Official Samsung Rugged Case For Galaxy S20 Ultra Unboxing and Review By Big Unbox

What's up guys welcome to the big on box, where we do that small techie today, I am back with another big on boxing for you for the Samsung Galaxy S, 20 altar, and today we're back with the official rugged protective cover to unbox. Do a quick review as always up throw the link in the video description. If you guys want to check it out pricing on this one's thirty, nine bucks, which has pretty much been the standard price for the rugged official rugged case from Samsung for last couple years now. Is this going to give you the best protection? No, but it's really actually a heavy-duty case. That's in common line with you, a G Letterbox. So this is Samsung as a version of that heavy duty, big boy protection, so we'll check it out to see if you see be a hit or miss for your big boy, s xx, altar.

So it's going to check out the presentation. This is what you're going to get you can see. I got the gray or the black version. They have a gray which I thought. Would it look a little sleeker I think it was out of stock when I bought this one? So it is what it is.

It should look pretty nice with the black and gray TI other, so Samsung logo up top rugged protective cover, and you can see kind of the design of the actual cases up, so we'll get into that once I did the unboxing on the back seam, to tell you the more details about the actual protection, all that good stuff. It looks like there's a kickstand on there, we'll check it out as well. So presentation looks legit, let's go and check it out to see if it's a hit guys pop it like this. Alright guys, let's see what we got here, all right so take out the literature all that good stuff. You got a little of uh I, don't know lots of literature for that.

We'll put that aside, so my first impression: well, the design on the interior they've done a better job with the design on the NT you can see. This is kind of like a soft rubbery material and I like the design quality as well, and you can tell it's going to give you some nice shock absorption all the way around the actual phone itself. So very nice got a little Samsung logo right there, but I think they kind of did one up their game a little for this interior protection. I never used to be this nice, so nice job Samsung for stepping up the game for the actual interior, the phone itself. This is gonna, actually be the glossy look I'm, not a huge fan.

This glossy, it probably will get fingerprinted up, and you can already tell the fingerprints are starting to accumulate just from me unboxing which to me that's a no-go that'll, be one of those things. I'll constantly have to wipe it down, wipe it down like we do, especially with these ridges right here. So I'm wondering if, like food dirt dust will get accumulated in those ridges as well, but the design is definitely unique. It's a little different from some other ones, I, probably again, with the silver version that probably would have been a little better for fingerprints and stuff, like that at least a show so give it that if you guys are looking for a fingerprint magnet, this is probably not the way to go. You can see he's got a kickstand right here, nicely done, tucks away, so I like the actual lushness of the kickstand hides away.

So it's not protruding out making it all wobbly and stuff like that. Camera protection and we'll check that out, because, obviously, with the big camera huh we'll check that out so the hard shell plastic, and then it transitions to the actual bumper, which is actually the rubber material, which is a little different design. So you can see its kind of like a two-part case where it's got the hard shell plastic and the bumper itself. It's like a silicone material, so it doesn't add much grip, but I just may wear a little to give you some grip in time. It doesn't feel too slippery, but decent enough and doesn't act surprisingly, doesn't feel like it's gonna, add too much bulk, but obviously this is a big-boy foam, so this is probably going to be a big enough case anyway.

So that's why but now wipe it down like we do, make it look beautiful there we go. That gray is gorgeous all right. Let's pop it into place like this all right. Look at that, so that what do you think about this I'm, not I'm, not a huge fan of the design. I'm, not gonna, lie about that.

Just the ridges just kind of feel unnatural. It's just unkind of unnecessary I like what I see what they did. There's trying to be a little different, but the design quality to me just not perfect. Indeed, you know you see, look at those finger I'm trying to see if you guys can see that from the glare, but the fingerprints are definitely accumulated all over the place, so you definitely have to wipe it down, wipe it down constantly so kickstand we'll get to this. First, let's pop open the kickstand see how look sturdy perfect.

That's a nice kickstand, nice, no wobble, and then it tucks right away nicely done, so I appreciate that let's check out the camera protection, and they did a nice job with the camera protection. It's not crazy, but look what they did. You got that reinforcement around the camera, so you can see, and then the ridges are self are kind of taller. What they did. You can see you're getting that extra little camera protection around those ridges.

So in a very nice design feature right, there I don't know if they meant to do that begin. Some, that's probably the best angle you can see. The camera is definitely not flush again. Some decent camera protection for a rugged case, which you would expect so nicely done very nicely done. Let's give you guys a look at this one so with the black on black when I say black on black I, say the black back and then the camera black that looks very clean, very nicely done.

It's definitely gonna. Add some bulk to your phone. So I. Don't think this is a thin minimalist case, but then again this is an expensive phone. So if you guys are wanting to try some protection, this may be the way to go and keep the official product.

So, let's check out the lip, because everybody likes a fat lip and I like what they did here. That's some nice lip protection check out that lip up top fat lip on top fat lip on the bottom very nicely done so if you drop it is, hopefully it's going to hit that lip on the top and bottom right there. So they did a perfect job with this. Actually maintaining this a rugged back in the day when they first released this rugged style case, they weren't giving you much rugged protection, but I think over the different variations of phones, they've actually done a little better job, making a rugged case, a very nice job as Samsung. They did right this one speaker, grille cutout, looks clean power, power, buttons, clicking and responsive, but volume up and down click enough, so decently nicely done.

So is this a hit or miss to me? I can't say it's a hit for me personally, but I can see why this is gonna, be a hit for a lot of people, because you are gonna, get some nice big boy protection and if you want an official case, this may be the way to go. It's pricing steep, but it definitely hits all the criteria that I'm looking for in a case you're getting a nice camera protection you're getting some nice lip AJ--. It's got a kickstand its overall bill, quality's, nice very nicely done, so I would say this is probably going to be a hit to me. I won't be rocking this case just because the actual fingerprint magnets, but I will probably say if you guys are gonna, get this one get this in the silver version, where you probably had the less fingerprint magnets, but overall I would say this is probably gonna, be a hit for most people looking for some big boy protection and a cost is probably on par with most Letterbox cases or UAG. So we'll give them that, so they did a better job.
