iPhone XS vs iPhone XR 2021

So, what is up guys nick here, helping you to master your technology, iPhone 10s versus iPhone 10r 2021. Now this is the space gray, so you can't really see the Apple logo too, well right there, and we have the coral iPhone 10r here, you've seen my previous videos. Now I've been getting this question quite a bit, and I looked through my catalog of videos and I realized I don't. I don't think I've actually directly compared these two and right now you know some people. Some people waited out to get these phones at a cheaper price point. You can find the 10s under 400 in certain places, and you can find the 10r under 400 in certain places.

Some of you saying nick. What are you talking about brother? Those phones are nowhere near that price. It depends on where you're located and where you're looking at and definitely when I speak on those prices. I usually at this point I'm talking about used refurbished phones that people are selling off, not brand-new ones, from the Apple Store or from you know, regular retailers, for example. Now, I'm going to start by talking about the differences in the body which one you should go with.

A lot of people are saying I've. I've seen say that the iPhone 10, the iPhone 10s, is the sweet spot. Now, not only does this phone have a comfortable curvy design on the corners right here, it's pretty light at grams. In addition to that, the way it rests in the palm it's just very drippy, it doesn't feel like it's going to slip out very easily, and it's 5.8 inches, so not quite as large as something like the iPhone 12 Pro, for example, but also not as small as something like an iPhone 12 mini. So this 5.8 inch size might be the sweet spot. I would say it's a pretty good size.

Overall, the 10r stretches it to 6.1. You could definitely see the differences there. So when it comes to their bodies, you will see also that the iPhone 10s is rocking stainless steel. So I would say that if you want the more premium build, you want the phone that feels more solid at this price point you can get these at now. I would definitely go with the 10s and mostly because the iPhone 10s gives you much more of a solid, substantial feel now the iPhone 10r does have aluminum build, which is not as strong as stainless steel in terms of density, but the weight of it still gives it a nice.

You know premium feel to it. It's not. The most premium feel filling phone up felt out there, but it's got some weight to it, so it doesn't feel cheap whatsoever and at least the aluminum on the 10r is quite chunky, so that also makes it get a more solid feeling versus something like a very thin iPhone 6 from back in the day. Now I want to talk also about the difference in software because they're very minimal they run similar software. I've only updated the iPhone 10r here to the iOS.15 15 doesn't bring ton of major re-hauls, so they look very similar. It looks very similar to the iPhone on iOS 14, like the one on the left, but both these phones have plenty of support left.

The iPhone 10 has plenty of support left. So imagine these. That came after that phone. It has even more support left. So when it comes to a software standpoint, it doesn't really matter which one you choose here.

You are going to get the same exact iOS experience across both these, with the exception coming to the iPhone 10s in the way of the camera. So if you do go to the camera here, you'll notice, on the camera that you do have the ability to go 2x on that optical zoom and zoom all the way into 10, whereas that will be very different here for the 10r as where we go in the camera. You pinch the zoom, and it doesn't even show you how far you're in it's about 5x, though so yeah, that's about the only difference. You're going to see mostly in the software section between these now in terms of the performance, because they are both rocking the same CPU, and they're, both literally clocked at the same clock speed they are gonna, have a similar performance. However, keep in mind that the iPhone 10s does give you an extra gig of ram, which will give you a little more of a bump.

In the long haul, so for that extra little of money that you're going to get these for these days, I think it might be worth it to go to the iPhone 10s to get that four gigs of ram. But again, if you want that larger screen, it's going to have to be the iPhone 10r. Now talking about storage, the iPhone 10s could actually get a higher storage capacity of up to 512 gigabytes. Depending on where you look, you can find this one with that amount of storage, that is, a ton of storage for a 5.8 inch device that sits in your pocket. Now the iPhone 10r started at 64, but it could go up to 256 gigs.

So it is not the biggest amount of storage you can get on a phone, but I think 256 gigs is definitely a good max and the sweet spot. I think for the 10r is the 128 gig model this one right here is a 256 gig model, though right here now, which one should you buy now here in 2021 if you're looking these are second hand devices when it comes to the cameras and this one's pretty easy answer, it's the 10s. Why? Because the 10s has the same camera as the iPhone 10r. It produces great results, especially on the rear. The front does okay, but it doesn't really match up like it did on the 11 pro.

There were major upgrades to the front camera on the 11 pro, but the iPhone 10s has a better zooming ability, so you have a telephoto lens, a true telephoto lens on here versus some digital zoom on the iPhone 10r. So for that reason alone, especially when you're out and about this really does come in handy if you are seriously into zooming in on things, if you don't care about that, then the 10r should suffice for you mostly, but keep in mind. Both of them do have the same front-facing cameras of 7 megapixels, so these aren't the best. Neither one of these are the best on the front-facing camera, and neither one of them can do 4k video on the front. So if you're looking for the most pro cameras, stay away from both these phones they're not going to give you the pro results you're after, so you can see.

If I go up here, I can only go HD 60, you see it. Will cap out we're not going to be able to go over there to 4k, and that alone could be a reason to steer away from these and maybe consider something like an 11 pro or anything that came after this generation of iPhone that launched in 2018. So yeah I would say the cameras. The 10s is probably the way to go. You can get more storage, and you can get the optical zoom two things that I think matter when it comes to photography.

However, videography from the rear keep in mind, 10r can still perform really great at doing 4k 60 video, which is very nice for the back camera. But again, the 10s can do the same thing on the back camera at 4k 60 as well, and it will look a little better when you're actually looking through the viewfinder, because we haven't talked about it yet, but the iPhone 10s has an OLED panel. Not only is this panel OLED, it also just has a better contrast ratio because of that you'll see right here when we are looking at the moon or the earth shot behind in the wallpaper. Look how deep the blacks are on there. Now, the 10r, the blacks, are going to look a little gray.

So if we go over here to stocks, it's not going to show very good in the camera, because the camera's got a perfect contrast, but the blacks do look a little gray when you do get a little closer to the phone again, it's something that you would have to put these phones side-by-side to see, but it's kind of similar to when you're looking at an LCD TV, and you're looking at an OLED TV or even some of those more q-led TVs that are improving the contrast ratio. It just gives the impression of a more vibrant popping display, and for that reason I would choose the 10s, especially if it's not much more than the 10r, depending on where you are shopping around, and I want to talk about the battery life, because the battery life is something that I was never super impressed with on the iPhone 10s. But I was very impressed at first on the iPhone 10r. It was getting like two days of battery life, but these days, I'm only getting around a day of battery life on the iPhone 10r could be because of that 96 capacity on this phone, and I'm at 100, I'm still at 100 on the 10s, but the 10s still didn't get as long as the 10 hour was always a day phone. This one used to be a two-day phone, but it depends, you know, depends on your iPhone 10 arm.

Maybe the battery you have is a little better, but I will say that if you're looking for one in the better battery life department, I would say the 10r is the way to go. If you care more about battery it. Just seemed to give me a little more longevity than the iPhone 10s I mean if you look at the size, the actual physical size of each battery. It's pretty easy to see why the 10s does have a smaller 2658 cells inside the body of this phone, whereas the 10r does have a larger 2942 battery, so it's literally physically a larger battery, so it just makes con it's just common sense that you know it would give you better battery life. And, lastly, you know I've talked about it before if you've been around this channel, but in terms of mobile performance, neither one of these are the best.

Neither one of them were rocking Qualcomm modems, but in urban areas, most people that were buying these phones didn't really notice, because they were still good enough to get the job done. However, the newer iPhones do have the better LTE strength, the better 5g strength than these phones. Right here I would say it's pretty much a wash either one you go with here: you're, getting basically the same reception, no major differences or disparities there, and I also want to talk about the color options with the iPhone 10s. You can get it in gold, silver, space gray and that's about it. So you have three different color options here for the iPhone 10s over here you were definitely seeing some vibrancy with the iPhone 10r.

This was like the first iPhone to bring back the color, and for that reason it felt a lot more fresh, and I feel like it was more noticeable out and about. You would see people with blue yellow red all these different iPhone colors, and you knew immediately it was a 10r, so the 10r definitely has the more fresh popping. Vibe same thing goes for the iPhone 11 that came after it and the iPhone 12, and I'm guessing the 13 will do the same thing as well as the mini line and both of them. It didn't matter if you're using the iPhone 10r or the iPhone 10s. The face I'd worked pretty much flawlessly on both in conclusion 10s, 2021 or 10r.

Now that we're here later in the year, these phones are coming down and as the 13s launch, they might even get less for you. If you're looking for a yes to your iPhone, that's perfect. Still at a perfect price, still being updated. I would say if you always wanted that premium iPhone, but it was always out of your price range. Consider the tennis it has that more luxurious feeling than the iPhone 10r.

It has the better camera. It's just got that more boss status premium feel the iPhone 10r go for this. If you like something fresh vibrant, if you want something that is a premium feel overall, but you don't really care about having every single feature that iPhone had to offer that year, you want the larger screen you're, not into all that LCD is better on your eyes. Consider the 10r, the better battery life consider the 10r, but again it's kind of like battery, or you want the better camera. You want the four gigs of ram.

You want the three gigs of ram you're. Okay, with that you want the bigger screen, there's a few little things here and there overall they're pretty similar phones with a few minor differences. And if you want to know okay nick you told me I get it. I get the point which one would you pick you know I'm going with the 10s definitely all day. I probably wouldn't go with this space gray again, because it shows so many fingerprints.

Furthermore, I probably would go with the gold. If I was going with the 10s again definitely doesn't show as many fingerprints as this one but yeah. I would definitely go with this because it just feels more premium, I'm into I'm into details and the best hardware and the most attention to detail in the 10r. While it has it, there are some little things. I don't like the screws on the iPhone 10r, don't line up perfectly with the lightning port right there.

I think they fix that on the 12, but on the 10s you know it's lining up right there perfectly so everything it's just little stuff like that. Furthermore, I'm into the details and things so yeah, that's why I picked the tennis anyway, if you found this video helpful entertaining and forming.
