Poco F3 review: Stunning phone at a brilliant price!

Over, the past few years, the smartphone market has become increasingly saturated to the point that it's become increasingly rare for a phone to pop along and make me think, oh my days, what a brilliant device- or I can't believe, this costs x amount, but the Poco f3, surprisingly, is one of those phones. Now Poco or Poco of course, started life as a sub brand of Xiaomi and has always prided itself on offering fantastic performance at a pretty low price, and the Poco f3 is the pinnacle of that I'm ken button and in this review I'm going to tell you why. I think that, and while you're here, you could tap like subscribe and tap the notification bell. That would be splendid, there's something about the Poco f3 design, that's really appealing, and at first it was a little hard to understand why, looking at it there's nothing truly special on first impressions. It's very much your standard, modern phone design made with a plastic frame sandwiched between glass layers on the front and the back. The camera housing is quite attractive, with Poco gracefully, avoiding falling into that trap of just slapping a boring rectangle on the back and lobbing some cameras in it, it's more purposeful than that, with the subtle thin ring outlining the main camera.

What I found great about this phone, however, is the shape. The combination of having that expansive completely flat screen on the front and the gentle curves on the back on a relatively large phone mean that when it comes to communicating and replying to messages, it's super practical and comfortable to use in two hands flat screen means little chance of misfiring on the installed keyboard. While the relative thinness means you don't feel like you're holding a brick. Similarly, that flat screen means we've not had an instance of accidental touches now, obviously, there's no denying. This is quite a large foam, it's wide, and it's tall, but it's less than eight millimeters thin and that definitely helps compared to say the OnePlus word.

It feels noticeably slimmer in the hand that screen we mentioned, takes up nearly all the space on the front and there's just enough space carved out on the side for placing the two buttons on the right. The power button also features the fingerprint sensor which in a button, as slim as this, would have seemed impossible just a couple of years ago, but it's there, and it's surprisingly practical. It's fast and responsive and rarely needs a second scanner experience. The only time this speed becomes a problem is when you've just pressed the button to lock the phone, and it thinks you've immediately wanted to unlock it again. But that's a minor complaint now you'd assume perhaps that having a physical fingerprint sensor means it's an lcd.

But it's not Poco has put a large 6.67 inch AMOLED panel in this phone, and it's genuinely great with its full HD plus resolution. It doesn't quite reach the pin sharp look of quad HD, but it's got a lot of going for it. It combines an impressive 13 brightness with 120hz refresh rates and hdr10 support, and it shows the screen is bright and vivid. Any white elements on the display are super bright, and it's a great panel for playing games on partly down to the saturation of those colors and partly down to the smoothness of animation. There are times, especially when watching some HDR Netflix shows that it gets a little dark and the display's tendency to be a bit to contrast.

Heavy can affect things, but it's still impressive for a phone. That's relatively affordable performance, of course, isn't just down to the screen. It's down to the power inside the phone. It's got some serious power now, usually when you're looking at phones in this section of the market, you typically find a snapdragon 700 series or 600 series processor, but this doesn't. The snapdragon 870 in the f3 is almost top tier level performance, and that means everything is virtually as fast as if you were using a high-end android phone.

Now, of course, if you were to do benchmarks on the phone, you'd see lower numbers in the results than if you were to compare it to the snapdragon 8, but in real daily use. You'd be hard pushed to find too much difference, especially when looking at reactions and loading times from the f3 compared to much more expensive rivals from the likes of Samsung, Oppo or even OnePlus. Launching and playing top games is a breeze and the animation response from general areas of the interface is basically instantaneous. Even its battery life is up there. It's 4520 William hours, which is roughly on par with the four and a half thousand typical capacity that we tend to find in large android phones, and it'll easily get you through a full day.

We averaged around a day and a half on this one and that's down partly to aggressive battery management. That does sometimes mean you miss notifications. Unless you go into your favorite app settings and make sure it's allowed to stay open with no limits. The other software quirk I didn't enjoy was the additional interface when installing apps from the play store. It checks to see if it's safe, despite the play, store already having its own play, store, protect features, it's an added, unnecessary step.

I think now, even for the camera for this part of the market. It's strong granted, you don't get the same quality as if you would in something like the s21 ultra or the Oppo find x3 pro, but the main camera in the triple system at the back is more than capable of taking sharp, vivid and lifelike shots. The ultrawide that comes along with it isn't as hot altering colors, often being a bit more blurry likely due to the lack of is. It's not great at focusing on close objects either. So it's best just to use this one for when you want to do landscapes from afar still in daylight, for general social media sharing.

The primary camera is more than good enough on the whole, then that combination of a decent primary camera added to a smooth and fast performance, plus, practical and comfortable design, makes it one of the most effortless phones on the market, particularly in this sub 400 pound category. Is it perfect? No, but it's a standout phone in a very crowded segment of the market and one that, for its price, is incredibly easy to recommend I've been cam, I'm at cam Bunsen on social media.
