Keyboard TYPING TEST - Blackberry KeyONE vs. Galaxy S8 vs. iPhone 7 Plus

Hello everybody welcome back to the channel. Thank you so much for joining me today and today, I'm going to do a little of a different test with the BlackBerry key one. So the key one that I bought has been really popular on this channel and I can understand why this is a very interesting phone. So it hit me today while I was sitting the key ones. Keyboard is its main selling point, but is it really more effective than it is a normal phone like Galaxy, s8 or an iPhone, 7, plus and I know? The answer to this is objective based on what you prefer, but as someone who's used phones for a while and I used a huge variety of phones, so over the years of using so many phones, I've gotten used to different types of keyboards, and you know getting used to just typing on different software's as well. But one thing I always see is that I prefer a certain type and a certain set up in my keyboards, and I've come to a point where I know what I like, but today, I want to do a little of a test where I compare the speed of the blackberry, the Galaxy S8 and the iPhone, which this is being recorded on right now and see how fast I could type a pre-written paragraph on, so I came up with this written paragraph that has a combination of a lot of numbers, symbols and punctuation, which is something that you that would represent a business email or something you would write when you know the situation arises and since the BlackBerry is geared to being a business phone for business users, I think this would be very interesting to see how it compares to the iPhone and the Galaxy S8.

Alright so beginning with the Galaxy S8 I'm, going to use Evernote, and I'm just going to create a new note here, a text note and oh there we go alright. So as I told you guys before. Here is the pre-written kind of test paragraph that I made up so that I could use for this comparison and what I'm going to do is I'm just going to copy it word-for-word from the page and I will try to see how many kinds of errors I see. So, let's go, and I'm going to start timing this there we go, so I just finished this test and the thing I noticed about the galaxy is. It is it's pretty easy to use the keyboard.

There's a dedicated number row, but you know still sometimes I thought there are a little of issues when I try to get in some special characters finding it here takes a little of time, but this is something that happens for all phones, so I'm, not gonna, say anything, but overall I think the typing experience was very simple. It didn't really bug me too much and the time will speak for itself, so I'm going to move on to the BlackBerry key one. So here's the key one, and I'm going to start off and do the same exact test. I'm going to create a new note and I will get right to it. I kind of drafted this to be a representation of what you might send an email as to maybe a client or someone you're working with that's why it has a lot of numbers.

It has symbols, and it's very thorough in my mind, so I'm going to get right to it. So I'm going to start the timer now, so I just completed the test on the blackberry on other keyboards there's a little of rejection. When you hit the keys together, it kind of senses what you're trying to type but on the physical keyboard. You really don't have that kind of software detection. So you, if you hit a wrong key you're going to hit the key, and it's going to come up, so I'm going to move on to the iPhone 7 plus all right.

So here's the 7 plus I'm going to do the same exact thing on Evernote, so opening up Evernote I know I said I was gonna, use the Notes app on the phone, but I thought that it would be a little more relevant if I just use the same app for all three devices. So I'm going to start off with the test, and we'll see what the time is. At the end, there we go, so I just finished up with the iPhone 7 now I'm going to put the times up on the screen, but what I want you guys to know is that all three phones are all three of these phones. I did not turn off predictive text for one simple reason: that's because we use predictive text all the time. So I wanted to include a score.

That would help me determine how much the phone really does work, because without predictive text, which most people use, and I use myself I would make a lot more time just trying to edit those things. I've screwed up while I was typing, which, as you can see, is a lot especially on the iPhone I noticed myself, just letting myself go and typing the wrong things, knowing that autocorrect will pick it up, but with a blackberry, I didn't do that as much I kind of felt. The need to correct the words my on my own, so the time on its own isn't an indication of how well the keywords are I believe the mistakes that were made would be the clear indicators. So what I would say that the conclusion of this kind of test is that, obviously, you guys see have seen the times and then mistakes, but overall I, believe that this test only proved to me that no one keyboard is perfect for everyone, everybody needs their own style. Everybody has their own taste.

So I would say that for me, the iPhone 7 plus was the best, mostly because how well the spaces were given between keys. It didn't feel jammed in, like it does on a lot of other phones. But again this isn't the most friendly for one-handed typing. The key one makes one-handed typing impossible, but the s8 one-handed typing is very possible, and it isn't that uncomfortable I would also like to note that the BlackBerry key ones keyboard is very comfortable, despite you know not being the fastest one. On this test, I would say that longer typing would be more comfortable on this phone, because the tactile feedback of pressing the button for some reason is a lot more gratifying than just the software.

Even though the Galaxy S a does vibrate on typing I. Don't find it to be that gratifying. So I can understand why the BlackBerry fans love their keyboards, and I am very happy that I got to use this phone. They taught me a lot about blackberry as a company, and if you haven't seen my previous videos on it, I highly recommend you do. It was a very my overall experience with the BlackBerry key.

One has been very positive, and I will definitely recommend this phone, but not to everyone. It's a very niche market, but the people who I know would really benefit from this phone. There is no other phone that I would recommend to them. Thank you guys for watching this video.
