Where's, the glass got a request to do TV 40 versus the g8, so these phones have come very close and price since the GAA got that huge. You know price drop, as you can see, 260 right now and if we go look at the v40, it's 219. So if you want a strict budget, this is I, guess a big difference. If you want a really strict budget, but as you can see not too much of a difference here, so hardware wise on both these guys, the same color on here now you have a triple camera set up on the v40, and you have a dual camera set up when the g8 both have the fingerprint scanner in the exact same spot, LG brandy same button layout, as you can see the power buttons. If you can see that- and you also have the SIM tray same exact layout volume rockers on the other side, along with the Google Assistant buddy, now on the bottom, you have the same setup, USB type-c. They both have the headphone jack and one single firing speaker now.
These specs on both phones are pretty similar on the v40. We have a glass in aluminum design, ip68 dust and water resistant. We have the PIO LED. Now you do have a bigger display for 6.4 inches. So if you're into gaming, you're probably going to want to lean towards the v40, because a lot of people I just like gaming on bigger displays to me.
It doesn't really matter, but if you're serious gamer nine times out of 10 you're going with the bigger display, it is 1440p only be 40 always on. This will be getting Android 10 as well. It's currently running Android 9 snapdragon, 845, adrenal 630, along with micros support, 64, gigs of storage and six gigs of RAM. Now as far as specs on the g8, you just can't beat this for 260. It's really great.
So same design, glass and metal, IP rated, you have the same. P OLED display it's a 6.1 inch 1440p always-on. This one is currently running Android, 10 or right now, and it's definitely smoother, so I'm excited when this does get Android 10 snapdragon 855. It will pretty much blow through anything. You play Adrian 6:40, micros support.
You get 128 gigs on here. So much more storage on here and six gigs and RAM, so they both have the same RAM, but you have the 55 versus the 8:45, and you'll find out that you know. If you want a budget you're, not gonna, see a huge difference. You might get some app loading times that you know are a little faster, but you know it's not gonna, be a huge difference. You'll be able to play for Nightclub G Call of Duty on high.
That's pretty much playing the same. Like I said you have that bigger display, one DV 40, which will benefit you now as far as image quality you're, not gonna notice, a huge difference, but the bigger display here so has been C on the v40. Just a bigger display so really comes down to what you want. Do you want the bigger display or the kind of more compact display, they're, both definitely very color, accurate I think the g8 is slightly a bit more color accurate? Like you saw with that orange, it was definitely a more color, accurate, only g8, so I think we have just an overall, better, higher-quality display. Only g8- but it's very you know very, very slight: it's not a huge difference now.
As far as the sound goes. Both of these phones are actually not as loud as the g7 surprisingly, so that was pretty weird, but let's go ahead and see if they're the same yeah, so they sound almost exactly the same. I actually think the v40 might be slightly a bit louder, but they're very close, and they're, both not as good as the g7 all right. So both these phones have NFC for your mobile payments, so that's great Bluetooth 5.0 as well, and now, let's talk about getting into the phone, so you both have very fast fingerprint scanners. I, didn't notice anything different with that, and you also have very fast face unlock pretty much the same, but you have palmed ID on the g8, which is pretty cool to basically read your veins and stuff like that or palm or whatever, and you can see I'll just help my hand over it, and it unlocks very, very cool all right.
So let's talk about the camera situation on here. So on the g8. You have a 12 megapixel standard, a 16 megapixel ultra-wide. You also can shoot in 2160p, and it's very, very good. Furthermore, you have excellent cameras on here.
Also. The selfie camera is very good.8 megapixel cues in 1080p, but the superior camera is definitely the g8. Definitely more color accurate, great dynamic range. It's what you'd expect from you know an updated model. Now only v4 do you get a triple camera set up at 12 megapixels standard 12, megapixel telephoto and a 16 megapixel ultra-wide Houston 2160p.
You actually have a dual: a selfie camera 8 megapixels in there 5 megapixels wide. So you can take a lot of group selfies that will come in handy only v40 and that you have a alright. So, as you can see from a quick photo, I took, as you can see, very identical, I really like LG's color signs as well, and I find colors to be more accurate when the g8 and outdoor photos and low-light photos just a little better on the g8. But as you can see both extremely closely, you can't really go wrong with both. Like I said, you have a telephoto lens on the v40 in that dual, a selfie camera that you don't have the g8.
So as you can see just an excellent deal, you can't really go wrong with both these cameras on here now again, I know. The question is: should I spend that extra money to get the 855 or should I? You know, save the money and go with the bigger display, so if you're into gaming, you know it's not gonna, be a huge difference like if I go ahead and launch and they both will play on high, like I said. So, you know if you're on a strict budget, you know it's not gonna, be a huge, huge difference. So let's go ahead and try a camera. So you can see your experience with the phone, even with this mean on Android 9 this on Android 10.
This memo I should get a little faster once it's on Android 10, so you can see not a huge different. Like I said you will be able to play all the latest games. But if you want to be just future-proof, you know go with the g8, since it does have that 855, and it is very cheap right now, as far as battery life on the v40, you have a 3300 William battery. You also have wireless charging and 18 watt fast charging as well, which is great I've got about 6 to 7 hours of battery life, so you will be able to get a full a day. Out of this you're just going to be running to the charger.
At the end of the day, I'm, not on dg8, you have a 3,500 William battery 21 watt fast charging, so it definitely charges um quicker here on the g8, which is always great, and you also have wireless charging as well. So you definitely get better battery life on the g8. Are you looking at around 8 to 9 hours of screen on time? Again, if you like user in, if you don't use the always-on function, you will be able to save battery life as well, so which phone are you guys going be sure to let me know, and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
