Living With The Samsung Galaxy A20!

What's going on it's Jacqueline here, welcome back to another video. A lot of you've been asking for a more budget phone coverage, so a hundred and seventy dollars less than my bank account, and I'm ready to deliver on that. Here's. My review of the Samsung Galaxy a 20, the good, the bad, and, if you should buy it, let's do it are so the phone starts out with a promising build that actually feels perfect in the hand the back looks like it's glass, but it's actually made of a polycarbonate, and I'm. Definitely in the minority, with this opinion among reviewers, but I actually think that the coating is pretty promising in terms of like delivering that glass like feel and just like glass, it picks up so many fingerprints and this darker color definitely doesn't know favors. You could see a million fingerprints on it, and it's also extremely slippery.

So, while scripting out this video I had this phone on the couch next to me and I kept sliding off when it's in your hand, though, and not making every surface, feel like a slip and slide feels perfect. It's a six point four display, but something about the form factor and the width makes it really comfortable in one hand and the curves on the back, also make it feel like a really thin phone. The form factor feels really well-thought-out. I cannot say that about the sensors and the buttons, though the volume rockers and the power button are in like the worst location ever. Not only are they too high up on the phone, but they're also on the same side, the one thing that I really don't like that manufacturers are doing more and more is putting the volume rocker and the power button on the same side.

I, don't really understand it, because the left side is totally empty, and it just makes it a lot harder to figure out which button you're pressing, especially because there's no difference in texture in between the two buttons terms of ergonomics. The fingerprint sensor is also not in a good place. It's really high up on the phone, so you're going to have, to always like to show me the phone up and down when you're trying to get to either the power button or the fingerprint sensor. It almost feels like the entire product design team had like giant hand-sized hands and they never product tested it with people that have like average sized hands. So it's just like not comfortable.

It's manageable, but you're always going to have to move the phone up and down and for a phone that feels really one handable. It's ruined by the fact that the sensors and the buttons are not in terms of the actual finger per sensor, though it's adequate, it's a little slow and not really that predictable. The second I set it up. It was telling me that it didn't have a match to my finger, and it took several tries to get past that, so it you a biotech way of getting into the phone, but it's not like the best or the fastest same thing with like the face unlock, it could be tricked by a picture. So it's probably not something that you want to do.

If you store like really important things on your phone, all right, we're at the part of the review, where I got a reframe it a little, so I just want you to know that I'm not coming into this review and the smartphone thinking that it's going to be perfect. Like my expectations, aren't perfection went even flagship phones that cost significantly more aren't perfect, but I feel like critiquing the phone in the way that I am is really important because I want you to be informed about, what's good about it and what's not because if one of the things that I say dynamite expecting to be perfect, really matters to you, I think you should know so just know. I'm not expecting perfection I just want to paint an entire picture for you, but let's get back to the build. So this phone is a pretty interesting speaker setup, because it's a down firing speaker, which is really loud, but really not that clear, and it's easily covered. It kind of has the same issues that some flex sheets had a couple of years ago for like when you're playing a game or watching a video, your hand naturally just covers the speaker and then the audio sounds a lot lower and much more muffled and kind of to begin with.

The audio is really not that clear. This speaker, just kind of adds a little of distance to the audio that you're listening to so when I'm watching the video on YouTube, the sound quality like almost makes the video sound like it a bad audio quality, and it makes it a little annoying to listen to for an extended period of time. Music sounds fine, and it's not like you're extremely crisp, but you can definitely like to make out what's going on if you're kind of bummed about that news, there's an alternative here. It has a headphone jack. Are you shocked? Yeah, me too I'm really psyched to see it.

A lot of phones are getting rid of it, and it's really nice that this budget option still has it. The only other port on this phone aside from the headphone jack, is a USB type-c, port, and I'm, so glad that Samsung is implementing that technology on a more budget phone. A lot of like the cheaper tech does not have it. Looking at you Bluetooth speaker that only asked microUSB I would love everything just to have Universal a USB type-c. So it's really awesome that this phone has USB type-c and not only does it have USB type-c, but it also has a 15 watt wired fast charging, which is great and will actually make a difference on your everyday usage with this phone, and it has a four thousand William hour all-day battery to accompany that.

That's also great. So the battery life is pretty good, but the display is definitely the centerpiece of this phone. It's a Super AMOLED display, that's not only extremely bright viewable outdoors for sure, but it also has vibrancy that only Samsung Canal at this price point. The resolution is not amazing, but it's also not extremely low. However, since the screen is 6.4 inches, the PPI is kind of low at 286. So nothing really looks like that.

Sharp from a reasonable distance away, it actually looks pretty good, but when you're looking at a video or text really close up, you could definitely see that it's not like a crystal-clear display and then there's performance and their performance is okay. I'm going to give you a quick spec rundown, because I know some of you are gonna, want that, but know that I don't really use specs as indication of how good a phone is. Going to be I, rely on like actual real-world use, but specs. It has three gigabytes of RAM, which is a respectable number, but in practice I found that apps will crash. If I try to do too many things at once, and the processor is a Snapdragon 450 processor clocked at 1.8 gigahertz, which is definitely on the slower side. Everything takes a beat, but that's it.

It works. It just takes an extra second games do run, but it's best to stick with games that aren't graphically intensive in terms of other daily things that you'd be doing. Furthermore, it gets the job done for texting, web browsing and scrolling through social media apps. So this phone provides a lot of the same experience that more expensive ones provide just a lesser experience, for example, a biotech way of getting into the phone, but it's slower, Super AMOLED display, but it's lower resolution, one and three gigabytes of RAM but kind of weak processor, and that theme continues with the cameras. So it has a dual sensor on the back, meaning that you have a regular main lens and then a wide lens, which is so awesome, and I'm super hyped to see that you had that option here.

But the actual photos are okay, it seems like exposure is kind of hit or miss, and every photo has like a little of like a muddiness to it. The wide-angle is definitely a big step down when compared to the regular camera in terms of quality and the video quality is only 1080p 30 frames per second with no stabilization. So you get the flexibility of having two lenses, but if you're looking for a phone, that really gives you excellent image quality and is in a more budget option, then you're better off. Looking at like the Pixel 3a, the selfie camera is actually pretty decent, though it's 8, Meg pixels, and it's definitely fine for taking like a snapshot. I'm, not a huge fan of like taking a million selfies.

So I don't need to like a crystal-clear setup, so this one is totally fine. So the 820 is a pretty good phone and I know that it kind of has like a die-hard following. So if you own an 820, let me know what you think of it in the comments below, but I thoroughly enjoyed using it. If you're looking to not spend a lot of money on a phone but still get a smartphone. That has a lot of the premium options.

This is a great option or, if you're looking to get like your kid, their first phone. This is also a great option. It will get their feet wet into the smartphone experience without giving them a $1000 responsibility. If you enjoyed this video, definitely give it a thumbs up. It would mean a lot and also subscribe to the channel.

There's a ton of content coming including content on the new Samsung Galaxy s 20 or the S 11, whatever they decide to call it so be sure to check out that content when it comes out. Thank you guys for watching this video, and I'll catch you in the next one bye.
