Lenovo YOGA 9i VS Lenovo YOGA C940 (14 inch)

Hello everyone, this video, is a quick comparison of the Lenovo 9 series. Two in one laptop the 14-inch models on the left. We do have the Lenovo 9i. This is the current generation running on intel, Eve platform um and then on the right. We have the Lenovo c940. So it's basically in the same lineup um.

It's just that they chose to proceed with a different naming scheme moving forward, a quick disclosure before we continue. I am not an expert uh when it comes to like the specifics. This is going to be geared towards more of like the functional application and the daily usage um. The one on the right is actually owned by my better half. She has owned this c940 for the past year or so uh and then I was actually amazed by the performance because I borrowed it sometimes so.

I bought my own laptop during this holiday season and I got the top spec model. Okay, let's go ahead and proceed with the Lenovo 9i um. In terms of like the physical features in quality um. They said that there are like subtle changes with the weight and also with the uh with the dimensions. I don't notice anything if you could see it's pretty much the same I haven't noticed anything like with the weight um with the color.

This is a new color for the nine eye, so this is what they call the shadow black with a leather cover on it, which might require more from you in terms of like the care um, because this is, I think, a genuine leather. So if you had any spills on it, you might have to like to wipe it with a leather, cleaner, go ahead and refer to the pamphlet or the booklet that is in the um in the box that came with it so again, um it might require more in terms of like the overall look, it's basically your own preference. I think both of the colors look uh look good. The mica is not really my preference. It doesn't really like portray that color or the professional color that app scale look.

But if you like it, then you do you so, let's proceed um, I'm gonna! Go ahead and open the Lenovo 9i, the Lenovo 9i current generation is running on the intel Eve platform. Um. This specific model that I got is with the highest specification: 1185 g7. It is also running on 16gb gigs of ram with 512 gigs of hard drive, storage, and another thing is that it is with the 4k HDR resolution with a 10 point touch system um, the colors are vivid, and it's it can really get bright um. I work beside a window um, so I can definitely tell the difference, and although there is a glare, it wouldn't really affect the overall performance, and you could see all this- the information and the crispness of the collar as well um in comparison with the previous generation c940.

Now this can also get bright, but then again, if you would look at it side by side, you could definitely see that this is like worlds apart, like the colors are different um. This is more vibrant, it reproduces more colors um, and you can see the dots in here like the pix elation is very apparent, but in here, even if you like, actually look like three inches close, you are not going to be seeing any of those pix elation. So that's one thing to consider if you're really keen on the colors and that's one thing that you're going to be looking at when you're working or when you're actually doing some entertainment, um performance wise, both of them are running with 16 gigs, 5, 512 gigs of hard drive, storage um. We would use it to do like uh the daily application that you do with it with a computer such as word processing. We also did a little of photo editing with both.

Furthermore, we cannot really notice any difference. So again, the main factor here is the screen. That's the only major difference that I could see um this uh compromises a lot of things with this one. There are no compromises at all, um keyboard, it's pretty much the same. They are saying that this has more tactile feel on it.

I can't really tell the difference: um, another thing is the touchpad. Now this is again a preference. This is running on a newer technology, the current generation with a haptic feedback. So, as you can see, the boundaries are not really that apparent, because this is all glass. I'm sorry about that um and this one, because it's still with like the tactile touch, there's the stickiness into it.

Um then they have, I mean, then that's the way. It works this one right here, because it's still in the early stages, you could definitely like to feel the haptic feedback, but it's the motor. I think it's not really that strong. So that's one thing to consider um, I think there are no options anyway, so I think you would have to go with this one if you wanted to like, buy the current generation. Oh, another thing that I forgot right, there is the sound.

So again I am I it might not do justice with the video but the sound. I've noticed a difference when it comes to like the sound from the c940, which is already good and the current generation 9 I this is louder, I think um, the speakers are way better again, I'm not an audiophile, so um, I don't ask me with the frequencies and with the uh with the overall quality, but then again this is louder. It has more bass on it. It has more thump. This is also good, but this is way better, probably about 40 percent better.

If you asked my uh my feedback about it. Okay, so I am going to try to play the same video on both of the laptops right now, just with the naked eye um. I can see that there's already like a difference in the color reproduction and the brightness. I hope it can be recorded in the video, and I hope that you could see the difference, but here we go again no pixelating right here in this 9i, because it has the 4k resolution. If you, if you would look closely with the 1080p resolution, you could see the pix elation in there already.

I hope you could see that in the video um another thing this is brighter the 4k uh, the 9i, with the 4k screen, is brighter in comparison to the 1080p resolution that you get from the c940 all right. So enough of that now, let's proceed with the sound test. I'm going to go ahead and start with the 9i. Now, let's move on with the same music in the c940 same volume, the words okay and then with a picture. So I could, I'll go ahead and give you an example right here.

I hope you could see the change, but then again, this is where you see that difference. This is dimmer, and this right here both of them are in full brightness right now, um. If you looked closely at the 4k resolution, you would see all the details. The photo resolution is actually the photo resolution is actually 4k. If you go with the 1080p resolution right here, if you're not comparing them, you might not really even notice it, but there are pixelating already so because the pixels are like way bigger in this uh.

In this laptop, there are a little uh. There is a compromise in that area. So again, um. That's one thing to consider and if you're not really keen on like the pix elation and everything, then I think you could go for the the c940, which is also on sale right now, um, okay, so, overall my recommendations, uh when it comes to both of the laptops. Both of them are perfect, like you can't go wrong with either the c940 or the current generation.9I. Both of them are on sale during uh during this holiday season.

Um, and it all depends on your preference and in your budget um I was able to I mean I'm able to get them both at a sale price. However, I chose to spend more with the c Na with us with a 9i, because I'm really keen with the color and with the 4k resolution. Now the compromise is in there is that um. If you went for the 9i um, the battery life is going to be like 30 less, I'm only getting like five to six hours of work. Time with this.

In full brightness with a lot of tabs open uh, while with the c940, according to my better half she's, getting about eight to ten hours same thing, we both have the same job, so um she's getting more from her laptop. I think that is actually because she has like the lower resolution and with the dimmer brightness as well. So again, if you are with the quality, and if you wanted, like that 4k resolution, you wouldn't regret going with the c9 with the 9i, but if you're more of like uh the practical one, and you want to save some money, then go for the c940. And that concludes my video, and thank you all for watching I'll, see you in the next one bye.
