Hey, what's good guys, this is sum studio. Welcome to the unboxing of the brand-new razor phone. The mobile gaming world has finally leveled up, and this is not just any razor phone. This is the special edition razor phone. Well, what's so special about it, I'll come on to that so stay tuned and enjoy the unboxing, so there will only be 1337 on this special edition razor phone sold. So it's somewhat of a rare breed.

It's only sold at 3 stores in the UK Denmark and Island and I just had to pick one up before they were all gone right, no messing about- let's get straight for the unboxing time to peel off the plastic and take a look at this brand-new beast of a phone and, if you're new here and enjoy what you see do hit that subscribe button, because I'll be testing the razor phone against all the hottest smartphones out right now. So, let's get on with the show. Okay, as this is the special edition there is. The certified label in the bottom right-hand corner the box itself and packaging is clean and a minimalistic with the matte black finish with the three-headed serpent emblem at the center of the box, there's no other branding around the sides of the box. Apart from the razor browning on this side, with its unique strap to open the box, that's a very nice touch and something that you don't see by other manufacturers right.

Let's take a look under the hood Wow official documentation to introduce that razor phone. Now, isn't that something and guys, if you want, you can pause the video and have a quick read through, but I'll summarize in a nutshell. The CEO of Racer is here to inform the user that its device is the culmination of their blood, sweat and toil that began years ago. They built an incredible team with a single mission to deliver the ultimate device in mobile entertainment wow. That is a huge statement, and I'll be sure to put that statement to the test.

In my comparison, videos so stay tuned enter the razor phone watch, listen play. You know what it almost feels like. I'm unboxing a new console, it really has that unique feel to it. So there is the new beast. The razor phone neatly tucked in and placed firmly inside, ok can I get it out carefully, don't drop it on the concrete floor.

Wow, nice I'll come back to it momentarily and put it aside and take a look at the remainder contents of the box. So underneath the first layer of the box is where you'll find the accessories and the content for the razor phone and there Wow so in total four mini cartridges to sift through. Let's begin, ok, beginning with the first mini box, I have here the product information guide, with all technical formation and registration information out and on the left, razor cortex deals. Hmm okay, I'll check that out on the Play store later on. Next up is arguably the coolest sim, ejector pin I'll, probably ever see and the biggest card ever to place it in I mean just look at the pin.

It's got the razor Brandon cut out and there's nothing like your standard, pins, nice and finally, I have some stickers by Racer in the neon green color. Not bad at all, and that's all for this cartridge next up in this box is the USB type-c connector ? 3.5 millimeter headphone jack adapter. Yes, unfortunately, we have another victim of the headphone jack being removed. What do you guys think about this? The premium braided on the wire is strong and will be durable. So that's a good touch and there we see the Racer branding on the adapter itself cool moving on in this cartridge we have the USB type-c charging cable again, the cable is of premium braided variety it'll, certainly last you a while and won't be easily damaged compared to your standard plastic charging wires and, finally, there's the charger itself with quick charge for plus support, which I'll certainly test out in the upcoming battery charging tests.

It's a three-pin plug as it is a UK variant on the charger itself, is the three-headed snake emblem and the Racer branding very nice, and that's it guys for the contents of the Racer foam box. Nothing left all double check and yeah we're done here now. Moving on to the beast itself, let's check it out right. Let me get this plastic off. I love this part, and now behold, the one and only razor phone, the overall design and look is a brushed metal.

Unibody and razor have decided to keep a traditional square box design. So razor are not following 2007 teens trend of edge to edge bezel of design, which is fine. Why? Because they've implemented something extremely fresh and unique, a pair of truly insane speakers at the top and bottom of this foam. Razors audio is tuned by Dolby with Dolby Atmos support and the 24 bit DAC has been certified by thanks. So it's not just a gamer's phone, but a multimedia phone as well.

That razor will provide you with the best video and audio out there with Dolby Atmos support. It essentially means you have this rich cinematic, sound experience which travels around you from ear to ear so of like 360 degrees. So to speak, you need to experience it in person is awesome back to the overall look of the phone. It's a 5.7 inch 1440 by 2560 native quad, HD IPS LCD with exhort technology due to its large bezels. For the speakers.

It only has a screen to body ratio of around 72.2%, it's the first ever phone to bring 120 Hertz, refresh rate screen to the Android Market, which is phenomenal. This is easily the most impressive novelty about this phone up top is the proximity and light sensors next to the 8 megapixel selfie camera in all honesty, I, really like the look of this phone and have to say it certainly has great build quality and with its all-round brush metal unibody, it gives you a solid grip which feels great to hold so on the right hand, side of the reservoir is the power born, and the bone also acts as a fingerprint sensor. So its side mounted, and it's somewhat of a natural position to be in I personally, don't have any complaints with it. Further, up is the sim ejector tray, and it is quite a thick phone in terms of its size, as you guys can see. On the other side, we have our volume buttons, which are shaped circular, which is a bit odd, since the entire theme of the phone is Square and box like interesting, and here we go moving on to the back of the phone.

Nor is anything unique well. This is the special edition. After all, so what's so special? No, the hardware specs are the exact same. The difference here is in the logo. The special edition model gets the green triple headed snake logo, while the regular model gets a chrome style logo, but here's the real difference which razor won't tell you come closer.

The green three-headed snake comes to ? I'd, like Sharon. If you gather all seven dragon balls that you didn't know. Okay exclusivity, my friends, yeah I wish the Sharon thing was real -. A collector's edition. Remember razor are a gaming company after all, but you know what the green three-headed snake does look sweet.

So, at the back of the phone, a truly stylish matte black metal surface Reza did a great job shaping and blending the antenna lines along the top and bottom near seamlessly, with the overall design up top. Is razor take on a dual lens camera setup, so we have two 12 megapixel lenses. The first is an F 1.8 wide-angle lens and the second is an F 2.6 telephoto lens. The camera setup also has a dual tone: LED flash now. Let me just stop and say: the camera was clearly not a priority for Racer and based on what I've seen and heard it's somewhat underwhelming.

To put it nicely, the benchmark has been set very high in today's smartphone photography and video world and naturally, when you cross-reference the razor phone, it's understandable that some are a bit disappointed in this aspect. Moving on the bottom, no headphone jack, as mentioned earlier on, but there's your USB type-c port with the mic and some sort of placement of Racer phone's manufacturing information, a unique spot to play. I guess, right, I think it's time, I turned this phone on powered by Android and the three-headed snake. So the overall brightness seems to be a bit low at the moment, but I'll sort that out once way razor slick, startup animation. No doubt, okay, guys, so I quickly set up the phone off camera, so I can jump straight into the phone itself without taking up too much time and there it is in all its glory Wow.

Even the sound effect when you swipe up is awesome. Let's hear that once again, real quick, exceptional, so yeah guys the phone is a bit dim at the moment and even whilst I have turned up the brightness to full, it certainly isn't the brightest display out there. This is possibly due to the IG's or technology in the display to save energy. My first impressions in person is that it looks very stylish and futuristic and with its 120 Hertz Ultra motion refresh rate smartphone display. It is so buttery smooth in fact, I later found out that the frame rate that you guys are seeing currently is 90 Her, not 120.

When I switch to about the highest setting off camera, the user experience was exceptionally smooth. I can't wait till more phones implement this. The display also has Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which is still good by today's standard and with an IPS LCD quad HD display with a wide color gamut watching movies. Videos and gaming, of course, will provide an incredible viewing experience, especially on those higher frame rates. Well done, Racer.

So, overall in terms of specs, the razor phone is following 2017 s flagship trend, as it has the snapdragon 835 chipsets, with an outscore CPU internal memory of 64 gigabytes, which is expandable to 256 gigs, with a micro SD card, a massive 8 gigs of ram q, the speed tests and has the Arena 540 GPU. It comes with android, 7.1.1, NGA out of the box and runs a very Swift and clean nova launcher for its UI. It's quite block free and a stock Android honestly Racer have gone insane because the UI has a tremendous amount of customization perfect for the PC gamer, who doesn't like a bit of customization right. So I have quite a few software updates to complete and once they're done, you know, what's coming next I'm putting the Racer phone to the tests ASAP. Finally, guys the Racer phone has a four thousand William hour battery secure the battery drain test.

There is no waterproofing on this model either, which is a shame considering its overall size and build we'll save that for Racer form to the next generation, I suppose in terms of pricing you're. Looking at 600 pounds here in the UK, is it worth it or stay tuned I'll find out wow guys a lot to cover in this boxing and genuinely my first overall impressions are I really like what this phone has achieved, simply on the basis that Razer has done something unique and special with this phone. We almost forget these days that, at the end of the day, these phones are communication devices, yeah they're, just phones, but who cares about that? Now? We want the best native quad HD. HD are all that displays Dolby, Atmos, cinematic audio experiences, a DSLR like camera experience, solid battery life, something unique and stylish with tons of features and function, ability, Wow, truly a phone is so much more now it's a phenomenal machine and the level of technology that can be implemented into a single device nowadays is unbelievable. I'm astonished at where we are now at the end of 2017.

I can't wait to see what new heights and benchmarks can be achieved in 2018. It has been an incredible year for the smartphone industry and with every new iteration and model, it's only getting better and better, and on that note guys I want to say it's also been a truly amazing year for me.
