OPPO A93 Unboxing & In-Depth Hands On: Pretty Decent Mid-Range! By Lim Reviews

Hey guys welcome back to another video with LIM reviews in today's video, we'll be checking out a very simple device here. This is the Oppo a93 that was sent over by Oppo and yeah. I'm just going to go through a quick unboxing with this video uh. Of course, you can see the device is already on my table right now, but I'm going to show you what came in the box like what to expect from this device. So just a quick introduction, the Oppo 93 was just launched here in Malaysia for 1299 ringgits. So of course, if you're watching this from a different country, the pricing will be different but yeah.

So the device that I have here today is actually the black version. They call it the matte black version and yeah. So basically, I did a very quick unboxing of this Oppo a93. What came in the box was actually a very standard set of stuff, so obviously we do have the Oppo a93 itself. It also comes with a huge charger in the box.

This is an 18 watt charger. Apart from that, we also get the USB type-c, cable and, last but not least, we also get a pair of earphones in the box. So what this means is uh. We still have our 3.5 millimeter headphone jack on the Oppo a93 all right. So let's just take a quick look at the back of the box.

Usually we have some special features here that the company wants to highlight and yeah we do have a dual punch hole super AMOLED display. We also have six AI portrait cameras on the a93 yep six cameras. Obviously we also have the in display fingerprint scanner. This is the version 3.0 and yeah Oppo 893 is supposed to be one of the lightest and sleekest device. It's just 7.48 millimeters thick all right now that we've got the box out of the way, let's focus on the device itself. So this is the Oppo a93 guys when I first got this out of box.

The first impressions that I got was it's a really light device, so it feels really lightweight. I'm definitely not a bad thing here, because this is actually a pretty large device. Apart from that, yes, we do get this very nice matte black on the back here, which I really like. I like the way it is also like you know, shifts colors a little. It's supposed to be gray, but I don't under certain circumstances.

It does look a little bluish, but yeah, it's gray, okay, so we also have this very nice design at the back here for the cameras, there is not much of a camera cut out here. Basically, it's just the lens that sits a bit out on the device itself, but overall, I think this is a very clean nice minimalist design that I really like. So one thing I need to mention the matte back here is, although it prevents our fingerprints from getting stick onto the phone itself, but it is actually super slippery like whenever I hold this device without the case on it, tends to just slip out of my hands, and it's a very slippery device, so yeah yeah, please use the case that came in the box if you're, that kind of person who always drops your phone, okay, so flipping the device to the front. Here we do see that we have this in display fingerprint scanner 3.0 and in these days, where we're always wearing a mask, I think it makes perfect sense to have this uh under screen under display kind of fingerprint scanner, so how it works is fairly simple. All I need to do is uh.

You know yeah just like that, so it is pretty quick. Let me just show it to you guys once more. So, let's get on to that and there we go, so it does come with a little tiny animation at the bottom. Just like you get on other devices, let's show it to you one final time and yeah fairly, quick, very uh, very reliable on the Oppo a93. So apart from that, like I said now, we do get a tiny cut out notch at the top, which is very clean once again, a tiny notch in the top left corner, and I like this design.

We also have a very nice 6.43 inch super AMOLED display here on the Oppo a93. So for a device coming at this price, I would say: either you get a high refresh rate lcd or either you get like a standard 60hz display with super AMOLED, and in this case the super AMOLED display is very, very, very nice, like we have very nice colors. The contrast levels is also great and of course we do. We are able to get to very bright levels on the Oppo a93, so display wise, definitely very happy with that here. So, overall, the entire build quality of this device.

The open a93, is definitely something to applaud here with from OPPO. I'm definitely very happy with how the device feels overall all right. So I just want to talk about. What's powering this device in here we have a hello p95, coupled with 8 gigabytes of ram, so naturally I went and downloaded the geek bench, and this is what it scored. Let me just show you very quickly the history right here, and you can see that for single car it got 403 points, whereas for multi-core it got 1517.

So in case you're wondering what kind of figures these are so basically, like. I said this is the hello p95, but its performance is very similar to what you'd get from the snapdragon 712. So if you are typically like used to the Qualcomm snapdragon devices, uh yeah, the performance is similar to the 712, and that means that obviously uh daily use on this device is very going to be very smooth. There shouldn't be any issues with just launching apps and all that you know uh, the typical stuff like you would expect from any device. Yeah, is also here so very smooth, like I said in terms of gaming, once again, you can't like you know, really go all the way to maximum gaming settings, but it will run pretty fine with just medium settings so overall performance there.

I expect this to be your typical mid-range device. Alright. So now, let's talk a bit about the camera, so at the back we have four cameras and at the front we have two. So Oppo is really advertising this as the phone with six cameras. So we all know that sometimes uh manufacturers tend to like jack up the number of sensors at the back and at the front just for the sake of getting that number higher.

But in the case of the a93, what we have here is a 48 megapixel main sensor. It's a Samsung unit. We also get an 8 megapixel ultra-wide sensor and two dev sensors. So why do we have two dev sensors here uh? I really do not know. Maybe it takes some better depth, sensing um yeah, so it's supposed to take a better portrait image when you need them.

So obviously I did a test to see if it's really working, and I'm not going to comment too much, I'm just going to show you a couple of samples here, so you can judge for yourself on whether the two dev sensors actually makes a difference in terms of taking better portrait images. Alright, so moving on to the front, we do have a 16 megapixel ultra-wide plus 2 megapixel dev sensor. So, first and foremost, you do get quite a lot of yourself in the frame, because this is an ultra-wide sensor and then, when you go to your portrait mode notice that you have this really nice blurred off background, which I absolutely love so very good stuff in terms of the selfie camera. Here, if you're kind of person who likes to take a lot of selfies yeah, you might want to consider this Oppo a93 to boost your selfie game, all right so enough about the cameras uh. Last but not least, I want to talk a little about the battery that comes in this device.

We do have a pretty large, 4 000 William hour battery in here uh. Unfortunately, the charging is just 18 watts, so it's not the fastest, but it is quick enough. I would say that maybe if we had a quicker charger, that would be great but yeah at this price point. You know like 4, 000 William hour with this 18 watt charger. I guess it is what it is right.

So definitely the battery here is enough to last you one day on a full charge, maybe even like one and a half days on a single charge, so that is something to be expected with the Oppo a93 overall. I think this is a pretty uh decent device. That Oppo is releasing here. Definitely a good update to the Oppo a92. We do get a very nice display at the front, pretty good cameras at the front as well, especially the selfie cameras regarding the main camera at the back, like I said I'll, show you guys the samples for you to judge whether it's good or not, and last but not least, a pretty decent battery overall, pretty nice package.
