great day bye.
