Hey everybody welcome back to tech odyssey. So today, I'm here to do my review of the Lenovo tab. M10 FHD plus tablet it's a two in one that offers the tablet functionality. It's got android 10! It's got a 10.3-inch screen full HD, plus lots of good things going on there, four gigabytes of ram, but the interesting part about this one is the two in one: it has a docking station or a dock included in it, and it allows a tablet to turn into smart display mode whenever you put it on the dock. So that's really cool, and it's not overly expensive. The price varies especially with the holidays and stuff right now, but you can find them pretty regularly around the 169 dollar ballpark, which I think is pretty favorable when it comes to this tablet.
So before we get into all this, so I do want to say if this is your first time stopping by the channel. I appreciate you being here if you enjoy the video please hit the like and the subscribe button and the little notification bell if you want updates when new videos come out now, let's talk about the tab, m10 FHD plus. So here we are with the tab. M10 FHD, plus it's a fairly sizable tablet, but it's not unwieldy. You can see.
I can still hold it with one hand here. It's got minimal bezels around the edges, so you get a really, really nice full access experience to the screen. Here it doesn't have a fingerprint sensor. It has facial recognition, so the facial unlock technology, it's okay, I'm not going to say that it's all that great, if you're using it in the dark, you can pretty much forget it, but it's a nice biometric takes about as long as it does to typically type in the pen. So if you're feeling particularly lazy or just want to unlock it with your face, you can do that when it comes to the screen, it's an LCD panel, but it doesn't look bad at all and the colors and the saturation are nice.
The brightness I'll go ahead and turn the brightness all the way up, so you can see- and this is with the brightness all the way up, so you can see that it looks pretty good, especially on the inside. Now I have a full complement of apps installed on here. Right now, there's actually not a lot of bloatware on here, which I'm really happy about. Sometimes you get these tablets, and they just have so much garbage that are pre-installed on them, not this one. Basically, it has a couple of Nova things, and then it has like the Dolby Atmos app, because this does have Dolby Atmos sound, which is nice.
You can customize the experience you can set up different profiles. You can change the equalizer to tune the sound, how you want it, and it's global, and it applies for when you're, using the tablet for the speakers, or also when you're using wired headphones because hey it's got a headphone jack on top, and then you can use your Bluetooth earbuds or your Bluetooth headphones as well with this. So this is one of the better multimedia tablets that I've used in a while and if you watch some of my other tablet videos, you know I'm not typically too keen on the not Samsung tablets, because they don't usually bring a lot to the table. Lenovo is kind of an exception to that and the nice thing about this Lenovo tablet. Is it's not trying to compete and be a productivity tablet? It's not trying to be a laptop replacement.
It's not trying to be an iPad Pro or a tab. F7 plus it's just a tablet, and I appreciate that. I, like just good tablets this one's ideal for some gaming. You can do light gaming on here. You can play pub g because, surprisingly, it doesn't require a ton of specs, but this one has 32 gigabytes of storage.
Furthermore, you can expand the SD card, so you can do that as well. It has four gigabytes of ram. There is a two gigabyte ram model. Just from my personal experience and me using this one, I wouldn't really recommend the two gigabyte one, but it is available for people that want it. So if you're looking to get the two gigabyte model, really you're, probably using this more for just media consumption- you're, just using it for like social media, some light browsing and for the smart display that at a cheap price point I think, could be okay for some people.
It's a very big tablet. It's very premium- and you can see here- it's got a nice metal body with a solid finish on it. Oleo phobic coating on the screen, so you have to worry about leaving your oils and fingerprints all over it. Eight megapixel camera on the back five megapixels on the front. You can do your duo calls.
You can do some Zoom meetings. Furthermore, you can use this for pretty much whatever and that's nice, especially if you get this for under 200 bucks MSRP, especially with you know, with the version that comes with the smart display with the dock, I think, is about 250 dollars. So if you want to spend that much money, I mean it may still be worth it in that category. But if you can pick it up on sale right now, I saw it on Best Buy for, like 169 bucks I'll have some links in the drop-down. You can check those out as well.
If you want to look at the best buying the Amazon prices and stuff Lenovo I'll, have it down there in the description, but stereo speakers which are pretty well regarded. I think the only disappointing thing with the sound is it wasn't the most amazing when it came to listening to music. But what really surprised me was. I was listening to Spotify the music sounded okay and then it kind of was like well it's not as impressive as I thought it was going to be, and then I turned it on to Netflix and Amazon, and I started watching video and that's where this really shines in the media and multimedia department. It is tuned so well for TV shows and video and for vocals.
So if you want to watch TV shows- and you want to be able to hear clearly- you don't want to have to hear all the other stuff that's going on or turn the volume up really loud and hear all the other noises going on. This is good for that. So I really like that, and it looks crisp on the full 1080p plus screen. So you've got a lot of give and take here, like I said, 5000 ml amp battery. That's plenty for when you want to pick it up and use it two three four five six hours, but if you want the kids to use this for an eight-hour car ride, if you forget to plug it in at night, when you get done with it, you need to use it the next day.
You know those are some limiting factors. Whenever you start talking about longevity with this tablet so and yeah, there are phones that have similarly sized batteries that are like a third a quarter the size of this tablet. So I'm not really sure what was going on there. But it's still it's made very well and that's one thing that I do want to give them some points here for a lot of times. You pick up android tablets, especially some lesser expensive ones, and they are not the nicest they're, not the most polished they're, not the most refined, but this one has like an all-aluminum body.
It's got really nice stereo speakers on it. It's got a nice screen on it. They put a lot of money into design, how it looks how it feels ergonomics, Dolby Atmos. So there are some check marks here whenever it comes to a lot of those things where it doesn't get. The check marks the battery the power on here.
So it's powerful enough that you can do pretty much whatever you need to on here. It's not the smoothest or the fastest experience in the world in here, because it's got the MediaTek hello p22t processor. In here it's a decent processor. It's got plenty of speed once you're inside apps, but as far as like multitasking, it's not as nice as some of the more later snapdragon processors, but you can use it. Just fine get over your Google feed, you can do all the normal day-to-day stuff.
You do all you're streaming, you do all your social media stuff and that's you know perfect. Whenever it comes to those things, so you don't have problems, it doesn't really take a long time to load anything. It's pretty fluid for just being a tablet and that's really the resounding theme here. It's just a tablet, and it's a pretty good tablet for a good price. Now, where this gets fascinating, is whenever you throw the docking cradle into the equation, it turns it into a smart display.
I have a Lenovo smart display that I've been using for like the last two years. I reviewed it, use it every day. Furthermore, I absolutely love it. It ties in with your Google home. It ties in with all the stuff that you have connected to it so very easily on here.
When I put this in the tablet, it will go into docking mode, it turns into a smart display. I can use my voice and talk to it. You can interact with the screen itself. You can turn on and off lights. Furthermore, you can turn on and off whatever you have connected through the smart display with your Google home.
So it's really, really nice, and I like that, a lot you can tell it to set an alarm. You can tell it to play. Thunderstorm sounds when you're going to sleep, you can watch videos on it. You can set it up in your kitchen, and you can follow along with your recipes or YouTube, while you're sitting there doing your cooking or whatever. So there's a lot of versatility to this, and I think that really needs to be hammered home with this.
It is a very good just normal tablet for many things that people are going to want to use it for, and then it takes that next level in the smart display world and had I not used a smart display for so long already. I wouldn't have been as excited about it because maybe it's not the biggest selling feature when somebody looks at the box and says: oh okay, it's a smart display. That's really cool, though, and I like it a lot, and it adds like a whole other level to this. You can use it for your tablet, and then you get ready for bed, or you just want to have a nice smart assistant, or you know your smart display in your bedroom or wherever else and is very portable, because all you have to do is take the docking station somewhere else and plug it in you're good to go so that element right. There makes this a really cool tablet for me, especially if you can get it under the 200 price range.
I was looking recently. You can pick it up on Best Buy for like 169, and I think that is a really, really good deal, because you look at a lot of the other tablets that I've been testing out lately. Tab s6, lite, the tab, s6 tab s7 those are significantly more expensive than like 170 dollars. So this right here good value, it does what you need it to do, which I think a lot of people are just looking for something like that and then also it has one other added element that I want to kind of talk about for a second. It has a kids' mode on here.
Already built in. All you have to do is hit the kids' mode icon, and it goes into this own little shell. So the only thing they have access to it here, there are three little apps in here already monster class monster, coloring monster camera, it's very nicely set up now you can see I've got a calculator in there. I was testing it out because hey I need to be able to tell you about all this stuff. You can set other apps in here as well, so any app that you have installed on your tablet.
You can enable for this, so you can put this in here, and then they can't get out unless they have the parental code which you set up a pin, and then they can live happily in their little Lenovo tablet world, where they're not messing with your stuff they're, not deleting your pictures, they're, not deleting your messages, they're not going through your email, they're, not accidentally, calling somebody on duo or doing things they're not supposed to be that's another element to this tablet that I really like. So it's great as a tablet, especially at the price point, it's great as a smart display, and then it's also great for a kid's tablet. So three different layers to this onion. I ain't just an ogre reference. You know from talking about Shrek if you've ever seen that if you're a parent you know but anyway, I do like this tablet and of course I need to get out of kids mode now and to get out of kid mode, just go type in your pin, but anyway yeah.
I think that if you're looking at this, you can find it for less than 200 bucks. You get it with the docking cradle for the smart display. I don't think you can really go wrong with the price point. No, it's not a productivity tablet, it's not a replacement for your laptop. This is not an iPad Pro.
This is not a Samsung Galaxy tab, s7 or s7 plus. This is a Lenovo tab, m10, FHD plus, and it's perfect at being one of those and at the price point especially find it on sale. I think it's a good deal. So that's all I've got on my review of the Lenovo tab, m10 FHD, plus two in one.
