LG G8 vs LG V40- Quick Spec Comparison

How's it going everybody. This is sick, Eric back again with another video, and today we're doing a quick comparison between the LG g4 t and the LG G. A dink use I decided to do video outside because it's a nice day excellent lighting out here. So you can hear a bunch of noise a bunch of birds and let's go ahead and jump down into it. Both phones are pretty similar as far as their displays go are the only size. The difference is the size.

The LAB 40 is a little taller and a little wider. Then the G set I'm. Sorry, then the g8. So let's go ahead and jump down into it. Both the displays have a P OLED display with a 1440 by 31 20 resolution.

Their g8 has a 564 PPI pixels per inch, while the v40 has 537 pixels per inch. So it is definitely noticeable in the pixels per inch Department. Both of them are covered in Corning, Gorilla, Glass 5. They both support, Dolby Vision, HDR, 10, etc. Both of them are really, really nice panels.

The LG G 8 has come with the Leola panel compared to the g7, which had an LCD panel as far as size, wise, the LG G 8 is five point: nine inches tall, five point, eight inches. Sorry, two point: eight three inches wide and point three inches thick, while the LG v 40 comes in at six point, two: five inches tall, two point: nine inches wide and point three zero inches thick, so did the g8 is a little thicker than the LG v 40, probably because that thirty-five hundred million power battery, that is in there too big a battery both are ip68 water and dust resistance. They both have the military-grade STD hung, compliant drop resistance and yeah, really, really nice bones. The weight on the g8 is five point: eight nine ounces, while the weight on the v40 is five point: nine six ounces, both of them have Snapdragon processors. While on the beef forty you have a Snapdragon, 840, five, six gigabytes of RAM and sixty-four gigs of internal storage on the g8.

You have the Snapdragon 850, five, six gigabytes, RAM and 128 gigabytes of storage. So you get a lot more stores on the g8 as well. They both have micros card expansion up to 520 gigabytes. The LG G 8 has the Arena 640 GPU, while the LG G, a LGA 40, has the adrenal 630 GPU. Both of them have similar cameras.

Probably the same sensors except the LG has a v40, has a telephoto lens main sensor and a wide-angle, while over here on a g8 you're missing the telephoto lens so over here on the g8. The main sensor is a 12 megapixel, F 1.5 sensor with optical image, stabilization and autofocus, and you record up to 4k up to 60 frames per second. The secondary is a 16 megapixel F 1.9 aperture ultra wide-angle on dad. So that gives you to the wider angle field of view. The front-facing camera is 8 megapixels, with an aperture of f17 autofocus up to 1080p 60 frames per.

Second, all the other sensors underneath here are your time-of-flight sensors, which LG is calling your Z camera, and this is pretty much a 3d camera to sense, facial recognition and stuff like that. Meanwhile, over here on the v40, you have three different cameras. The main sensor is a 12 megapixel, F 1.5 main sensor. Oh, is and autofocus the secondary is a 12 megapixel, F 2.4 telephoto lens with 2 times optical zoom. Oh, is an autofocus, and the third is your same ultra-right 16-megapixel at 1.9 aperture ultra-wide, no autofocus records up to 4k 60 as well. The front-facing cameras on the G on the v40 too many damn these and G's.

Is it 8 megapixels, as well with the aperture f 1.9 records up to 1080p 60 30 frames per second excuse me, and it also has a secondary wide-angle 5 megapixel camera with an aperture of f-22 on the front. So it's got 5 cameras over here. You got three cameras over here on the g8, so pretty much the same: sensors you're just getting different software on both devices sound wise. They both have a 32-bit quad DAC onboard. They both have the boombox speakers at the bottom.

The only thing the g8 has is the crystal OLED designed a speaker which has a speaker behind a display, so it gives it that stereo sound on the g8 while on the v40, you just have the bottom firing boom sound speaker. Both of them have headphone jacks at the bottom, as you can see right there, so that is a big, big plus both have USB type-c on them, and they both also will have the Google Assistant button on the left hand, side right there. They both have DTS X sound on them, which is really, really nice, as you can see right there now on all right. Let me go to it alright, anyways. They both have DTS X on here, 3d surround on both the devices along with the quad DAC onboard, so they both have excellent audio battery wise DV 40 has a 3300 William hour battery.

Go quick, recharge 3.0, while on the g8 you have a thirty-five hundred million I battery with quick charge, 3.0 as well. They both offers fast charging and fast wireless charging on both the devices. As far as features go. The gg8 has the crystal OLED sound, which has the speaker behind a display boombox speaker, the 3d facial recognition, which is using the time of light sensor up here. So you get iPhone quality 3d facial unlock, it has the hand ID'd so, where you're able to place your hand above the device to do controls and stuff like that, so I don't think it's working right now, I think I turned it off, but it's a gimmick and I don't really use it.

You also have air motion on here. Another gimmick that I'm not using currently because, like I said, it's a gimmick, Bluetooth 5.0 and both the devices USB type-c 3.1 on both devices and both the devices do have always-on displays. As you can see right there, you do get several nearer. Always-On displays on the lg g8 compared to the v40, considering that it has newer software. So let's go ahead and jump down into the settings of each of the device.

That way you can show you guys I'm ready to show you guys the always-on displays on both these. So if you go into digital clock, as you can see, you have different types of always-on displays on the g8 compared to the v40. You have different one right there different fonts, different fonts. You could also change the colors. Furthermore, you have more color options on the g8, as you can see right there different fonts, so you have a bunch of different options and a lot more different clocks over here on the g8.

So you get at least six more different clocks on the g8 than you do on the v40 with different fonts, as you can see so really, really nice upgrade when it comes down to always-on displays and your clocks. They both have ip68 water and dust resistant, as I mentioned before both of them had the fingerprint sensors on the back. So nothing fancy. No one display fingerprint sensors on these devices, they're sticking to their guns, and it's simple: it works no problem there. On the LGG, a like I said you do have the 3d face, it will face unlock.

You do have fingerprint sensor. You have HD recording on both the devices, so you're able to record voice overs and stuff like that, recording and audio in Full HD, the colors they both come in. They both come in the same colors, platinum, gray, Aurora, black Moroccan, blue and the carmine red. This one is the Ora black, and this is the carmine red. These are ones you're, probably going to find most here in the States, along with the Platinum gray, colors Moroccan blue.

You probably won't find here, probably the international versions but other than that ? excellent device is pretty similar in the camera Department and in display Department. They both offer manual controls on their cameras and see we go over here. They built off her manual control on their cameras as well. So if you go into mode like you, click on there, you get manual video controls on both of these. So that's really, really nice! You go over here to more.

You get manual, video, so yeah. They both have different layouts. As far as their UI goes on the camera app. As you can see, all the manual controls on the v40 or at the bottom. All over here in the g8, they are going along the side, and then you have the option to exit out of it, as you can see right there.

So pretty similar just a little different tweaks on here through the software of course run is running Android 9, the other ones running Android Oreo, but they have tweaked, there's their software a little on the devices. So with that being said, guys, let's go ahead and do a quick walk around comparison of the devices as far as size-wise, you can see that the LGA 40 is taller and wider in the g8 backs. Look pretty much the same. The only thing is the g8 has flush cameras. Well, DAT v40 does not there's a little of a camera bump, as you can see right there, all on the g8 flush.

Really, really nice I'm really digging the carmine red on his g8. It's absolutely beautiful, so yeah that has been a comparison between the LGA 40 and the LGG 8 ? excellent devices from LG. The GA does offer a little more features as far as software goes and customizations and themes and wallpapers. So really, really nice devices just wanted to do a quick comparison on these ? hope you enjoyed the video. Give me a thumbs up if you did thumbs down.

If you didn't do forget to subscribe, and I'll, see you guys in the next one peace.
