Is the Android Tablet dead?

What is up everybody, it's Larry back with you, and today I want to talk to you about the TCL tab. Now this is in the TCL. I believe this is their first dive into the tablet space. This is a budget tablet, that's exclusively at Verizon, so this has uh connectivity, LTE connectivity, so in the box, you're going to get the tab, eight. Obviously, a pre-installed, 4g, LTE, sim card sim, sim card ejector tool, wall, adapter, USB type c, quick reference guide. Oh, that's great! Let's just take a look around the box.

You have an 8-inch full in full HD screen, 2.0 gigahertz, onto, core processor, 8, megapixel camera in the rear, 5 megapixels in the front, so you're going to get 32 gigs of storage. Three gigs of ram fast charging has a 5500 William hour battery and says it has fingerprinted unlock. Now you know I'm a big fan of TCL's phones, I've reviewed a few of their phones, and I'm a huge fan, and I hope that their tablet does not disappoint in here you're going to get your sim ejection tool, you're going to get your charger, your USB type-c, USB type, a charging, cable and then quick reference guide product warranty all that stuff that we just don't really care about right. You have. This is very soft, feel rubber feel in the back.

That's black, so you got some Verizon branding at the bottom. There's your eight megapixel camera. You got a flash the front, you have your five megapixel up top and then there is now like button or home button, or anything like that. So, let's just peel this off. Let's power, this up! Oh, okay! This has a fingerprint scanner on the power button, so obviously a Verizon splash screen, because this is a Verizon exclusive device.

Okay, so we are all set up. This is we'll go through some specs a little more than what we talked about. It's running, android 10. It's got a Qualcomm snapdragon 665. So, a little older budget processor, it's an 8-inch IPS display it's 1200 by 1920 16 by 10 aspect ratio.

It has autofocus electric image stabilization for the back camera video. You can do 1080p at 30 frames per second max front. Camera is 720 at 30 frames, okay, so it's 32, gigs of storage, looks like you have about 15. This is just turned on, so you got about 15 gigs of actual usage, but so we do have expandable storage. So you have your sim card and expandable storage.

It says it's expandable up to 256 gigs, so that's really nice on a budget device to have that option to get more space. You have one speaker along the bottom: let's take a look: let's go right to the tube and take a look see what this looks like. So definitely just the one speaker off on the side. This is the next version of that. I believe this is going to be the pixel 5.

If you hold it and cup your hand, you know: okay, whatever not bad, excited to introduce some of the latest and greatest from Google. Our mission is to build a more powerful google for everybody, and we believe so again. This is in. I don't think I even mentioned this, but I think it was implied. This is a budget device and this is exclusively a Verizon again you can get LTE.

I don't know if Verizon has deals going on or whatever, but retail price for this is 200. So this is a 200 device. You're not gonna, get super specs on something like this. Let's open up a couple of different uh apps and see what we're looking like, I'm not even going to test the camera um. You know what I mean: it's its a camera on a budget I mean I don't use the camera on my iPad, my iPad Pro, so I suggest you don't use this one either I mean it'll be good.

You need to scan a document. Furthermore, you need to take a quick picture because it's the only thing in your hand. Okay, I'm not going to judge you too hard. I'm still going to judge you, but you know it's its there. If you need it, we got a few open.

Like I said, it's got three gigs of ram, so it should be good enough. You know you get this for your kid, for your grandparent, your parents, something like that, or you just need a small device for watching Netflix or something around the house. I mean the screen looks pretty good. I got the brightness down, so you guys can see it, but I mean it gets fairly bright. Furthermore, I mean the screen looks pretty clean, so you get 1080, you watch full HD, yeah, the the speaker is not very good.

Furthermore, I mean it is what it is, but you do have a headphone jack, which is very rare on devices nowadays. So if you have headphones, you want to use or Bluetooth headphones. I think that would be the way that I want to go. So I set up the fingerprint scanner. I want to check and see how that let's see how that works, I did my thumb and my finger.

That's not bad! I can feel some haptic feedback when it's going through. Is it quicker when I press it see? So that's just me laying my finger over it. I wonder if it's faster, if I actually press it, it's faster. If I press it down, okay, so maybe press it down is a little better. I think the fingerprint scanner works perfect okay.

So this is what it is I'll leave a link down below you guys can check it out. For yourself, like I said, Verizon exclusive, you got LTE 8-inch screen, I mean it looks perfect. This is a 200 device, so have your expectations where they need to be for a 200 device 200. I think this is great to give your kids, like I said, to have a connected device that you can watch movies or TV shows on you can text through it. You can do everything you need to do so.

Anyways, that's gonna! Be it for this one. If you enjoyed it, hit the thumbs up down below if you've yet to subscribe. You can do that down.
