Lenovo Yoga 3 11 Review

What's up guys, low with low tech, we're actually going to be doing a quick review of the Lenovo yoga 311 inches. So this is something we did the unboxing for about a week ago and overall we really liked the design we really liked what we found. We liked the performance. Oh, there are some quirks that some of you guys should be aware of, if you're, actually considering in purchasing this device. Now one of the main reasons why a lot of people are interested in it is the fact that it does do the whole Nova yoga part. So the fact that you can get a fully functional tablet out of this device, and it does work in any orientation, as you can see now we really like the screen on this device.

One of the things, though, that you may not be aware of when playing with it at the store, is that there is a fair amount of rippling happening when you touch the sides of the device now. Obviously this is not something that would normally happen with most tablets, but it does happen here, and it does see, happens on both sides. The top corners are probably less affected by it, but the bottom ones are definitely the most one of the other things that is great about this tablet. Well, is the fact that it does have the full keyboard and this keyboard is disabled. When you flip back into tablet mode.

However, one of the things that we noticed is that unless you have the tablet completely flushed with the back, so even if it's just slightly open, you should be able to get the mouse to move and click and press keys and all that stuff. So that is definitely a downside. I think keep closing keep closed and keep closing, keep closing, keep closing, and they're gonna. Finally, stop just when it's pretty much flush. So, given the fact that this is not held together supremely firmly like you can get it at almost any angle from here, but the last little is enough: solely snug, there is a chance that you can hit keys accidentally on the back if you are using it in the tent mode that Lenovo so fervently shows off.

As for a yoga feature, the mouse still moves. You can still close apps things like that using the keyboard, so is not necessarily the best implementation, I kind of wish that it would turn off the keyboard as soon as it got past, a straight 180-degree angles, and so all these would be turned off keyboard and touchpad. Now this is the silver model. There are black and white models available. This is a silver model that comes from Best Buy, and it is plastic and I, don't have any scratches in it.

Yet, however, it does look like a surface that would get scratched. It is not metal, I mean it will price match through and most likely show it blacks through it. How did that issue for me? So far, I usually take pretty good care of my devices, but it is something to be aware of if you are going to be pretty rough on your device. The grip on the side of it is very nice. So it's not a very flat finish like it is on the top and bottom.

It actually has a nice groove edges. So, there's a texture that helps you really hold it on the sides. It's very nice when you're holding it in this way when you're holding it as a tablet, though it is a little less useful piece because there are is a gap. This area of the tablet, or the laptop I should say, does get very warm. There are no fans inside the device.

There are just these two little vents that are pretty much more like speaker grilles, even though the speakers don't necessarily come out of here. So it does get fairly warm, not so hot that it would be in any danger of hurting you or anything like that, but it does make it a little more uncomfortable to hold. What's nice about it. Being in that position, though, is that position is going to be covered when you are in tablet mode, so you will actually see that, although you actually still can feel it inside the keyboard itself, the hinge on this device is very similar to the yoga to, so it does not. Have the nice watch bands like hinge, that is in the yoga 313 inches.

So this is very similar to what you'd see and actually most laptops, because I obviously can go completely flat down, but it would've been nice to actually see the reinforced one that is inside the higher-end model. I mean it's not exactly a three dollar laptop you are gonna, be paying at least $700 for even the lowest end model, so you might as well be getting the best quality out of it, and so that is somewhere where a little kind of skimped on the cheaper model. The grip is pretty stiff for picking out what angle you want the tablet to end on, which is nice, because you can get pretty much. It just is stationary in any position you need it to, although it can make opening the device a little harder than it needs to be, because you can't do it with one finger, because the whole device will come up so I. Guess if you ship it a little and get it out, but you've really going to need two hands: gonna, be a two-handed operation to get it open and closed.

There are no moving parts in the device, so that does make it a little more reliable, I'm, not really concerned about using it and walking around I can spin it around shake it. There's nothing in there. I can jog loose now looking on the size here. The buttons that are here are the power and volume up and down. They can be a little tricky to find when you are in tablet mode, which is main reason where you'd be looking for me, because there are volume controls in the F keys at the bottom.

But when you are in tablet mode, those are the only volume keys that are available to you. After a little while you do get the sense of feel between the two, you can see that there are little nubs on top of the volume keys. There isn't one on here for the power, but it is something to be aware of that. They aren't like on opposite sides of the device, for example, or farther apart. There are, they are very, very close to each other, so you can see the performance in a lot of the videos we have done so far.

We haven't found anything that it can do. Definitely, the processor is the highlight of the story. The GPU is not much if at all, faster than the 5y10, that's inside the Dell and a lot of lower end models. So if you're getting this device in particular because of the faster GPU, the actual 100 megahertz, that is advertised in the end, it normally doesn't make a difference and in most cases, is actually slower because of the extra heat that it gets from the processor speed turn around to the side. Here we have the USB 3, as well as the charging USB here now the charging USB the cable comes with.

It looks very much like a USB on one end and has a slightly misshapen USB on the other, to make sure you only plug it into the right port. So you don't accidentally fry your motherboard like that, which is great. However, you will need to have this particular USB cable in order to charge it, so that is somewhat of a downside, and you can't actually charge this device like a laptop or like a tablet, would from another USB powered device. Unfortunately, so you can't actually plug this into it if I say another desktop computer and charge it in turned like that has to be going into a standard wall charger just because the amount of watts coming from it is much higher than you would get a standard charger. We actually tested this and the unit itself truck pulls down about 15 watts from the wall and when it's charging and can go up to about 30 to 32 watts when it's charging the battery and also running the device like playing a game or something like that, the wall charger itself is pretty nice, it's not as nice as the one we had that we saw in the Dell, because the Dell could be used in two different ways: we plugged in a standard charger port like this way as well as it could be said straight up.

Basically, the way this is designed. You can only go in, you know one or two ways, but no real complaints here, it's still much better and much smaller than you would get with most laptops, and you aren't required to have you know the two separate cable pieces just because, while you use the USB and this will Park plugs into the wall, the speakers are on the device are pretty good for considering it as a tablet as a laptop. They aren't the best. They are a little tiny sounding. So let's actually just increase the volume on this video that it's all the way up, but this is already using the trick with Windows using the volume enhancement.

So this is about as loud as it will go. Definitely enough for personal enjoyment, but if you're going to be using it to show the video to multiple people or having audio playing the background, it probably will be you're. Probably going to want to have a separate speaker system. Another thing to be aware of is the there is a button for f4 that will let you just to close any app much like an alt f4 without actually pressing FN alt. For so, it is very handy to have it there.

However, if you are having multiple things open or if you're just trying to turn up the volume turn it down blowing, you could accidentally click the close button and lose everything you're doing at the time. So that is something to be aware of. If you are somebody who uses this keyboard at night ?, the keyboard is not backlit, so you could accidentally close the app you're trying to work with by trying to track volume, which is something to be aware of. It's not necessarily a downside, because it's nice to have it there, but it is definitely not for everybody. The screen does get pretty bright for what you see in most laptops, and it does get very, very dim to the point where you can barely see it with the studio lights here on.

However, even at full brightness, if you are gonna, be using it in a room with a lot of lights on, it can be a little harder to see. So you will be mostly using it at the upper registers of the brightness mode unless you're in a very, very dim room. So it is very nice when you are trying to use the laptop in a dark room or where you don't have the light to bother you, but at the same time I wish it did get brighter. The touchpad, for the most part, is very good. It is very responsive, for you know moving around clicking.

There are two things that I have noticed with the device in that, sometimes when the device is just turning back on we're resuming from sleep that the scroll function no longer works, and it does take about. You know five to 10 seconds for that function to come back in, hopefully something that can fix the driver update. But currently that is what happens. The other thing that I noticed, and there is currently no way that I can find fix. Is there you can do the single tap to drag around and to click with, and things like that, so you don't need to.

You know tap the physical button inside it. However, if you want to do the two-finger touch, you can't to finger just tap this way even in the settings or something to turn on. You can only do two fingers until the button clicks to actually get thick, the secondary click, the right click, so it doesn't matter how many times you click it this way until you press it down far enough, it won't work the same thing, the secondary click here at the bottom. It doesn't always get obviously accordion in the demo I'm using a secondary click in the bottom. You know I'm clicking it, it doesn't actually always register has to be a little more in the center or in the middle here of the button.

But here on the right side, it doesn't always get what you're looking for, which I have not found to be it quite as bad on this side, but mainly because I use the touch one thing I should make note of is I. Did have issues in the beginning with the laptop turning off automatically at random times, so it wasn't something set into sleep. It was actually a program crashing I needed to uninstall one of the intel programs that wasn't sold on to it. The dynamic thermal framework I believe it was called that had to be uninstalled because he kept crashing the computer. We're actually just think us being tripped and automatically going into sleep mode.

So that is something that the software itself is supposed to be able to dynamically regulate your computer shows and get too hot. However, I needed to uninstall that just because it would turn off my computer by itself, so not something that was a desired function of it, but also it needs be fixed. I haven't really noticed any downfalls in battery life after uninstalling it I do normally get the 6 hours+. That Lenovo says you should be getting if you're doing more basic things, and you are a little lenient on the brightness setting. However, like I was saying before, if you are in a bright area, you are normally going to be upping the brightness past that, so you may well be getting 4 to 5 hours out of it in gaming, about 3 hours is normal depending again on the brightness setting.

You could probably eat that up to 4. If you needed to what it's very nice about, it is even at full blast. This computer only uses 15 watts, and so that's very, very power efficient compared to many of the computers in the past. Even though the battery is not super large, it does make it through a workday very easily. Overall, though it's a very nice device, it does make you feel much more professional than if you were to have something that said Acer on the back no offense days or fans, but Lenovo doesn't sound like a brand that you use for business.

I know that a lot of big companies use them. So this is necessarily a very nice-looking business device. Overall I would recommend it to anybody who's actually looking for something with a touchscreen that, especially if they want to use it. As a tablet, sometimes, if you are plenty of using as a tablet most of the time, I would recommend something that is more of a dedicated tablet, especially with the screen rippling. It doesn't bother me so much I decided to keep the device.

This will be my daily driver for going forward, but it will be something that other people would notice, and it might bother them. This is the type of thing that a lot of people make YouTube videos about saying why this device is terrible and why we're returning it, but this is just what happens with this device, because how thin it, so thanks for watching this is an LOW with low tech, and this has been the Lenovo yoga.311 inch review subscribe.
