Motorola Edge vs Samsung Galaxy S10e - Speed Comparison

Hey guys and gals Danny boy here, and today I want to do a comparison, video I got the Motorola edge and the Galaxy S10e. I'm going to match these two phones up and see what we got going on here now right now, we're getting into the latter part of summer 2020 and basically uh the Motorola edge. Just came out not too long ago, and the price on this currently is 699 bucks and the Galaxy S10e. You know it's been out for a while now over a year and the current price on it from Samsung is 599 bucks so about a hundred dollar difference here, with the Motorola edge being 100 bucks more. But what I want to do in this video is kind of uh, discuss the speed on these phones and what my experience has been in using them, and we can do a speed test toward the end of the video and just a basic one and kind of see how they stack up uh, so um, basically uh. What we got going on here is the Motorola edge.

Has the new uh upper mid-range processor, the snapdragon 765 g, processor and uh. You know that would be considered upper mid-range, and it does have 5g capabilities. Obviously that's one of the highlights of this phone. Okay. Now the Galaxy S10e has last year's 2019's flagship processor, the snapdragon 855, okay.

So that's what we got going on in the Galaxy S10e now, obviously, the Galaxy S10e here has 4g capabilities, which is still very fast so, but the 5g is obviously a tremendously amount faster as far as your internet downloads and then even uploads, so that's kind of where you stand uh with the processors of these phones um. So, basically, if I unlock the phone here, this phone- and I have nova launcher installed here- this phone feels really fast um. For the sake of the video, I can switch it back to the main uh okay, so I have to switch back here to the main launcher that comes on the phone. Okay and the speed on this phone is really fast here guys. I really uh feel very uh good about the speed on this phone and navigation is really fast, no complaints here at all, you know.

If I had to guess, I would definitely guess it to be uh, you know an 800 series, processor somewhere, so definitely feels fast. Now you do have 90 hertz on this display, which will obviously make it feel even faster when you're scrolling and whatnot. I believe I currently have 90 hertz turned off here. Let me take a look here: um yeah. I got it on 60 hertz there.

So that's where we're standing here now, just for the sake of this video, I will go ahead. I guess and bump it up to 90 hertz and that's simply because that probably will be how more people want to use this phone. Since you do have the option here, but you can see here it does butter things up even more okay, now, obviously this last year, uh Galaxy S10e phone does not have 90 hertz it's 60 hertz, but it still feels really fast um. You know, snapdragon 855 is a really fast processor. I would say you know between both of these phones, just navigation and feel wise.

I would say the s10e definitely feels faster here um. You know this phone here would probably be more equivalent to maybe a snapdragon 845 or maybe even an 840 if one even existed somewhere in there. That's kind of what we're feeling like, I think, speed wise over here uh, but this phone here, the s10 because of the snapdragon 855, definitely feels lightning fast here um, so you know that's kind of where we're standing uh here with the processors. Okay. So one thing to note here with the snapdragon 765 g, I did have an issue um where, when the phone is on 90 hertz, it doesn't feel quite as fast, and I don't know if that's because the graphics heart processor is being used harder or what's going on there, but I have noticed that with this phone, if you bump it down to 60 hertz, it does tend to feel faster, even though the scrolling feels smoother on 90 hertz.

The overall experience of using the phone does feel a little faster when it's on 60 hertz. But that being said, I'm going to leave it on 90, because that's what most people are probably going to have it on here and since that's its maximum capability, as you can see, we got no apps open here on the Galaxy S10e and I will close out what I had open there. Okay, all right! So let's go ahead and launch some apps and see kind of where we're standing here we can start with Firefox focus. Let me pull that up here. Okay, you definitely could see the s10e.

There add that one uh, let's do Wikipedia definitely the s10e there. Okay, let's do the play store. Definitely the s10e um do dictionary. S10E there again um, let's see, do the white noise app okay, that was a little closer, but the s10e won that um anything else. We'll do IMDB pretty close, but I think the s10e there- okay, so you guys can kind of see what's going on here, they're pretty close, but definitely have an advantage here, uh with the s10e, the snapdragon 855 versus the 765g, okay guys.

So let's go ahead and check the uh background. Uh. You know apps here and see how everything stayed as far as ram management goes, so couldn't really tell anything there with Firefox focus, because I didn't have any page loaded. Okay, that one stayed okay in the memory and play store. Okay, looked good, the dictionary okay, I don't think we got a refresh there.

Let's do IMDB here, okay, so I don't think we got a refresh on either one of those. So you know that's kind of what we're dealing with here. Guys uh ram management is perfect uh. Definitely I don't have a problem there. I'm trying to remember, I think the Motorola edge here maybe has six gigs of ram, I want to say- and the s10e maybe four gigs of ram, but both seem to be perfectly fine as far as ram management goes no obvious problems here, but you know um.

Basically, here guys, we've got two uh fast feeling. Phones, I mean. Obviously the snapdragon 855 is going to be the snapdragon 765 g. There's just no way around that, but both are feel very fast, and I think, unless you're doing like heavy exports or heavy stuff on your phone you're going to be perfectly fine with either choice here, if you are doing heavy stuff, you're, probably going to want the snapdragon 855 you're just going to want that more horsepower. There um, but you know, as far as just basic daily normal operations, I think either.

One of these are fine and obviously, if you want the 90 hertz feeling display uh, that would be found here on the Motorola edge, so guys um yeah, that's kind of what we got going on here. This is the speed test comparison between the Motorola edge and the Samsung Galaxy s10e. As always, if you're enjoying my videos, be sure to subscribe to my channel and, of course, hitting that thumbs up button, there helps as well, but for now guys peace out.
