Redmi Note 9 5G Review - Is this a Worthy 5G phone?

And Xiaomi has released another note, 9 series in China, so people have been asking Xiaomi where's our Redmi Note 9 series in China and finally, here it is. I have here in my hand the Redmi Note 9 5g, which is the non-pro edition and a 5g there's three variant of that. So the Redmi Note 9 4g, the Redmi Note 9 5g and the Redmi Note 9 pro 5g, which I have previously reviewed, and people have been looking at the pro version too much, and they forget about this one. The non-pro 5g version so join me as I unbox this for you. Let's discover what this thing can do. Let's go foreign, my, so we've already unboxed this phone, and I'm surprised the design looks nice at the back.

It has carried over the design of the Redmi Note 9 pro 5g, though it's not a chambered on top and a chambered on the bottom. This looks more even uh. I like this design better than that of the pro version, which uh well kind of look like the x3. To be honest with you, and I really like the grip on this phone, especially the matte finish at the back. It's really not slippery and not a fingerprint magnet look at it.

Uh the glossy bag normally leaves a lot of fingerprints at the back, which is well not really looking nice when there's a lot of smudges, but it looks more beautiful when it's pretty clean. Well, if you have the time to clean it all the time now, this phone comes with the MediaTek dimension, 800 view, which is not a bad performing. Uh chipset then coupled with either three configuration with a six one. Two eight gigs of storage, eight one, two, eight gigs of storage or an eight two, five six gigs of storage. All of them are UFS 2.2, read and write speed. Now I checked with an tutu.

It gave it a 340 000 points which is quite mind-blowing for a chipset like this and a price like this uh. It's really mind-blowing, and I'm really surprised it's a really performing phone now, uh, let's check 3d mark and the results is in. Furthermore, it got 3176 points from the slingshot extreme, which means this is probably a good gaming phone now checking geek bench. Furthermore, it got a 598 single core points and, of course, 1791 multicore score, which is well good, good scores. No one thing that is lacking here is the refresh rate.

I wish that they can bump it a little up at least 90 hertz. This would make it probably a good phone to buy. Now. Let me show you good news on this phone. It has a wide wideband level, one rating meaning you can watch HD on Netflix here on this phone.

Now speaking of HD, this phone has a 6.53 IPS LCD, 1080p, corning, gorilla glass, 5 protection up front, which makes this phone really, really nice, really easy to use under bright sunlight. I have no problem, uh, swiping left and right. It's really, really responsive. I just really wish that it has carried over a 90 hertz, at least for this phone. It will make it really a good buy for this year.

Now I did try watching some videos and some movies over on this phone, and I can see that the display is nice. The graphic is nice, and I cannot say that the IPS LCD on this one is uh, something not that good uh. I can see the white is pretty white on this one. I didn't play a couple of games on this phone playing Call of Duty and genii impact uh, both games. Furthermore, I did enjoy and Call of Duty.

It's really smooth uh, probably a few minor frame drops on this one, but not really too much and playing genii impact. On the other hand, I can say that I enjoyed this game, but uh there's a little skip on from time to time, not really that often but uh. I can feel it uh on several occasions. When you're in the middle of a heated battle, you can see that there's a little skip, but well it could probably be corrected on the next software update. This phone comes with a 48 mp triple camera setup with an aperture of 1.8. Then, of course, there's a 8mp of ultra lens 2 mp of macro lens, which can shoot up to 4k 30fps on video, then it's coupled with a 13mp front, selfie camera.

Now, let's take a quick look at some shots from the rear camera. Now you can see that it got me some pretty decent shot, but I can see that it also got me some wash away shots, not really that nice shots over here. So we can say that outdoors, it's performing good, but the greens are quite saturated. I don't know why I didn't turn on any settings here, except the AI. Maybe probably the AI, enhance it a little too much, but I can say overall uh.

There are some photos here that are a little washed away and well I'm not happy with the performance of this camera and let's take a look at the front camera well, taking some selfie from the front. Camera is well just an average. I cannot see that this camera has a wow selfie camera, but it's just an average camera on front, and it takes some good shots, but it also takes some rainy shots, especially on dark scenes videos from the rear, camera. Okay, I can see that it's a little stable, uh, not super jittery. Now I have found that you can turn on the image stabilization when you use the 1080p 30fps, but when you use the 4k 30fps, it's not available that you need stabilization, but I can see that it's a little more stable than other phones in the market with the same price point now taking some quick videos up front.

So this is how it looks like when you're vlogging using the front camera of the Redmi Note 9 5g china ROM edition. Well not bad! Now. This is what I call an entry-level basic vlogging phone, so I can say that the front camera is quite stable using my bare hands uh taking this video. Well, it's not super jittery, and it's quite stable to my surprise- and I can really praise it for that. Now this phone comes with a 5 000 milliampere hours of battery, with 18 watts of fast charging, which is not bad.

We were able to squeeze out the 16 watts from the charger and guess what it finished charging from 14 to 100 in just one hour and 50 minutes, not bad below two hours is still below two hours so running the battery stress test, putting his phone to 50 brightness and let it run overnight. It gave me 14 hours and 56 minutes which is well roughly 15 hours of screen on time. I've been using this for quite a few days already, and I can say that this phone really packs a lot of punch and truly enough, I'm happy with its performance um the way it handles the battery efficiency. It's really nice lasted me roughly two days before I hit the charging dock again. One of the best features I like about this phone is having a side mounted fingerprint scanner at this price point and check it out pretty responsive.

So we have pretty much finished with the review of this phone, and I'm quite impressed with this phone, and it's really something to consider. If you're buying a phone, if you're not really too much into gaming, I could highly recommend this phone. It has a good camera. Well, good is good, but not to the extent that you would uh expect too much from its camera. It's just average above average, but I cannot say it's one of the best camera in the market.

No uh. There are a lot of more cameras out there, which is better than this one. Of course, the pro version is better than this one, and we're not yet quite done here, there's something that I want to announce today on my channel we're having a giveaway again.
