I've had the Pixel 5a for TWO MONTHS! The Pixel 5a Long Term Review!

This is a liar, and this is a pixel 5a, and I've used this for 58 days at the time of this recording. Let's talk about that. What's up everybody! This is Scott. Welcome back to another video in today's video. This is my essentially two month review of using the pixel 5a as my daily driver. That's correct, 58 days, so a couple answers real quick, because I can already hear you thinking on this side of the video.

No, I can't tell you how I did that. Yes, I am telling the truth. No, I don't have the pixel 6 or the 6 pro and yes, the 5a is still my daily driver, thanks for stopping by now that I have that out of the way, let's start with the look feel and the aesthetics of the pixel 5a, the pixel 5a is that very familiar material, bio resin, like experience of that of the 4a and the 4a5g and honestly the pixel 5 as well. However, it's very, very slippery, much like that of the Pixel 4a and the 4a5g and from a size perspective, it's just slightly taller than that of the 4a 5g, and it's definitely larger than that of the pixel 5. It comes with 6 gigs of ram 128 gigs of storage, and that does not have expandable storage either.

It's basically like a skinnier, slightly taller version of the 4a 5g, and I mean ever so slightly taller this bad boy like that of the a-line members before it comes with a headphone jack, which is amazing, but even more amazing, actual stereo speakers. Now I was given a bunch of crap last year for saying that the pixel 5 speakers didn't sound that bad. I even made the mistake of saying that they actually sounded pretty good, which is, I think, exactly how I said it. However, these speakers are very, very good. They get nice and loud, and I am much happier now that I have true stereo speakers.

Phone calls sound, very, very good and when the music comes out of the speakers, they're like this nice full rich sound, they definitely sound better than the pixel 5 speakers for sure. Next, let's talk about the battery life. This thing comes in with a whopping 40 680 William hour battery and that lasts easily all day check out these battery screenshots that you can see on screen right now and while this does not come with wireless charging, which is actually fine anyways. In my particular opinion, it makes up for missing the wireless coils with a monster battery and to date this is the largest battery. That's ever been placed in a pixel, and the battery life honestly provides the proof now that I've talked about battery life.

Let's talk about the performance in full disclosure. This particular section was kind of difficult for me to write and honestly talk about on screen, because it makes me particularly nervous I'll flat out, say it this way. I have personally experienced the heat warnings on my pixel 5a, but that came when I was using the GPS in a hot window while it was plugged in charging at the same time as it was navigating and also a little over four minutes straight of 4k 60, while on 5g and using stabilization now to be fair. I have also experienced the heat issues on my regular pixel 5 when recording in 4k 60, but that was also on a hot day while using 5g and stabilization outside that the performance was completely fine. For me, I played Roblox with my kids golf battle for myself used all the Microsoft Office applications.

Did google video duo, chats Microsoft Teams conference calls you name it is handled it. I threw a bunch at it, however, because of that overheating warning in the past, I was always a little worried that if I throw a lot at it all at once, it could rear its ugly head again now in the past 58 days using it like I just described, I didn't really go easy on it at all. It was only those couple of times that I had mentioned that I had those heat warning issues. Now, I'm not saying it's going to be perfect, and I mentioned it in my last video. This feels like it's something software related which doesn't give google a pass at all, but it's also something that I've experienced on the same operating system, but using that on the pixel 5.

, so yeah, I'm not really sure about it, because I didn't have this performance, laggy issues it didn't like chug or churn, or anything like that for me, so yeah, I'm just telling you that's what I experienced when using it for the past two months from a software and an OS perspective. What keeps me coming back? Why I'm really excited about what you see from the pixel 5a the voice transcription is one of the things that continues to keep me coming back, as well as the Google assistants and the experience of a clean, android interface system. That honestly just works for me. I know exactly what to expect when I'm using my pixel 5, and I absolutely love it because of that. This wouldn't be a pixel video unless I actually talked about the photos and the videos that come out of the Google Pixel 5a.

So take a look at some of these shots and see exactly what you might be able to get out of the pixel 5a. When somebody asked me the other day, why do you continuously use pixel all the time when you have an iPhone 12 Pro max, or you could use a note, 20, ultra or a whole plethora of other cameras, and the reason is the pixel gives you the ability to trust that you're going to get the shot that you want, and it's going to be one of the best in the game, because Google's computational photography, like I said before this particular device or all of the pixels itself, allows you to capture the moment that you want to capture and then be back in that exact same moment before the moment completely passes you by. It allows me to capture something that I can remember later, but still be At that moment, because I can just trust that google's going to get the shot that I want. I mentioned all the photos, but what I didn't mention is the video now what you all don't know well. Well, some of you actually thought about it in the comments and leave.

The comment accordingly is that I shot the entire. The pixel 5a will be amazing, video that you see on YouTube, and I will link right here that entire video, which includes the microphones and exactly what you could see in here that was completely shot on the actual pixel 5. So the video on it that you see is exactly everything that you can expect to get straight out of the pixel, no color correction and the microphone itself is also no audio correction at all boiled down to the brass tacks. What does it mean? It means the video is going to be a beast on a device that comes in less than 500, all in including sales tax, which is crazy, so you're getting all-day battery life good performance, some of the best, if not the best photos, pretty darn good. Looking video an ecosystem that provides regular, pixel, drops and regular updates all for less than 500 all in including sales tax.

I would have a hard time telling you not to get a pixel 5a only because you can't get a pixel 5, or you can't get a Pixel 4a right now. So from that perspective, for the price point that you're going to get man the pixel 5 is, it is a really darn good value, a 5g phone that gives you everything that I just talked about yeah, that is, that is quite the package now. I personally believe that the performance will be fine, especially going to android 12 within the next few months, but, like everybody says you shouldn't buy based on future updates. So I don't want to give google a pass here. They've definitely got to figure out that whole heat thing in android 11 between all the pixel devices, not just the pixel 5a.

So, at the end of the day, do I recommend the pixel 5a yeah I've been using it as my daily driver and I plan to continue to use it as my daily driver until the pixel 6 and the pixel 6 pro, which I will be buying in the fall so yeah. If you have like a parent or something like that, that's looking to get inside the Google Pixel ecosystem. This is definitely a device that you can get in for again less than 500 all in including the sales tax that you get. You can't really go wrong with a value like this, so that's it. That's all.

I have more videos to come on the pixel 5a for sure I'll be doing a ton of comparison videos, but let me know in the comments: are you picking up a pixel 5a on day, one if you're picking this up on day, one? Let's use the hashtag team pixel day one buy, and that way I can at least follow exactly who's going to be buying the 5a on day one. So that's it! That's all I have, as always as share subscribe, thumbs up, leave a comment below, and we'll see you next time. You.
