POCO X3 GT:EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW (IN-DEPTH REVIEW)

Hey everyone welcome to top-down tech where we talk about tech from the top to the bottom. Today, we're going to be taking a deep dive on the photo x3 gt, so grab a snack, maybe a drink, because this is going to be a long one, because we're going to be going in depth on this phone. So first off here's a quick unboxing, so you guys would know what's included in the package, but basically the quick unboxing experience here is probably the same. As with the Poco f3, you have the sim ejector pin you have the Poco stickers, you have the quick start guide, you have the warranty card, and you have a soft case and then inside the box, of course you have the phone itself, but we'll check that out later, and then we also have a charger. Now the charger is one of its highlights, because this can charge up to 67 watts, so really nice there. Here in this little box, you can find an USB to 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, so that already tells you that this doesn't have a headphone jack, and I know I'm just as sad as you are finding out that this doesn't have a headphone jack and by the way, the colorway that I got here is to stargaze black, and why is it called to stargaze black? Well, that's because there are some starry sky design here, I'm not sure if you guys can see that, but there are also two other color ways. Here we have the cloud white and the blue wave.

Now, I'm not sure if any of those other colorways have matte finishes, but this one has a glossy back panel. Now, let's quickly check out all of its port. So at the bottom we have a microphone, an USB charging port and one of its two speakers on the right side. We have the power button and, of course the fingerprint scanner is mounted there as well, and then we have volume rockers here on the right side too, on the top we have an infrared blaster and the second speaker, as well as a noise-cancelling microphone on the left side. We have a dual sim card slot, and you heard that right, it's just a dual sim card slot, so this doesn't have expandable memory, so go on it's okay to cry so now that we have that out of the way, let's check out the camera module on this, it has a triple camera setup, with the main sensor being a 64 megapixel camera, and we'll talk more about that in the camera discussion, the back panel is made out of plastic.

So if you're going to put this on a rough surface, this might get scratched easily. So I suggest that you put on a case on this and on the front we do have a tiny punch hole. Now there is one major thing about its front: display it's protected by corning gorilla, glass Invictus. This is something that you can find on. High-End phones same with the Xiaomi mi 11 and most of the flagship Samsung phones.

Now before I make you watch the entire video, I already want to tell you the price, because the price on this is so good in my opinion. So here are the prices for the different countries. Next, let's talk about the biggest thing, I think about the Poco x3 gt, and that is its processor. So this one is using the MediaTek, the man city 1100 chipsets, and you might think whoa whoa whoa hold on there they're using a MediaTek chipset that doesn't sound so good but hold on don't judge yet, because I'm here to tell you that the MediaTek, the NCT 1100, is an actually perfect chipset, and we all know that MediaTek has a bad graph in producing really hot chipsets, but I think we've gone beyond that point now. I think they've turned the page.

Now before I proceed, I will be doing a deep dive on the actual chipset itself. So if you guys want to check that out I'll be linking that up here, I think the number one thing that you need to know about the dimension 1100 is that we moved on from the 12 nanometer fabrication down to only six nanometer fabrication. That means this is in between the flagship chipsets from snapdragon. So we're talking about the seven nanometer fabrication on the snapdragon 817 to the five nanometer fabrication on the snapdragon triple a so right in the middle is the six nanometer fabrication of the demand city 1100. Now I don't want to get too technical here, but what that simply means in layman's term is that you will get more performance but less power consumption.

So this is going to be a power efficient chipset. So if you are a power user, this is going to be great for you now, of course, we do have the an tutu benchmark points on the x3 gt, and we got 596 000 into two benchmark points here, really, really good. So if we're going to be comparing this to phones in the same price segment, we're going to be looking at the Realme 8 pro, which only has a snapdragon 720 g, that's really disappointing, and then you might be also looking at the recently released Oppo Reno 6z, which only has a density 800 view chipsets. So we're going to be looking at the huge difference in terms of performance to the phones that are priced similarly to this one, but all of those benchmarks and all of those hypothetical numbers are just numbers. What matters most is the actual real-life performance.

So how does this perform on a regular basis? Well pretty good, in my opinion, because this is something that I've been using for my messaging. This is something that I use for calls now. The number one thing that I want to highlight here is that, even if I use this as my hotspot, a 5g hotspot at that it doesn't get hot. That is an amazing feat because, with my previous experience with snapdragon phones, I had the mi 10 pro. I had the mi 11, and I had the one plus nine.

All of those phones really heated up if you use them as your hotspot, I do have an unlimited internet service, so this is so useful to me, although I know that sounds like this might be a very expensive hotspot device, but still it is something that works for me, and it might work for you as well. If you are in the same boat as me, but anyway, if you're going to be using this for all of your favorite apps, this will definitely be able to run all of those apps. Now we're talking about social media, we're talking about taking photos taking 4k videos, and we're also talking about some gaming here. So this is going to be a beast in terms of performance because, again the powerful dimension 1100 is a great performing chipset, and it has great thermals as well. Another benefit of having a chipset like this is that you can get the latest in terms of connectivity, so you now have a dual 5g network on this, as well as Wi-Fi six and to top it all off.

This also has UFS 3.1, so speed is not gonna, be an issue for this phone next up. Let's talk software here, so you have android 11 out of the box and mini 12.5, plus the Poco launcher. So pretty much your typical Poco experience. If you watch several videos of Poco phones in 2021, so that means there are a few bloatware here, the typical games that are included here and then there's also Amazon pre-installed. So if you don't want those apps, you can just easily uninstall them.

Looking at the special features, you still have game, turbo, video toolbox, floating windows and second space. I think second space is really important for those who just want to have thought protection in typical Xiaomi and Poco fashion. You can always expect to get about three years of support in terms of software. Next up. Let's talk display here, so this has a 6.6 inch, IPS LCD, full HD display, and it has a 120 hertz refresh rate and 240 hertz touch sampling rate. Those are perfect.

Specs for a phone like this for a mid-range device, the x3 gt has a six-stage dynamic switch display, which means that this will automatically adapt to the content that you're watching, because you really don't want your phone to be running on 120 hertz, if you're just watching a movie, that's shot in 24 frames per second now. Another thing that other reviewers might not mention is that this has a dot display, so a dot display ensures that this one will have a more vivid display as compared to others. But you can see that we'll be comparing this with the Poco f3 side by side, and you guys tell me which one is better. Of course, I know that the AMOLED display will always win, but what do you guys think about how the Poco x3 gt performed in terms of its display against an AMOLED display? Now, if you're going to be using this outdoors, there is an option to turn on the sunlight mode, so that will hopefully improve your experience if you're going to be using this under direct sunlight. I haven't really tried this feature because it's been raining cats and dogs here in the Philippines.

Now, if you love reading on your phone, another feature that you might like when it comes to the display is the reading mode. So what it does is it tries to simulate the paper texture which reduces the eye strain now. One thing that I usually connect with the display is the DRM info, so this only has white vine level 3, which is unfortunate for those who want to experience HD streaming from Netflix from Amazon, prime from Disney plus. So if you guys are looking forward to watch HD Netflix here, you might be a little disappointed, but hopefully they can upgrade this to white vine level, one in the retail version, because the unit that I have right here is just a review unit. Next, I want to tell you about the battery on the Poco x3 gt.

So, as I mentioned earlier, this now has a 5 000 William hour battery capacity plus. The main highlight here is the 67 watt fast charging, so remember with the Poco x3 pro and the Poco f3. We only get up to 33 watts, so fast charging this one 67 watts of fast charging. That means you can charge this from zero to 100 in just 40 minutes, but how were they able to do that? How were they able to squeeze out so much power or so much fast charging in this mid-range device? Well, it's not really a secret. They just use the same middle tab technology from the previous phones as well.

The black shark 3, I believe, used the same middle tab technology as well as the ROG phone five, but imagine that you can get the same technology on a mid-range device. That alone is really great value for you as a user. But let's talk about how long you can use this. Well, you can expect to use this for about a day and a half or even two days really depends on your use case scenario. Everyone's use case scenario is different, but just to give you a brief idea, I charged this last night at about 8 p.

m, and I haven't charged it today, and it's already 6 p. m. So that's almost 24 hours now, and I still have 31 battery left, and I've been using this as my mobile hotspot here in my place, because I don't really have a wired connection here and by the way some of you might ask if you can play and charge at the same time and while that is not advisable, but if you really have to do that, you can actually get about 55 minutes of charging time from zero to 100, even if you're playing. So that's just an extra piece of tidbit for you guys out there. Next, let's talk about the camera, so this is equipped with a 64, megapixel Univision camera sensor, and we also have an 8 megapixel ultrawide sensor and a 2 megapixel macro camera.

I haven't been able to take decent quality photos here in the Philippines, because again, as I mentioned, it has been raining like cats and dogs here, so usually the sky is gray, and I haven't seen the sunlight in almost a week now or maybe even over a week now. So you just have to take a look at the photos that I have for you right now that are showing on the screen, but also, I will be including a Google Drive link in the description box, where you can see the full resolution, photos, and I'll try to add more photos once we get some daylight or sunlight here in the Philippines, because I think that's going to be a better gauge for you. If you are looking at the camera quality of the Poco x3 gt, it does have a lot of camera features. However, you can see that it has a night mode. It has a 64 megapixel mode, a short video mode.

It has panorama documents, you have the vlog mode as well. You have a slow motion. Time-lapse, long exposure, dual video mode, clone mode which is super fun to use. If you know how to use this and then, of course, you have the pro mode as well, and also they do have a lot of photo and video filters here. So if you want to get creative, you can do that with the Poco x3 gt.

As for video capability, you can shoot 4k 30 frames per second. If I do switch the image stabilization, the actual image stabilization logo in the menu it will switch to 1080p. So at 1080p you can get a really stable image, but with 4k 30 frames per second, you can get just um. I guess the bare minimum in terms of as. Now, as for night shots, you can expect the same performance from most of your Xiaomi and Poco phones you're, not really going to see a huge improvement.

There will be some minor improvement in terms of brightness and visibility of your photo, but overall it's still going to be a dark photo if you don't have enough lighting in your area. So that's about it for the camera discussion. Let's move on to gaming, I think the gaming discussion is one of the most important things that you want to know about, because I think this is where you'll see the most impact from the dementia 1100. I was pleasantly surprised that gentian impact can run at 60 frames per second at the highest graphical settings without any issues at all. It's just an amazing fun experience to play, games and impact on this, especially because you can push this to the highest graphical settings and what's wonderful about this- is that the heating at the back panel is not as bad as what I experienced with other phones now moving on.

Let's talk about Call of Duty now Call of Duty. Mobile is something that I was expecting do not really perform the best way on the demand city 1100, because, with my experience with previous demand, city chipsets Call of Duty usually isn't well optimized for the demand city chipset, I'm talking about realm x7 and the focal m3 pro, because, from my experience with those chipsets, all I got was up to medium graphical settings and that's it and then most of the other graphics settings are all grayed out, or you can't really toggle them, but with the Poco x3 gt, all the graphical options are available here and better, yet whether you're playing battle royale or your favorite multiplayer mode, it's not gonna, sweat at all. You're going to have a fluid experience, just an overall great playing experience on the Poco XP gt. So two thumbs up for that, and then of course I tried this on pub gas well, and I was able to get extreme smooth performance here.60 frames per second is guaranteed all of those in the comment section who want me to try GFX tools, I'm not going to do that, because I don't want to push this to its limit. You are limited, however, to HD ultra for now, but it says that HDR mode is coming as well.

If you are looking forward to that and then lastly, of course, everyone's favorite here in Southeast Asia is mobile legends, so with mobile legends. Ultra graphical settings is already available as well as HFR mode. So to those who are looking forward to playing mobile legends on the Poco x3 gt, a great gaming experience awaits you so overall, I really had a wonderful time playing games on the Poco x3 gt, and this is where you see the major impact of having a really great performing chipset, like the demand ct 1100, because you'll just see an overall great performance in terms of power in terms of thermals, so the Poco x3 gt is definitely something that gamers should highly consider. Now before we proceed to my final thoughts on the Poco x3 gt, let me just share some things that I might not have mentioned yet this one has a dual speaker setup, and it has adobe Atmos feature. So that's for a better cinematic experience, but to be honest, if you're going to be watching movies on this one, it's not really advisable to watch using the speakers of your phone, but not only does this have Dolby Atmos, but this is also hi-res audio certified.

So for those who are always asking whether a phone is high-res audio certified, I can confirm that the Poco x3 gt is high-res audio certified, and then this also has the latest Bluetooth 5.2, which means you can connect two audio devices, and then you can just seamlessly switch between them. Oh, and one more thing that I love about the Poco x3 gt, is it now has voice over LTE. So that means, even if you are using this as a hotspot and then someone calls you, your internet connection is not gonna, get disconnected really nice and, of course the usual NFC is still there and then wireless charging there's no wireless charging here, no IP water protection, but I assume this has at least the bare minimum of ip53. But don't quote me on that because I'm not really sure about that, but they usually go as low as ip53 but yeah. Those are the other extra tidbits that I wanted to share with you guys before we move on to my final thoughts.

What do you guys think about the Poco x3 gt so far with everything that I've said to you? I think this is another banger from polo. Now, unfortunately, for my Indian viewers, I don't think it's coming to your region, but that's okay, because you guys have the Poco f3 gt, which we don't have here in Southeast Asia. However, for those who will have the chance to get the Poco x3 gt, I think this is going to be a great option for you if you are looking for a dual 5g phone and just an overall great experience in a phone now for those who already have the Poco x3 pro, I know some of you might be considering on trading up or upgrading from your vocal expert pro to your Poco XP gt. All I have to say is that there are tons of benefits to switching to the Poco x3 gt, but depending on how much you spend in trying to upgrade to the Poco extra gt, it might not be a good financial idea to really upgrade from your Poco x3 pro to the Poco x3 gt. However, the Poco XP gt is a really magnificent option for those who are still looking for a brand new mid-range device.

Now, for those of you who are wondering on whether to get the Poco x3 gt or the Poco f3 instead, well, it's going to be a tough decision, and you're going to have to weigh out a few things in favor of the Poco f3 as compared to the Poco x3 gt. So with the Poco f3, you get an AMOLED display, but you only have 33 watts of fast charging. With the Poco x3 gt, you only have 120hz IPS display, but you do get 67 watts of fast charging. Now I wouldn't say that the camera is way better on the Poco f3, but if you guys want to see a comparison between the Poco f3 and the Poco x3 gt, let me know in the comments so at the end of the day, which phone should you get if you are choosing between the Poco x3 pro the Poco x3 gt and the Poco f3? Personally, I would go with the Poco f3 because it has a very slim design, and it looks like a premium phone overall plus. I just really love the AMOLED display, if you guys saw the side by side between the Poco x3 gt and the f3 you'll know that the AMOLED display is far superior to an IPS display.

But again that's just me, but you really have to personally weigh the pros and cons which one you would prefer. Would you like to have a bigger battery capacity and faster charging speed or just the AMOLED display anyway, if you guys want to get your own Poco x3 gt, all the links will be in the description box and if you enjoyed this video and find it helpful, please give it a thumbs up subscribe to my channel and hit that bell button? So you can watch more videos like this in the future. That's it for today guys keep safe and have a great day. You.
