Pixel 2 XL Unboxing & 24-Hour Review! [Black & White]

I like how they paid attention to detail, it even has a silver G, spa hi, guys Maxim on Android comm, where we get on Android every single day. Alright, so I actually order pixel to excel on day one just as they announced it actually went to the website as soon as it was up. I ordered pixel to excel. Now, for those of you who ordered all black, you got it right away. People like me, it started shipping like two days ago, so I just got it. I know: Tim Schofield, QB, King 77 just got it um, but this is the black and white version, and hopefully it won't have all the problems that's been floating on the web, such as the blue, tint and whatnot um.

Honestly, I really don't care, but let's go ahead and unbox this bad boy. Why you'll see team picks soul in red instead of the green, and we saw with the regular pixel 2 and let me go ahead and unbox this bad boy boom Shakalaka um. So let me get the phone out that now this I really like it's got a curved screen. It's got white on the back and also black on the front. You could actually see the white, which is really nice, I, didn't know this was gonna, be like this, but I really liked it.

I should have a like an old note before that looks like this nice, black and white. Let me give you a close-up. Real, quick, actually, really dig this design a little touch of orange button. There is nice for the power fingerprint I need the black really contrast. Well with the whites.

It's a black and white phone all right. The orange power button is really nice, looking all volume buttons there and white, and you got just type C. Of course you are missing a headphone jack, so this may not be the phone for you. If you absolutely need the headphone jack on the left, it's spotless. It's just got a SIM card tray.

Alright, I, don't think there is a micro SD card. The regular pixel 2 didn't have a micro SD card, yeah no micros card. Unfortunately, now it does come with free cloud storage for all of your photos in the original resolution and even 4k videos, so I, don't think storage will be a huge problem unless your Wi-Fi is super slow. Alright, it's got a microphone on top. That is pretty much it, but it's a rather thin looking phone, we go ahead and compare it with the regular pixel I think it is actually thinner.

It is slightly thinner than the regular pixel, but it is bigger. Now let me go ahead and power it up for you guys all right powering up nicely the size of the phone. How big is the screen? Look at that, so it's a much, much bigger phone, yet it doesn't feel that much bigger I think it's because of the blocky design of the regular pixel, two versus very slim and the curvy design of the pixel to excel I. Really like it now I'm wondering how big is compared to the LGA 30. It is actually exactly the same size if I line up the top and bottom pretty much matching.

Also, the length is matching. The phone itself is a little taller, a little more bezels on both top and the sides, so this is gonna, be very good size, um, pretty much size of LAB 30, but slightly bigger I'm, just due to the bezels but screen looking nice I, really like it, I really like the size of it because I'm a phablet lover. Let me go ahead and sign in now, while that's signing in. Let me see if the blue thing really effects so, basically looking at it straight, you won't, you'll, see white as soon as you go about five or seven degrees. You start to get a little blue.

If you go to like twenty-five degrees, it starts getting more blue and all of you see it around 45 or more there's going to be more blue, but I, don't think it's a huge problem, but yeah I mean, if you don't look at it right on. It's going to give you a little blue bluish hue. Now the update is supposed to fix some of that. So let me go ahead and update my phone. Also.

You know what this is still updating. So, let's go ahead and check out what's in the rest of the box, I'm! Actually not going to go through. What's everything in the box is probably identical to the regular pixel yeah, you know what I'm actually not going to go through this there's, basically USB cable adapter and the OTG adapter, it's exactly identical to the pixel to Island box. If you want to see that go ahead and watch my pixel two unboxing I, don't want to waste your time here. All right got it sign here.

I'm, actually, gonna at this point, go and try this for the next 12 hours. That way, I can give you a quick thoughts on it. So I'll be right back in about 12 hours. Okay, so I actually ended up using it for the last full 24 hours um. So let me just go ahead and give you a mini review based on 24 hours, also since I've been using the pixel 2.

As far as the camera goes, I know how it works, how I mean it's nearly identical to pixel -? Alright, first, let me go ahead and talk about the feel. It feels really, really good. One thing I really like is that it is really thin. I did get a bunch of cases from sign and I like to use their thin, transparent one. Now, even with the case, it feels pretty slim one of the things I really like about the LAB 30, also with a case.

It feels very thin. It is slightly thicker than the LAB 30, but it is a lot thinner than the node 8. So if you don't need the s-pen, but you want the best big phone out this year, I mean this is definitely one of them so in terms of design and feel you're. Gonna really love it. Also, if you're going to use your phone, make it the matte finish here doesn't pick up any fingerprints.

However, on top part, it may pick up fingerprints, but since you hold your phone down here, most of the time you're not gonna, hold it like this I. Don't see that as a huge problem for using your phone naked, there is obviously always on display that works really well now, I know a lot of you are concerned about the blue tint. Now that happens actually just even 5 degrees, you'll get a slight blue tint I. Don't think you see that on camera as soon as you go more, you start getting more and more blues this. This is that directly, and I'm going to go and turn it five degrees, and you can see it's starting to turn bluish at about 45 degrees.

Angle, you'll, get a lot more blue I think this is blown out of proportion. I, don't think you should even pay attention to it, because obviously you're not going to use your phone like this or like this you're going to use it head-on, like this 9 out of 10 people will not notice the difference, unless maybe you use your phone to watch movies, a with a friend or something or your girlfriends, and they're, watching it from a slight angle. That could be a problem. Even with the blue tint I mean the images, don't look too bad. Let me actually just go ahead and play this video I made yesterday, so you guys can actually see if I was watching this and watching at an angle.

It's going to turn a little blue, but it's not, so it's gonna drastically affect your viewing experience. So really I really wouldn't worry about it. Um the actually, if you compare it with the LGA 30 they're, actually nearly identical screens, the LGA 30 does it also, but not as much as the pixel to excel it's simply blown out of proportion and I. Don't know why LGA 30 didn't get all that attention, so I think it could be. Maybe Apple is just trying to bring down Google by spreading rumors.

Oh, and also there is a pop-up. Now you can do a pop-up with Google, which is really cool. All right. You get a little flip out screen, that's from Google Oreo Android auto, so everybody who upgrades the software will also be able to get this. That's quite cool right.

Camera is just awesome. Awesome on this device. If you're new to my channel check out all the tests, I did with the pixel 2 versus B 30 and the new, a portrait mode is probably the best on this phone um. This was actually taken in my bedroom in very, very low light. My bedroom is pretty dark.

Um you'll see a lot of noise there, but with portrait mode you can simply blur all that noise out, and it almost makes it look like a film brain um, so that really cuts out the noise. While my ROG is in very good focus with no noise, so portrait mode can potentially make unusable, noisy photos into a very awesome photo. Of course, front. Portraits are just simply awesome, especially in low-light. It works really well just because the background is dark, and it really brings out the face.

Also, 4k videos, I mean I've, been using the pixel 2 for almost two weeks now and stabilization on. The video is awesome, which is identical to the pixel to excel definitely check out the pixel to cinematic video I posted the other day. Also, that's going to help. You got the live wallpapers with the thing moving in the background. That's really nice.

Oh, yeah speakers are really, really loud. This is probably the loudest speakers. Also, stereo speakers. Also. The speakers are actually louder than the regular pixel too.

So the pixel 2xl you're going to be able to get that sound. Alright performance issues, you're, probably not gonna, have any Snapdragon 85. Everything is smooth running stock Android. And if you don't like this, you can also route it install custom, ROMs and Google does not penalize. You do not void warranty by rooting, your phone, so that's another great option.

Of course, Google Assistant by squeezing I haven't really used it much, but I'm probably gonna start using it more often it's a perfect thing that Google has their own phone, and they're, making the Google Home Mini, which I'm going to unbox. Probably tomorrow, alright, you know, with Google devices you're going to be able to get that perfect Google home automation, experience alright. If you have Google home stuff, it's gonna work out really well, because Google assistants everywhere I mean I, got the note 8 with the Bixby button that I never ever use sort of useless, whereas Google Assistant is already linked up to my nest. I can already control my home with Google Systems. Half of my lights can be controlled via voice in my house, which is really cool via Google assistance, I'm.

So a lot of cool things with the Google phone and I think I'm just really actually glad they went with these routes. It is a deathly, perfect phone for all your Google gangsters and Google, but yeah I, really like it I, really like the LGA 30. This is very similar to LAB 30, also since LG mated, but the software is running Google, which is really nice. So for those who don't like LG, UI you're going to love the Google. You are how smooth it is, how you're going to be able to update on your Android to the latest as soon as it comes out, which is really nice I like how they paid attention to detail.

It even has a silver G spawn. It's got a g-spot yeah right there, hey I, think this is the most beautifully designed Google phone I actually didn't like the two-layer, but once seeing the black and white version I really liked it now. I think this contrasts really well makes a phone all the good. So I really love this phone. I know some of you are torn between, like the latest no dates, maybe iPhone X all and the pixel XL.

If you want the pure Google experience along with excellence, one of the best cameras with the best portrait mode, I'm, also very good stabilization with the video camera I mean you just simply can't go wrong with this awful review after I use it a little more, but for right now it's definitely a go. This is definitely gonna, be one of my favorite phones to use along with my V 30, and the note 8 also have some comparisons between this phone and other phones I'm just talking about it. That's coming up soon to all, but for right. Now, I really really really like this, especially the colors on this I think it makes sense yeah if you're going to get the XL, definitely check out the black and white version and this one's not races, because it's not black or white, it's black and white. It's Asian, alright I think I've ended there.

It's getting kinda late here. Oh, one thing: I forgot battery life um for the last 24 hours, I was able to get a pretty much full day. I think battery life is comparable to the no date. I would say, maybe a little more, and you should get more battery life on. If you don't use your phone, if it's on standby, longer I'm due to the Oreo, if you don't mind the blue, tint I think you should be just fine, and it doesn't bother me at all I, don't even notice it anyway.

If you enjoyed this unboxing and mini review, don't forget to hit the thumbs up for me and subscribe for more stuff like this, and I'll, see you guys on the next one as always stay.
