OnePlus 8 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G (Fan Edition) Speed Test

Hello everyone and welcome back to another speed test video. Before we start, let me have a quick recap of these: two phones, OnePlus 8 pro and the Samsung Galaxy s20 fan edition 5g can be found with very similar price. For example, in Europe, the 8 pro with 8 gigabytes of ram and 128 gigabytes of storage can be found around 700 euros and the fan edition costs around 780 euros, with 6 gigabytes of ram and 128 gigabytes of storage. They both have the snapdragon 865 and should have very similar performance. Some of you may wonder to choose between these two phones. But to be honest, my personal opinion about these two phone is quite clear.8 pro is a better deal. It has a better overall build quality, it looks and feels more premium, and it has a smoother and cleaner user experience.

It also has a faster charging speed and overall you get more for what you spent for the camera. I cannot say which one is better, but I will do a comparison, and then we can check that out. So if you are not a subscriber already make sure you subscribe and don't miss the upcoming videos, one thing you immediately realize when seeing these phones side by side is the display quality. Eight pro's display in terms of sharpness and brightness is just another level compared to the fan edition. If I put these two side by side, you can easily see the difference in the display quality.

So this is my personal opinion about these two phones. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments and I will try to answer them now. Let's start our speed test I'll, do some speed tests for day-to-day applications and then some games after that, we will see how they handle the ram management. We make sure there is no app running in the background, and I should also say that these two phones are connected to the same network. Let's go ahead and start our speed test with download speed test, so the opening of the app was a bit faster on the OnePlus 8 pro now, let's start our download test I'll fast-forward.

This part on s20 we get 135 for download and 122 for upload and on 8 pro 115 for download and 120 for upload. So it was a bit faster on the s20 fan edition. Now, let's go and open the Amazon very similar speed in opening the Amazon. I think it's quite tight this one. Now, let's go and open AliExpress, I think OnePlus 8 pro finished faster with the AliExpress.

Now, let's start YouTube yeah faster on the OnePlus. Let's open a video inside YouTube, you have very similar, so that was quite tight as well. Now, let's go, and open twitter tweeter was a bit faster on the Samsung s20 and Spotify again was a bit faster on the s20. Now, let's open Facebook, Facebook was faster on the OnePlus chrome, a bit faster again on the OnePlus. Now, let's open one link inside chrome, Wikipedia and very similar performance, a bit faster on the OnePlus, I would say now: let's go and open instagram was a bit faster on the s20, now telegram very similar performance on this one.

What's up, it was a bit faster on the OnePlus, and now we go and open some games, so the need for speed was a bit faster on the OnePlus yeah. It is faster on the OnePlus. Now, let's go and open the temple run, so the opening was a bit faster on the s20, but OnePlus finished faster, the loading of the game. Let's try subway surfer, yeah overall, faster on the OnePlus. So it is interesting uh to see that now, let's go and open PUBG, because these two devices have very similar.

I mean the exact same chipset, but you can see that one plus in most of the cases like this one again uh, is performing better. I think that's why? That's, because how OnePlus is optimizing? The software and the hardware they're doing pretty good job in actually making the phone quite smooth and again here, just a bit. OnePlus was faster. Now, let's open NordVPN in this case much, much faster on the OnePlus and Netflix very similar performance, a bit faster on the s20. So overall OnePlus did a better job.

I would say in opening all the apps uh- and I also did this ram management test. I will fast-forward this part, but one thing I realize overall, you can actually uh pay more attention if you want on the video or pause but uh. One thing I realized was that OnePlus had some issues with some applications, so OnePlus had to actually totally reopen and rerun the software and the application, but s20 did a better job. However, it has less ram. So that was quite surprising for me to see that OnePlus didn't do well in the ram management side.

I don't know what's the issue, I actually have this same problem with my uh OnePlus 7t pro when I did another speed test and uh. It seems this is a common issue with OnePlus at the moment, if you have any different experience. Please share that with me. I would like to know about it, but overall uh that was the speediest OnePlus did better in terms of loading and opening the app it was faster, but the s20 was uh handling the ram management much better than the OnePlus, so that was it guys. Thank you for watching, and I'll see you in the next video.
