Pixel 3 Review: 1 Month Later - Almost Perfect!

So this is the Google Pixel 3, and it's got a not-so-great image because of the notch on its bigger brother, the pixel 3xl, like this phone, is seriously good its blow me away in pretty much every category, but because of all the criticisms about the Excel and because the Excel has been reviewed more than the standard three I feel like people have kind of forgotten about the pixel of three. So here's my review on what I consider to be the best Android phone out right now, tied with the galaxy s, 9, ok, so immediately. The first thing that stood out to me was how nice this phone feels how drippy it is on all sides and how dramatic of an improvement it is from the pixel to the frame. Has this glossy finish on it, which really helps with the grip, but the back is kind of wack. So this soft touch finish on top of the glass I'm, not really a big fan of it. It scratches really easily like much easier than you'd expect, and it's not quite as drippy as the bear glass on the top I feel like.

If Google made the back just complete naked glass, it would make this one of the nicest phones to hold in the hand not that it doesn't feel nice. The texture is really soft and smooth, but it loses a little of grip there, so just a little of nitpicking. Otherwise, it's got a really nice design. The back doesn't feel like cheap plastic. The corners are more rounded, so it doesn't dig into your hand and the buttons are very click and tactile.

The screen is perfect. This time around, which actually kind of surprised me, because the screen on the pixel 3 is actually made by LG, not Samsung, it gets very bright. Colors are great, there's no blue shift or any weird color issues, and if it didn't Google it I probably would have believed that this was a Samsung panel. There's really nothing wrong with it, so it gets a solid nine point. Five out of 10.

The speakers, on the other hand, are a little wonky. They sound good, but a couple of things are keeping it from being great sounding speakers. First, the bottom speaker is somehow noticeably louder than the top speaker and I initially thought that this was limited to the three XL, because the earpiece is much smaller, but it's very noticeable on the smaller three as well I'm, assuming that it can be fixed via software, and it's not a huge deal like it's, not a deal-breaker, but the imbalance isn't ideal, and the second is a little harder to explain. But even though the base is much better now, it still sounds a bit flat to me: vocals sound, a bit masked and quiet and when I pushed it with max volume, lossless audio, it sounds like it's distorting a bit, and it's not quite as clear and punchy as the iPhone 10. Here's a comparison, so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about the performance on this phone is great, but the hardware feels a bit lacking to me not from my use case, but I think they should give more options to people that are willing to pay more for better hardware.

So this phone packs, a Snapdragon 45 with four gigs of RAM and either 64 or 128 gigs of storage, pretty standard in basic stuff, Snapdragon 845 runs really fast, with stock Android, and I'm kind of hovering around three gigs of RAM use. So the four gigs has been fine for me so far, but my usage has always been pretty lightweight, so I'm not really pushing anything and 64. Gig has always been more than enough for me, but there are definitely people out there who want six or eight gigs of RAM, because they're pushing the phone's harder and also want 256 or maybe 512 gigs of storage, maybe because a reception in their area is poor, so they prefer offline storage regardless their hardware options are pretty limited right now, I've seen some people complain about apps reloading in the background. So if you're, a heavy user, you might want to consider some other phones like the OnePlus 60. One thing that really stood out to me was the vibration.

Motor they've really improved it this year, and it feels much closer to the iPhones tactic engine. As for Android 9, they definitely need to polish up the gestures, because right now they feel really unintuitive and unnatural. To use battery life on the pixel.3 is also pretty good, like if you're a heavy user, you should probably get the pixel 3 XL or a different phone. Maybe the note 9, but this gets me through a full day of light use with high brightness about the same as my iPhone 10, so nothing too crazy, roughly 8 hours of usage. It also supports fast charging and faster wireless charging.

But as of right now, only the pixel stand will support fast wireless charging. The camera is well, it's a pixel phone, so it's single-handedly the best photography camera on any smartphone. Now regular photos like photos. Are you taking Dale? It will look about the same as every other flagship I'll trade blows with the iPhone 10s and the Galaxy Note.9 HDR colors, dynamic range they're, all above the same, the real game-changer with the pixel 3 is nitrite and even though it's still not public. Yet you can download the beta APK to try out the feature, and it is mind-blowing.

This essentially does long-exposure without the need for a tripod, and it somehow keeps all the color saturated there's not that much noise and retains a surprising amount of detail. Even in pitch-black night shots like low-light photography is one of the biggest weaknesses of a smartphone camera and this pretty much just killed it. The video, on the other hand, is rather poor, not just the lack of 4k 60fps like that's, not too big of a deal, but the colors just seem washed out and the audio from it is pretty bad, and it's just not a good time with this phone. So I guess it really just comes down to whether you value photography or videography, because this thing takes amazing photos. But it's a little lacking in the video Department, so here's who I think should buy the pixel three if you're looking for a phone with stock Android- and you want a great camera, and you don't want it to make any sacrifices anywhere else like with the speakers, the screen, the battery life and charging etc.

Then I think you'll, like this phone, like good speakers, are nothing without a nice screen and the pixel three is doing one of the best jobs at having everything be at the very least: good, Hardware, all-around, lightweight stock Android, quick software updates. It pulls everything together nicely and that makes the pixel 3 one of the nicest phones that I've used in a long time. So it gets my recommendation so that wraps up the end of this review, I hope you guys enjoyed it and I will see you guys next time.
