Poco F2 Pro Review: Best value for money? By PhoneArena

The original polka foam made a big splash among budget shoppers for just $350. It offered a flagship, processor and great overall performance, but it's been nearly two years since then, and the series has been in dire need of fresh blood, enter the Poco f2 Pro, an ambitious flagship that follows in the footsteps of the original, affordable price and delightfully fast internals. It's 5, G ready. Furthermore, it has an impressively large battery, good camera and top-notch performance, and it costs just around $500. So is it a flagship, killer, hello, everyone and welcome to the phone arena review of the Poco f2 Pro, the Poco f2 prepares an aluminum frame with a matte glass back and while the phone sits quite comfortably in the hand, you should have in mind that it's extremely slippery. Fortunately, Xiaomi throws in the drippy case in the box, which fixes that now, with the curved back and flashy styling, the Poco f2 pro looks the part, but it's also very big and bulky foam at 7.7 ounces or nearly 220 grams. It's one of the heaviest phones we have ever used, and this definitely creates discomfort.

Especially if you carry your phone in your pocket, if you look for a more reasonably sized phone now, the 1+8 might be a better fit. You will find a link to that review in the description box, but that phone and most others don't offer a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, like you get here in the Poco and even an infrared blaster that you can use as a remote control for your TV or ACC. The Poco f2 pro comes with a big 6 point: 7 inch display no, not no punch hole, it's a true edge to edge screen with a tiny bezel, and it looks great. So where is that front camera? Hmm? Oh, here this popping up and down with its cool little motor when you need it, the screen is also flat, which is a plus in our books, and this is an AMOLED kind.

With a 1080p resolution, you can get quite bright too, making it easier to use outdoors now. Overall, the screen looks good with pleasing colors and Xiaomi offers a lot of settings to find unit. It doesn't have a flashy high, refresh rate option and that's one of the compromises for the lower price, but it still runs quite smoothly even without it. One thing I also did notice, though, is that under the Sun you can see that fingerprint scanner as a patchy shadow on your screen and that's definitely a bit weird. The fingerprint scanner is of the optical kind, and it works fast and accurate most of the time.

It's not quite perfect, and I did get a few failed readings from time to time. Under the hood, however, the Poco f2 Pro makes no compromises powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 86 v chip, this $500 phone has as much firepower, is false, double and even more its price there's also a vapor chamber inside the phone to cool it and that definitely shows, as the phone hardly gets hot, even while playing heavy 3d games. The only time I felt the Poco warm up significantly was during charging with the supplied, 30 watt fast charger. The device is available in two configurations, since gigabytes of RAM and a hundred and twenty gigs of storage or eight gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigs of storage. Now there is no micros card slot on board on either of them as to battery life.

You have a 4700 William hour battery cell that provides excellent endurance. It wasn't that good, the first two days while the phone was still settling with my accounts and data, but after a few recharges, the battery life was more than excellent. It's truly a two-day battery, and I've been regularly hitting around 8 hours of screen on time with all the bells and whistles enabled, including the always-on display on your screen right you're, seeing how the Poco performs in our various battery tests that we run here at phone arena. Furthermore, it beats the records for YouTube, video, playback and 3d gaming. Furthermore, it's definitely a battery champ in many ways.

Another spectacular aspect of the Poco f2 Pro is the ultra-fast charging speed. The 30 watt in box charger can fully top up the phone in just 63 minutes, which is quite spectacular, given this large battery inside it. As for software, you get GUI. This custom interface is a far cry from stock Android offering a lot of added features, but it does take some getting used to. It also looks a bit dated to be honest, but the biggest issue with it and with all Xiaomi phones is the way they handle.

Notifications, notifications from certain apps simply wouldn't show on the lock screen at all, despite explicitly trying to enforce that in the settings menu they do appear once you unlock the phone and pull the notification shade, but you might not even know you got a notification if you just look at the lock screen- and this is definitely my biggest annoyance with this phone. As for the cameras, the Poco f2 pro has four of them. On the back in this interesting X style pattern, you have a 64 megapixel main camera, a 5 megapixel nearly two times: zoom telephoto 13, megapixel, ultra-wide camera and 2 megapixel depth sensor, while the pop-up selfie camera shoots, 20 megapixel photos the images you capture, look great. You get 16 megapixel snaps by default from the main camera, as it combines 4 pixels into one, and you get a rich image with high dynamic range in lots of detail. Colors, look vibrant by default, even a bit too saturated, and when the lights go down, the Poco f2 pro generally does a good job too.

You have a dedicated night mode for those nearly pitch black conditions, and that does bring a ton of light, but it also over sharpens the photo to months, so you might not want to use it every time, plus it's a bit slow. Now here are a few more shots, some imported mode and a few selfies. The selfies particularly look great. Even in harsh light, you get nice colors and a pleasing image. The Poco also prides itself as one of the first devices to offer a Tell macro camera mode.

This means it lets you zoom up to two times in macro mode, which gives you some extra reach when shooting macro photos. However, as with all macro modes, the focus plane is quite thin and you more than likely to end up with a blurred image. So you have to hold the phone extra steady. Yet when you do nail the focus you can get some pretty neat pictures on the video side. The Poco I have two Pro can shoot up to 8k video at 30 frames per second, and that's really impressive.

On paper, because EK videos look crispy clear with a ton of detail, but this is not something we recommend you use for everyday videos as 8k footage takes a ton of space, and you don't have stabilization, so it looks jittery, but for those special moments travel to a special destination, for example, it's definitely nice to have this option and to create something. Truly cinematic 4k, on the other hand, comes with good detail, also stabilization, less rolling shutter and smaller file sizes than 8k and there's even a separate, steady video mode which limits the resolution to 1080p but employs an even steadier stabilization suitable for action videos. Finally, there's a need blog video mode which lets you choose among various presets and quickly create an intro for your vlog straight on. The phone Poco has really paid attention to the video experience, so there you have it the Poco f2 pro a phone with top-notch performance, great, very affordable, $500 price, good, looking screen and a nice camera package. There are two big issues: the broken lock screen notifications and just how big and bulky this phone is, which might be a turn-off for some.
