Redmi Note 9 Pro - global release - review [xiaomify]

Hey, what's up its week, four Xiaomi phi, and today we're looking at the all-new Redmi Note 9 pro, I'm actually the first to have a look at the global version, which is a little different from the one you might have seen already. But is it any good? Well, let's find out, let's go so directly note.9 pro is quite similar in size to what you're used to with this line, it's 165 by 76, millimeter in size being only 8.8 millimeters thick weighing in at around two hundred and nine grams on the front, that's got a six-point 67-inch display with a 2400 by 1080 pixels resolution and a screen that is 415 it's bright and covered with Gorilla Glass 5, not the brightest, but not bad, either. On the front, you'll find a 16-megapixel selfie camera in that little dot on the top of the phone on the inside has got a Snapdragon 720 G processor, which is almost the same as the 730 G we've seen in — Rhett milk 830, aside from some really minor differences. It comes in a 64 or 128 gig storage model, both with 6 gigs of RAM, and that storage is expandable with a micro SD card up to 512. Gigs, more importantly, is that it's got a big I'll call it huge 5000, 20 William hour battery that supports 30 watts fast charging that should charge your phone while over 50% in less than 30 minutes. So that's pretty good to see it's got a dual SIM card and micros card slot.

It's got Bluetooth 5.0, it's got all the positioning like GPS and glass, and it's got NFC. It's got an infrared remote sensor on the top of the phone to control all sorts of devices and on the bottom it's got a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack. For those of you that really want that. It's got a fingerprint scanner in the power button on the side. On the back, it's got a four lens camera set up with a 64 megapixel main camera 8 megapixels, ultra wide-angle lens 5, megapixel macro camera and a 2 megapixel depth sensor for portrait photos.

It shoots, 4k, video of up to 30 frames per second and HD video up to 60 frames per second. So it does have some pretty interesting specs for a mid-tier level smartphone. But how is it well? First, it feels good I like the hand feel, and especially that little cutout for the power button with the fingerprint scanner is very nice. Then it seems to work very well. Actually, the phone runs me y11, the latest version of shimmies Android based operating system, and it's got all the features that you'll find on all the other phones running me UI.

So in that regard it does feel like any other Xiaomi phone as it's a global version. It comes with all the Google apps pre-installed like Google, Play, Chrome and all the others. It's got a bunch of pre-installed apps like Facebook Netflix and some games. You might want to get rid of right away. I've installed a bunch of apps myself like Adobe Lightroom, which did quite well, and I've, been playing some pop G, which it could handle just fine as well.

So, more importantly, how is that camera? Well, the camera is actually pretty good for this level phone, especially the 64 megapixel main camera works well been around a block here in Shanghai, and I've, been taking some photos over the last week to try it out, and I've gotten some pretty good results in these sunny days at night. It doesn't perform that. Well. These pictures are not the best that we've seen, but we've got to consider the price of this phone here as well interior shots in the evening with not that much light do come out a bit better and also this one here and the restaurant comes out quite okay, the ultra wide-angle lens is pretty nice. It's got a very nice and wide angle and really gives that wide angle perspective, a distortion that I personally do kind of like it's quite a bit lower in resolution, but some photos didn't come up.

Looking quite well, the macro lens is okay, I mean. If you have enough light, you can make some pretty artistic close-up shots, as you can get up to 2 centimeters close to the subject. The video is again not all the best, but it's not that bad I've taken some shots indoor and on the balcony with it and I mean it's not all that bad. The selfie camera is quite okay, it's a 16, megapixel cam, so it does have quite some details and photos do tend to come out. Looking quite well after things that I personally liked on this phone is the 30 watts, charging that's really quite alright, and the dual SIM card slot wit micro SD card, is very welcome.

One small detail that I really like is the new and improved haptic feedback engine. This gives you a very nice feedback when typing and pressing buttons, and it really feels like an improvement then for the audio. It's not even all that bad to be honest here, I'm playing some music on it. It's quite loud, not the best sound ever, but it's really not disappointing. The internal microphone does come out.

Quite well, this is a voice clip that I've recorded using the internal mic. Hey what's up is wick for Xiaomi fine, and this is what I sound like true to read me note, ninth row. Let's go again, it actually came out surprisingly well. So then what is so different on the Redmi Note 9 pro global compared to the one that you might have already seen. Well.

First, the camera is upgraded on the global model, from a 48 megapixel on the model in markets like India, 264 megapixels on the global model. The maximum charging speed is upgraded from 18 watts to support 30 watts, which is really quite a difference. Also, the RAM is 6 gigs on both models, as it is four gigs on the 64 gig model in India I mean they're, not all the world's biggest differences, but they are some differences that do make it a bit better and there once said you might really care about. So what does it cost and what do I think the Redmi Note 9 pro came out in Europe and a bunch of other countries for 269 euros for the 64 gig model and 299 euros for a hundred and twenty-eight gigs model. That seems to be a very competitive and fair price.

So what do I? Think of the Redmi Note, 9 bros well, I have to consider its price here, first and foremost, as it is a mid-tier level smartphone at a very decent price point. The main downside is that it's very, very glossy on the backside. It's really close to being an actual mirror, and it's a fingerprint magnet. So you probably really want to use that included covered. Mostly it's got mid-tier specs like the processor, it's not the best, but still quite capable.

It's got a decent amount of RAM, which is not the most but still ok, but especially seeing it has things like NFC. It's got that headphone jack. Furthermore, it's got the IR blaster. Furthermore, it's got that very great 5000 William hour battery. Furthermore, it's got that 30 watts fast charger in the box, and it's got quite a decent camera for this range of phones, so it definitely includes some higher-end features that do make this phone stand out in this segment.

So, if you're looking for a phone for a smaller budget, the Redmi Note 9 pro is one to look out for, especially if you care about things like NFC, expandable, storage, a headphone jack and something pretty cool like that IR blaster. This is definitely one to consider. So that's it for the Redmi Note, 9 probes, retinues mid-tier level, smartphone that does offer a few competitive features.
