ONEPLUS 8 REVIEW: I CHANGED MY MIND!!

I hope that you liked the intro or rather loved the intro. Let me know what's better the intro or chai or watching the intro, while drinking chai. I would definitely pick the third option watching the intro, while drinking a cup of chai. Yes, hey guys harsh here and welcome back to technology. This is the OnePlus 8. Before we move forward.

This cover is perfect. It's the OnePlus sandstone cover in this. You know teal color. I will make sure to drop a link to it in the description box below now I have been using the OnePlus 8 for about three to four weeks now and my mind about this phone has changed so before using this phone. Just by looking at it on paper, I was frankly disappointed with the OnePlus 8.

It did not look that good, especially considering that you can get an OnePlus 7t for 35 000 rupees. So because of that I was not that excited about OnePlus 8, but I'm glad that OnePlus sent out this product for me to review, because, yes, after using the phone my mind, has changed. So I'm sorry for the early judgments. It's my fault: I judge the OnePlus 8 before using it, and yes, that is my fault, but anyway, now that I've used the OnePlus 8 for quite some time. I can give you my full review about it and spoiler alert.

I love this phone. Let's start by talking about that. Beautiful display, OnePlus 8 comes with a 6.55 inches full HD, plus super AMOLED display with a 90 hertz refresh rate. As I said in my impressions video, this is the right combination. OnePlus 8 pro pushes the display to its limits, and maybe that's why it has so many issues with green tint hole, punch, banding, black crush, etc.

FYI. All those issues are not present on the OnePlus 8. Oneplus, 8th display is excellent. Things like watching movies and TV shows on Netflix or watching videos on YouTube scrolling through Instagram or just navigating through the UI, are very immersive and good. Because of that display.

I cannot stress how much I love the display on the OnePlus 8. It is definitely one of the best out there. Now the display is also slightly curved on the edges. It's not a big curve. That's why I don't mind it because I never had any accidental touches, so this curve is okay anyway enough about the display moving on.

Let's talk about the design and build quality as soon as I unbox the OnePlus 8, I instantly realized that the design is different from OnePlus, 7 and 70. In terms of design. It is a major upgrade in the sense that it feels more premium now and the build quality feels more sturdy like it feels a solid premium smartphone. It does not feel bulky in the hand. Furthermore, it's slim, and the overall experience is just perfect.

Also, I love this color. It makes for some perfect b-roll and photos like the way it reflects. Light is just beautiful. OnePlus 8 does come with a glass back panel, but it does not come with wireless charging. So that's the thing that I miss on this phone wireless charging should have been there on the OnePlus 8.

They gave it on the OnePlus 8 pro, but it does not make sense to remove it from the OnePlus 8. If wireless charging had been there, I would be very happy all right now, it's time to talk about the best thing about this phone, and that is the performance. OnePlus 8 is a beast when it comes to performance, snapdragon, 865, up to 12 GB of ram up to 256gb of UFS, 3.0 storage, a 4300 William hour battery and support for 30 watt fast charging. Now, on top of all this, it comes with oxygen OS, which is like the cherry on the cake, and it ties everything together. OnePlus 8 does not drop a sweat, no matter what you're doing on the phone, even if you're playing PUBG on HDR plus extreme, you will be good to go the performance is that good, like it will not have any complaints with the performance.

In fact, I think it's overkill for my use. I do not need that much power in my phone OnePlus 8 comes really close to iPhones, and that is a very big statement over here. I've always been a fan of iPhone's performance and yes, the OnePlus 8 does come close to it. Now, if you ask me the difference of performance between OnePlus, word and OnePlus 8, then there's a significant difference, and it is noticeable OnePlus not is noticeably slower than OnePlus 8. Basic things like app opening times or just swiping through the UI or handling the 90 hertz display.

All those things are definitely better on the OnePlus 8, with the snapdragon 865. Now I know someone out there is going to point out oxygen OS 11. I've already made a video about it and shared all my thoughts about oxygen OS over there. That's why? If you want to know more about this new future update that is coming along, then go ahead and watch that video. It will be linked in the button over here and also in the description box below these gets me to one of the weakest points with the OnePlus 8, and that is them cameras.

So the camera is the only point which feels like a downgrade coming from OnePlus 7t, so OnePlus 7t had a dedicated telephoto camera, and it had support for macro camera with the wide-angle camera itself. But OnePlus 8 has a very weird camera setup. It comes with the same 48, megapixel, Sony, mix, 586 primary camerae, then an ultra-wide angle, camera and then a 2 megapixel, useless macro camera like it does not make sense at all. They should have given a telephoto camera and kept the macro. You know setting with the wide-angle camera.

I don't know why they changed. This does not make sense at all, but anyway, hardware aside, the software is not that good as well. It is very inconsistent in terms of colors and white balance. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad camera, but for this price point we start to expect more from a smartphone in terms of the camera experience so yeah. The camera is definitely the weakest point about the OnePlus 8, but I'm going to say it's not that big a deal for 90 of the people.

You know why, because we anyway edit our photos and then upload them to Instagram, for example, take these photos over here. I shot them on the OnePlus 8 edited them on Lightroom on the OnePlus 8 itself, uploaded them to Instagram and got the highest likes. So as long as the camera takes good photos in terms of exposure and detail level which the OnePlus 8 does, then I don't think it's that big a deal, and you can always install Guam to fix the issues. I've already made a video about that as well. You know the drill I button link in the description box below you can watch that video after this video overall.

What I am trying to say is that the overall package of OnePlus 8 is excellent and that's why you can adjust with the camera all right. So I'm editing the video right now, and I realized that I missed a couple of points. Number one is battery life of OnePlus.8 is decent enough. It will easily get you through the day with 10 to 15 percent battery left, so you can easily use it throughout the day with some juice left at the night, it does come with 30 watt fast charging, and that is helpful. The second point that I missed is the front camera.

How is the selfie performance honestly? I was disappointed with the selfie performance. I did not like the selfies from the OnePlus 8. You will have to use Guam to get better selfies and OnePlus needs to fix their front camera in the next generation like this generation word, as well as OnePlus 8, have awful selfie cameras. Now, it's time to talk about the other things. The in-display fingerprint sensor is excellent, fast, accurate, and it worked like 99 percent of the times, which is excellent.

Also, the support for face unlock, which is stupid fast and every other android OEM, should take notes from OnePlus face unlock. It is stupid fast. Apart from that, there's no headphone jack, which does not make me happy at all. I would have loved to see a headphone jack, or at least a dongle inside the box. There's no dongle as well, which honestly is a bad move.

What about the speakers? I love the speakers on OnePlus 8. They get very loud, and the clarity is also pretty good. So no complaints when it comes to speakers OnePlus, has done a very good job over here now. The OnePlus 8 does not have an official IP rating, but it does have the hardware to prevent it from splashes or using it in the rain. So that is there, but it would have been better if there were an official IP rating, then you can be very sure with your phone while using it in the rain, or something like that, so yeah official IP rating would have been better overall OnePlus 8 is an excellent package, and if you have the budget, then you can definitely go ahead and buy it.

It will last you for three to four years minimum, if not more and with OnePlus track record. You are going to get regular software updates as well. So that is excellent. As I said, you can buy it. If you have the budget anyway, that's been it.
